Just a point for POU, don't forget that a heavy steel framed pistol in 9mm is much easier for a spouse or child to fire quickly and keep on target. This is part of the reason it is a home defense weapon for my family. I carry a glock 23 for self defense and EDC, however my wife does not shoot it near as well as the 1911. My $.02 which is worth about half a scent.
I wanna get a 1911 for everything. Home defense, conceal carry, and side-arm. For home defense I primarily have my Shotgun, which i wanna put a Flash-light on. For conceal carry I'll switch between 1911 and SM Sigma 9mm depending on what I'm gonna do that day. And for a war?, tactical SGL-21 as primary.
i like some of his vids but just run too long. if i only could have one hand gun it would be a steel 1911 because it can be repaired almost no matter what.
I like my steel frame 1911 everyday IWB or open carry. I have used a khar cw40, khar cm9, glock, sig, keltech you name it I have tryed it out, I am a slim guy at 6'2" 180lbs but I prefer to carry my 1911 and have for 5 years now when in my civilian life. I will NOT carry a light pistol everyday, I just dont like it, I dont want to forget its there, I want to know its there all the time. I never have any issue with it and its good and comfortable.
I hear alot of crap talk about the 1911 man, mostly from faggy glock fan boys who think glock is just the best thing out there. I hear shit like "You cant hit shit with a 1911...what a pile of shit".....REALLY!?!? are you blind as well as paralysed?
I think discussing which gun is better in one situation is pointless. It all comes down to personal preference. Some people choose a 1911 over a Glock because they like how it feels and it shoots better for them. I hate it when people get a handgun and they really like it so they think any other model is crap and you're an idiot for carrying it, not that I think nutn' does that in this video.
"Why aim better when you can just shoot MORE bullets!" Haha Like the video. Good to see someone who's informed yet will flat out say 'I don't know everyhing/ I am not an expert."
a light on the gun is not the best idea. i was in a situation where my neighbor was drunk trying to break into his house but i thought it was a burgler on my house. i soon discovered it was not a threat but still needed to use my light to calm him down and im glad i could conceal my gun and still use a light.
Can anyone please tell me what 1911 is at 1:36? I have watched a few of his other videos in the hopes of finding it, but there are 985 of them. Thank you
when i fist joined the army i was issued the double action browning hi-power in training i was top of my class with it , i could hip the wings off a fly's ass from a mile away and i was super comfortable with it and when the started issuing glocks i hated it at first i could hit a barn 4'' away but after a few hundred rounds i dialed in the glock and now several years later i can hit sweat off a guys nose 2 miles away and i love them so training is key
I have subbed to a lot of channels on youtube but this is by far my favorite. I owned a colt commander I loved that gun all the way up to the point it was stolen from me, I cried like a baby lol maybe I'll get another one when I can afford it until then my SR40c will have to due. Nothing like a 1911 though
If it works for you that what you should carry. Everyone has their prefferences. Why else would there be so many different system design? One thing that I don't hear mentioned too often is: prefference plays a big role in your carry gun. What I mean is: if you don't enjoy handling, shooting, etc. chances are you're not gonna train with it. Not training = disaster.
i watched 5:48 to 6:58 four or five times, cracking up. your explanatoin of "the two kinds of cool" is brilliant. i'm pretty sure if "2nd kind of cool" was in everyones vocabulary, the world would be a better place...
Want to bring up a point on firepower. I live in a state that has (unwisely) limited law-abiding citizens to 10 round mags. I agree with the more ammo is better philosophy and I know that the bad guys will not comply with the 10 round restriction but it kind of negates a big part of the advantage the polymer pistols have. Just a point to make when discussing firepower: what does your state allow? Personally, I carry a subcompact, steel framed 1911 for ccw and I carry everywhere I legally can.
Nothing wrong with a 1911. I love to shoot them but I carry a Glock. I have had some problems with the cocked-n-locked carry. I know of others that do carry this way but I don't. Nothing but my preference.
Sometimes at the end of the day I find the safety has been somehow in the fire or off safe position. The 1911 is a great handgun but thinking of carrying a handgun with a 3lb trigger pull in that way is just something I don't want to be held responsible for. I just feel safer with carrying a glock. I have been a ccw for a few years now and the glock just fits me.
