Nicely done but I still prefer the Kirsty MacColl original. It just sounds more genuinely like a woman defending her right to a relationship that other people ("they") view negatively. I don't feel it's ultimately a particularly uplifting song and when I hear Kirsty's original I always imagine that "they" probably do have the right idea about the relationship.
Kim's version is excellent - and it was great on the night. My favourite version, though, is by Katrina (ex Waves). She does a very different version and it's excellent.
This is better than Kim's album version in my opinion. The album version seems too polished. I still like it though. I do think Tracy's version is the best, musically. Vocally, Kim sings it the best to me. And Kim has a TON of songs I love and Tracy has only one song I like so Kim still wins!
The messure of the lady. She is so moved by the audiences warmth she cant sing the song to its conclusion. Amazing stuff!
