THIS IS HIPHOP!! Not to hate on the NEW artist, cause i love to see new blood in the game, but artist now-a-daze need to sit their asses down and WRITE like a true artist! Wit all the WEAK CANDY ASS shit I'm hearing on MAINSTREAM even latest FASHION. It's no wonder you see so many GAY kids everywhere! I'm not saying that being gay is wrong and what you listen to determines your sexual orientation, but come on has anyone else noticed this? HIPHOP is not really dead per say it's just kinda FRUITY!
There's nothing like that 90s sound. I like the way MFs used to use the filter on the sampler in order to create a bass line. It seemed like the drums sounded better too. They had that swing. Remember how they used to throw a horn stab in the mix and add the echo behind that joint. The cadence that the emcees used was simple but complexed at the same time. I hear alot of people talking about that book "How To Rap-The Art and Scienc of the Hip Hop MC" I'm gonna have to get a copy of that book.=D
@youngtone00 peep my beats homie... should be right up yo alley the way you described how beats should sound... horns... filtered bass... vinyl breaks chopped into hardcore swing drums... its all there... Artifacts are back yo!!
No one sounds like the Artifacts until this day - exept maybe Blackmoon or the Lords and some others of course. Later there were... ahhh.. you probably know! BUT THEN WHAT HAPPENED IN THE YEAR 2000. Only few remained and very few could "proceed and continue to rock the mic". Lets be happy there are people like Madlib and Damu - although they have been in the game for a long time I guess. Whatever - 1995 was the time to be I'm tellin' y'all! Remember Street Theorie 101? Peace!
El da Sensei came to do a gig in Liverpool England with J Live years ago. I couldn't believe it when half way through J live's set this guy comes up to me asking for a toke on my reefer, it was El who later gave me and my boy props on stage for getting him fucked up. That memory is gonna stay with me forever man.
The hook is screwed? Hook gives a shit about a hook. That hook is what the song is about. As for repeating? That Bullshit thats comes from the South repeats every damn thing in the song. The beats, the hooks, the lyrics, no versatlity. Its, "Hey, hey, hey," or whatever. That's commercial shit, homie. . Keep in mind, this was made in 95. And thats not spray cans, it's a crowd clap.
Ahhhhhhh...a breath of fresh air...love this joint...and found a douple of this 12 inch for $1.00; the best $1.00 I have ever spent in my life--even better than the dollar value meals at McDonalds...hahahaha
Oh yeah. I noticed the PITCH in this is too slow. Might want to reupload it after you've recalibrated your turntable.... ok...that was weird...sounds like the song just sped up. hahah
@SlaytanicWarrior420 ...at the time, this was commercial rap...maybe not this track (not in philly) but these guys were commercial rap artists...These MC's were all over the radio back then, doin' freestyles etc... it was dope. I miss those days...
I also fins soulja boy to be that annoying intch you cant reach on your back....Everyone here need's to stop mentioning his wack-ass,that's only free promotion for that dude that he doesn't have to recoup from his advance...Everyone that recognize's he got "Choreography" skills, not HIP-HOP skills,we all need to stop even using his name as an example of no talent...Leave them nameless...No free promotion..

Nice work, I got a sick album from tame with a tune called 'slick talkin' produced by J-Zone. It's pretty deep, if a little short.
You've got good taste in Mc's, Tame is ill on the mic.
