Compressor surge is a condition caused, generally when a car with a turbo has a BOV that fails (or no BOV at all). When the driver slams the throttle plate shut, there is still compressed air in the charge pipe.

The turbo, however, has no power to spin, b/c theres no load on the motor ( ~0-5% TPS) so theres no exhaust.

This causes there to be more pressure on the turbocharger to backspin than spin in a forward direction.

that kind of compressor surge isn't that bad for turbos at all. ist when you get it at full boost that it fucks it up like if your running way too much boost than the turbo can handle and it will surge on boost

@adamskill no point, i know my shit i just want to know what makes you think flutter fucks turbos. type "true compressor surge" into youtube and you'll see what im on about. previous owner of my car ran it with a tight bov so it only went off on full boost but still fluttered as soon as it shut and he had it like that for about 2 years.. now i run it with no BOV all flutter and i took it out last week and it was perfectly fine no shaft play nothing.. and allot of other people would say the same.

'cuz in Italy this car costs too much for us.. and we can't afford it and there is too much to pay (i mean the manteinance and other taxes) it's really fast.. and i think there r lots of countries where it is street illegal. It's a series 1 R33 GTR. You can tell because of the 'bump' on the steering wheel, the series 2 & 3 do not have this. So It is at the latest a 1995 model. ;)

Actually that steering wheel is from a series 2 or 3 GTR, so it's a late 1996 or 1997 model.

I think the steering wheel in an S2 or S3 is flat. Well mine is... no hump. GTS-T's are different thou. they still have hump in R33..

lol love readin the comments. i've got a skyline R33 GTR. Sounds pretty similar to this one, thing is drivin around japan kinda sucks though cause the roads are a bit narrower and the japanese drivers are a bit unforgiving.
