So I'm doing some last minute tweeks and I want to make sure I'm playing the right notes... On the first line what are the four bass clef notes (when transposed to treble clef)?
i actually like this etude the best for some reason... but, Mr. Palmer, do you think you could sen me a link to a recording of the etudes? My school has it in smart music, but it can't be transferred to an mp3 on my phone i think...
Man, I would hate to be the lady who picked the etudes. She must be getting a lot of hate mail…that's what she gets for picking the hardest music though.
I'm having trouble getting low notes to come out quite clearly, anything below a G below middle C always takes me a while to get. Can you give me any tips?
@Hambycomb A great resource is "Mastering The Horn's Low Register" by Randy Gardner. When it comes to extreme registers there are no quick tips, just diligent work on technique over an extended period of time. Best of luck.
the fast one is now correct, the tempo was wrong on the original TMEA errata. I found that out 2 days before my audition.. STILL MADE IT

That's not really what I call last minute tweaking.
But, c, low c, c, b, Bb, low Bb, Ab, low Ab, low g

Bar 52 into 53 should have an Eb not an E natural.

@Hornprof
I agree, good ear, but I just checked tmea and it isn't listed as an official errata. That's why I left it as written.
So students, please play it as written until it is listed officially. :-)

@horn1palmer Are you sure they changed it? How did you find it?

@FamilyGuyLover66
Google tmea and lookup the audition info. It's officially listed.

TMEA just changed the performance tempo on this one to half=120-138.
Please view my etude #3 FAST video to hear it at the new full tempo.