@bigrob911 ya even the compact 1911's are big i think, i got a glock 23 4th generation for my future ccwl. even its heavy with a loaded mag of .40, ide say a .45 1911 would make ur pants fall down. the glock 23 has 3 safety mechanisms built in, if it does misfire, its because of the carrier. i agree that a glock is better.
This is what I love about TNP, its a by the numbers run down. Im a Glock guy, but I love the point and shoot of a 1911. Im looking at a 10mm 1911 is kimber they only one that makes one?
The 1911 to me is just THE pistol. Ever since I was a kid, when I think of a pistol the image of a 1911 is burned into my brain. I can't imagine a more iconic gun. The look of it, the feel of it, the thought that 100 years ago men we're marching into places they had never been before with it by their side, depending on it for their lives and freedom is what gives this gun the most class of any pistol ever made. The 1911 is forever.
@TEDDYZMAIN Yeah it is! I have the Springfield Armory Mil-Spec and I absolutely love it. It's so slim and the stainless barrel bushing makes it look amazing.
nice vid! i do carry a colt 1911 officer model 7+1.and 4 spare mags.it does have a bull barrel puts the gun in my hand.lol! i'm disabled so i wanted a gun that hit like a truck but didn't smash my joints.the officer model just works 4 me.i can't hit anything with my glock in the same cal.but i'm like a surgeon with my colt.if it comes to shtf i'm screwed any way with my condition but i will not roll over so they got their hands full! respect to you an your channel!
I love your rig NutnFancy. Very simple. I've always been a multicam fan. It's one of my favourite camos out there. You're the best there is at what you do on YouTube.
I think my preference with the 1911 is sort of a "first love" thing. I went to a local range, rented a handgun the first of which just happened to be a 1911. Really liked it. Tried a few others but came back to the 1911 and bought a Kimber Custom I more than 10 years ago and it's still my favorite overall. I also have a H&K USP .45 which is fantastic but the 1911 is still my favorite. It's just a preference thing.
Love your videos Nutn. I'm kinda liking the Philippine 1911s right now (Armscor, Citadel, Century, ATI, etc.). Basic GI .45 ACP side arm of good quality. You're right, they do weigh a ton, but they sure work well and carry a hellatiously huge cartridge! Keep making those great videos brother!
The 1911 is my favorite and works for me every day but it's not the best pistol for every application, and there have been great advancements in pistol design since 1911. It works every time and I prefer the .45 ACP over the 9mm or 40 S&W. I like its class, heritage, and most importantly its features. It's heavy and large but it doesn't bother me as much, even after running and gunning all day. Great video.
This is silly. Do you have an actual job or do you sit around all day licking your balls in front of a video camera? The scariest thing about people like you is how seriously you take yourself. You have a lot of influence on a lot of people and choosing to frolick around in the desert like a 9 yr old with a bunch of handguns practicing shooting people, hoping a SHTF situation will pop up out of nowhere just seems irresponsible. You suck, act like an adult.
@tommysixdouche Im not trolling for reactions or trying to piss people off. I've dedicated a decent amount of time (20-40minpervideo) to the "nutnfancyproject," and i feel that i at least deserve the chance to speak my mind. These videos, for the most part, are not relevant or applicable in any way. They're big commercials. He gets paid to talk and he's good at it. The problem I have is, none of it is real.
@Queerestbeast Funny I don;t see your channel with any videos of you running and gunning Mr nut in panties does a pretty good job of showing people how to use hardware in real world situations Guaranteed if bad guys come calling and you utilized the techniques Mr. nutty pants expresses in his video you would fare very well. Your a punk ass if you think this shit isnt real and Why dont you post your video of th "Real Shit" than Smart Ass !
@tommytwoincher I know the whole, "you don't make vids so don't say shit" thing, and I don't care. Nutnfancy couldn't care less about my comment, unless this is him, which I doubt it. It's funny how you come running to his aid like a battered wife defends her abusive husband. I looked at your channel too btw, and I couldn't help but notice that all you do is jump from vid to vid, talking shit in the comments section.
@tommysixgunner Oh and if I did make a video about some "real shit", it would probably have more to do with food spoilage, shelter, and sustainability. It would not deal with excessive amounts of firepower unless I wanted to do a video on raping and pillaging. AFA guns, I think a handgun and rifle would be plenty, ONE OF EACH. The real reason he does all this desert commando bullshit is b/c that's what gets all you little faggots hard. DUH!
