I don't think that's true, a study found in Alabama found that Judges are, marginally, more lenient toward Black defendants than White defendants (while juries, when sentencing as they do in some states, were less forgiving of Blacks than of Whites).
I too resent paying for killers, but I resent even more having to lock up people who I think shouldn't be in prison (drug dealers, drug users, people done for firearms possession, people done for tax evasion etcetera).