@lewdestbeast Make a video than tough guy Your talk is bullshit He makes videos to demonstrate and critique products I like how you look at everything so negatively you maybe were molested as a child I'm sorry you had to go through that it wasn't your fault
@tommysixgunner So suck his cock then. I bet you wish he'd make a video of that. Oh and everything you said about me was true because I don't spurt all over my computer screen while watching nutnfancy videos like you do. And even if I was molested, that'd be enough to make a washed up 39 year old loser fuck up like you jealous you lonely suicidal bastard. This is the last you'll hear from me. Do yourself a favor and get a life before you put a gun in your mouth.
@lewdestbitch quit crying your trying to defend a ridiculous point of view which has no basis of fact and now your attacking me for making sense why does your daddy not allow little queeree beast to pway wit guns is dat y u mad
@tommysixgunner Good one. Heh, daddy. I am daddy asshole. I have a real home, a real job, and a real family. Don't assume that everybody's like you, a pathetic fucking loser.
@lewdestbeast you call yourself Daddy but you whine and cry like a little bitch tell your manly wife to give your balls back if you have such a great life why are you so negative are you the kind of pussy man the world breeds these days only enough fortitude to trash talk someone who actually is daring to live his life Good Job Dick Hole
Nutn is retired from serving in the U.S. Air Force. As for currently, it's unknown to me where he generates income other than TNP. As for your attacks on him, you may want to take a look at how you're acting. I will not say you suck, because there's no need for me to start anything with you, but I will say, "act like an adult."
@orionrj16 He doesn't talk about his personal life in his videos. He even goes by an alias. He's obviously somewhat wealthy because he can own so many guns and spend so much time in the wilderness(on vacation), but not very wealthy b/c he likes cheap things and argues with his wife over gun purchases. I'd guess 50-60k a year. He's probably college educated b/c the way he edits the videos is very indicative of his intelligence. I also suspect that he may be paramilitary.
@camoflux You obviously don't keep up to date with TNP. I recommend you watch his "Airforce Stories" series to get a good idea of how he does talk about his personal life.
Bought a Colt MK4 Series 70 as my 2nd handgun @ age 16, back in '78. Other than a high cap Para 1911 years ago, my interest has been in hibernation until recently. Now I have the 1911 bug, bad. In the last 4 weeks, I've added a Les Baer 5" CC SS, a Wilson CQB T LE, I'm picking up a Sig Traditional 4" compact in SS tomorrow, and have a second Wilson compact that I'll be lucky to see mid 2012. Good to know I'm not the only sick one out there. I seem to shoot the 1911 @ least as well as Sigs&Glocks
Is the recoil on this gun good? I'm about to shoot it at January in a firing range.. and I'm just 13 I'm afraid of getting humiliated by it's recoil :l
@sonnytenedo Its nothing man. If you've never shot a handgun before you wont have anything to compare it to, but its not scary. If it was scary or painful there's no way in hell it would've lasted over 100 years and still be VERY popular today. Just relax and practice basic marksmanship. However, It would be embarrassing to let your fear get in the way and miss the opportunity.
I enjoy your videos as always. Good information! As a 1911 fan, it's my favorite to shoot, but I'm aware of it's limitations, as you covered. Good thing we can have more than 1 gun. :)
nutnfancy no offense man i watch alot of your videos and am a fan. i have spent 6 years as a marine and i have to disagree with the weight and firepower thing, especially for this pistol. i would rather hump the weight of a 1911 over anything else especially for a defense weapon. theres a reason high speed guys still carry them.
I think nutn has an infantry state of mind. Infantry is mobile, and their mobility is their asset. However, you also need artillery at times. Sometimes you need firepower far more than mobility. Each role is important in my opinion, and you need to know how to play both roles and WHEN to play them.
@ninjalex08 firepower is as easy as reloading. and no offense but if you have never shot a 1911 and more importantly have spent time as infantry, your opinion is irrelevant.
@dumbluck0629 high speed guys? please inform me of who you are talking about. At that level of training you carry what you prefer. I know everyone in seal teams is issued 2 sig 226s. About half the sf i know carry 1911s but most prefer glocks as they operate in the worst environments possible. just like the rest of the "high speed" guys. So the seals use 226s and the sf use mainly glocks. So I don't know who you are talking about so please enlighten me
@lilcobra58 well to start most of marsoc carry custom 1911s built out of oversized caspian frames by marine corps armorers and plenty of other guys, if you think a 1911 isnt rugged your lying to yourself. theres a reason there a 100 years old and still being brought to battle with full confidence.
@dumbluck0629 not baggin on you at all, but he stated early in the vid its all preference. how you connect with your target, and all that. but i agree with you i'd hump the extra mags/ammo because of the stopping power of the .45. also you know every smart ass AND practical shooter with a 9mm will say "double tap" to compensate for the lack of power.
I hope that Colt, Springfield and other 1911 makers will make a 1911 design pistol with polymer lower receiver or even only the grip to reduce rusting on the firearm. I think there is a 1911 style pistol( Bol-M5) whose grip is plastic or polymer.
@NCSheepdog613 Has to do with countries has to do with nationality... Witch is as a stupid concept as saying Christianity is better because you we're born learning to like that, or blue is best because you were always dressed in blue white you were little. Dunno what you were replying to but, has to do with countries, has to do with nationality...
I want to carry a 1911 when i turn 21. Im currently at the age of 13 and i kind of dont want to carry it as well. Consudering the weight of the 1911 compared to others that are made of polymer, like say the glocks. My father and i use a large amount of guns and im more into edged weapons. But at the age where i can carry guns i want to expand my options for carry.
I wouldn't use a .45 for home defense. Say you were forced to use it in a home invasion at night, the flash of the .45 will blind you for awhile. And if you miss, that round's gunna go through walls. I recommend a .22 or 9mm.
@megamanex888 no offense but it all depends on wut model .45 and brand espcecialy glocks my uncle has a glock 21 .45 with ported slide and barrel and it didnt do anything when shooting at night.
The only thing I like with Glock, any caliber, is its lower receiver is polymer and virtually rust free. I sweat at my palm and arm which when touch with my Colt 1911A1 frame will cause it to rust. But as to width the 1911 is slimmer than any Glock and it has a necessary weight that helps tame recoil making faster sight recovery in rapid shooting.
Common misconceptions. In general .45 acp rounds has comparable muzzle flash to the 9mm, especially from a full length 1911. And it's lower velocity means it penetrates less, not more. That's really simple physics.
Have a look at the website called 'The Box of Truth.' It's extremely eye opening
@megamanex888 9mm has much higher penetration capabilities than a .45acp because of its velocity so its far more likely to go through walls than a .45acp, not that a .45 wouldn't go through walls but a 9mm will go through more so if you are concerned about over penetration with a .45 then don't use a 9mm either
@567WORMBOY123 umm i pretty sure the one reasons that most swatz org use 9mm is becuse it wont pentrate 2 layers on drywall. besides recoil of course
dude u have alot of good info but u are WAY long winded all of your videos are 40minutes im a usmc grunt and i dont have time to watch a 40+ minute video keep up the good work
Lots of respect for TNP, thanks for your insights! I'm waiting for the next shipment of Ruger SR1911's to arrive at my local shop... any chance of seeing a TNP review of this sometime soon?
Good video. I love a 1911, but I understand there are better guns for CCW. Stop by my channel and check out my shooting videos and such if you get a chance.
Every time you say the 1911 is not the end all of all hand guns I just imagine the cult of 1911 firing up their keyboards, readying themselves to rage hard at your heresy.
@NCSheepdog613 Just because you support a political candidate doesn't mean you oblige to actually liking the man, but merely his views. Oh yeah bic boi, I did look them up. Both of them. Is it irony or a coincidence that both black candidates that you "happen" to support also support for a stricter enforcement of the 2nd A? Oh I'm sorry, isn't this merely a gun video? Or the rest of your favorites on your channel? Derp. "...for believing in the Constitution" Rofl. Exactly which part? :)
Has anyone heard of any makers making a Polymer frame 1911? If FN makes a polymer framed .45 and the Mark 23 by HK are Polymer framed wouldn't' that mean a 1911 could work with a polymer frame or that it hasn't' be done as it's not true tot he 1911 traditional design?
@NCSheepdog613 "Implode U.S. economy" Rofl. Our country is the center of international trade, don't give us that bullshit about "fraud-based bank derivatives." We basically run this economic show. We are in this economic crisis because OUR actions made us to be. Your just a narrow sighted, ignorant strict constructionist aka pro conservatism for "believing in the Constitution." Slavery before the 13th Admendment was constituted in our constitution. Do you believe in that derp? Yeah, stfu.
@lamepho So basically what you're implying is that because one thing was originally left out of the Constitution, all the other rights and liberties guaranteed by it are bullshit and shouldn't be followed or cared about? Because one thing got left out, the rest of the document immediately becomes invalid, and doesn't matter? You don't know much about this topic, do you?
@lamepho My point still stands. You think that because one thing in the original constitution was wrong (mainly because it was written in a different time, with different norms) the rest of the document that secures the most basic rights of humans, is deemed invalid? Your reasoning is very flawed.
@brqde1319 Your point never stood from the start. The Constitution just established the basic government of the United States and the power of each branch of government. If the Constitution really secures the "most basic rights of humans", then we wouldn't have the Bill of Rights, yet alone the 13th A. Did the Constitution "secure" the basic rights of black men? Of women? Of legal immigrants? Or any other HUMAN besides white men or of wealth? Don't give me that BS.
@brqde1319 If anything, the Constitution was merely a series of laws, but of federal state. It was created to ensure that there wasn't going to be another George III.
@NCSheepdog613 You were accusing me and generalising? Hm ok. And how do you know that america doesn't owe as much as is portrayed? Why would i follow America's politics when i have my own countries to worry about. Don't say all that BS about how america doesn't really owe any other country money, and how their just trying to crash the US economy. Thats just pro-americanism at its best.
Anyway, it was nice having this odd discussion with you. Take care too :)
@NCSheepdog613 I didn't twist anything, or ask you to think about political correct anything, I simply said "Im guessing you don't like the Chinese much" nothing more or less. I didn't label you as a racist, or anything else other than what i said in the first place which was an assumption from what you said. Besides i don't care about US politics, other than they owe our country and many others loads of money.
@NCSheepdog613 Well you did bring up the Chinese when you said "Chinese Lapdog" and kinda say about the chinese invading... just sound a lil... racistish, fair enough you said your not. Just sounded like it in that comment is all.
I just ordered an ATI FX Thunderbolt 1911 and it seems like a good idea. It's cheap and loaded like all the more expensive 1911s like Springfield, Colt, etc
I really think it all boils down to preference, I own a colt government 1911 and a g22. The g22 was my first pistol and even though I love my 1911 I carry my glock. I have had much more practice with it and transitioning from a weapon that does not have a external safety to one that does was just not practical for me. I would love to shoot the 1911 more to be comfortable enough to carry it but my bank account prevents me from Doing so lol. All in all I liked the video and I think a ton of valid
I bought a Kel-Tec PF9 for concealed carry and it failed to extract every other round. Sent it to Kel-Tec and they sent it back with new parts. Same problem. A range officer at Fairfax NRA tried it with the same flaw. I know other people operate it without any issues, but I don't trust the damn thing.
I have a gen3 Glock 21SF and a Full sized 1911. I love both and I would bet my life on both. I like the glock over the 1911 in some areas but I also like the 1911 over my glock in other areas. When it comes to trigger pull / reset, slimness grip angle, and just shooting one handed in an open field ww1 style like a bad ass the 1911 wins. I just love they way they look and feel... That is why I am changing my carry gun to an officer sized 1911. However for a tactical approach I choose glock
Shooters gold! Love it! The 1911 is just a sexy gun-a real mans gun! It's almost like comparing an M-14 to an m-16. Other guns can come off like toy's & don't get the respect they should get like the Glock 17 or M4-the bigger gun- I've seen command more respect from criminals in my personal experience! I guess a scare factor I never really thought of -knowing my smaller caliber guns are just as deadly & I can operate affectively! Go fig?
I had to laugh a bit when he talked about a Glock shooter not being able to shoot a 1911 because that was totally me. I have had my Glock over a decade and I am very accurate with it however when I shot my buddies Para Slim Hawg I was terrible and it was actually rather embarrassing. I have since shot government size 1911's and was accurate with those so perhaps it was just the shorter sight radius of the Slim Hawg
@CGTA1 Im pretty sure you can modify a 1911 to fire just about any pistol caliber cartridge. I know that wilson makes a "hunter version" which uses fairly large calibers... you may want to look into conversions from them.
@drawnayr dry fire is good!!! it makes you see how the gun moves when u have pulled the trigger, also it makes u remember where the trigger "breaks" or release the sear that release the hammer!!! you also hear where the trigger reset when you have pulled the trigger! I have learned very much from dry fired "my" guns!
go to war yes it has gone to war but not as a round blocker... front mount specially with a 1911 not recommended.. front mount should be flashlight mags compass shotgun rounds or small secondary pistol.. im talking only defense offense forward operation though...
It's kinda sad that you are comparing these newer double stack pistols with an older designed single stack 1911. It would probably be a lot more fair to compare the M&P9 to say the Para models. Not trying to sound rude or a know it all, just making an observation.
I live in a country, were you can only can have 5 guns to carry (each gun needs a permit) so a 1911a1 is a most, then glock 19, smith and wesson 642, remington 870, remington 700 223
Outstanding vid. I agree with about 99.99% of it. I am a 1911 freak but i also own a Glock because it is a great weapon as well. I shoot the 1911 better but that is because that is what i shoot in competition. And i mean i shoot a lot. Around 50,000 rounds the past year in a half. As my GTWG it would be hard to choose between the 1911 because i shoot it so good or a Glock 21 very close second for shootablilty for me due to capacity. What can i say i like the .45 ACP. Again great vid.
Nice video sir. I personally carry a full frame 1911 every day but I would never presume to tell someone else what to trust their life to. That is a decision they have to make and that choice should be respected. Carry, shoot, and own what you want. Keep up the good work. Wish I could come shooting at your range someday lol
I'm glad you mentioned the addiction thing, I have a friend who pretty much only shoots springfield 1911's. I told him to try an HK45 once, a gun that's almost as comfortable for me to shoot as a 1911 and he just hated it. He doesn't like to shoot, he likes to shoot 1911's.
i carry a sw1911 pd 5" for my ccw. but im a bigger guy so i can get away with it. i go to the range about 1-2 times a month or more. i try to go every other week. accuracy was great. spent 2 years in army so i get cranky when i dont get to go shooting.
i wish you'd show this to james yeager. he's the most anti-1911 person on the face of the earth

My $.02 which is worth about half a scent.

hey, what are your thoughts for a rock island 1911 (ik they are really cheap, but are they good?)
Vermontfan 1 week ago
I wanna get a 1911 for everything. Home defense, conceal carry, and side-arm. For home defense I primarily have my Shotgun, which i wanna put a Flash-light on. For conceal carry I'll switch between 1911 and SM Sigma 9mm depending on what I'm gonna do that day. And for a war?, tactical SGL-21 as primary.

I think discussing which gun is better in one situation is pointless. It all comes down to personal preference. Some people choose a 1911 over a Glock because they like how it feels and it shoots better for them. I hate it when people get a handgun and they really like it so they think any other model is crap and you're an idiot for carrying it, not that I think nutn' does that in this video.

a light on the gun is not the best idea. i was in a situation where my neighbor was drunk trying to break into his house but i thought it was a burgler on my house. i soon discovered it was not a threat but still needed to use my light to calm him down and im glad i could conceal my gun and still use a light.

Nothing but my preference.
bigrob911 1 month ago
@bigrob911 what were your problems with carrying loaded? if you dont mind me asking.
randallschecter 1 month ago
@randallschecter
Sometimes at the end of the day I find the safety has been somehow in the fire or off safe position. The 1911 is a great handgun but thinking of carrying a handgun with a 3lb trigger pull in that way is just something I don't want to be held responsible for. I just feel safer with carrying a glock. I have been a ccw for a few years now and the glock just fits me.
bigrob911 1 month ago
@bigrob911 ya even the compact 1911's are big i think, i got a glock 23 4th generation for my future ccwl. even its heavy with a loaded mag of .40, ide say a .45 1911 would make ur pants fall down. the glock 23 has 3 safety mechanisms built in, if it does misfire, its because of the carrier. i agree that a glock is better.

@orionrj16 He doesn't talk about his personal life in his videos. He even goes by an alias. I'd guess 50-60k a year. He's probably college educated b/c the way he edits the videos is very indicative of his intelligence. I also suspect that he may be paramilitary.

nutnfancy no offense man i watch alot of your videos and am a fan. i have spent 6 years as a marine and i have to disagree with the weight and firepower thing, especially for this pistol. i would rather hump the weight of a 1911 over anything else especially for a defense weapon. theres a reason high speed guys still carry them.
dumbluck0629 2 months ago 29
@dumbluck0629
I think nutn has an infantry state of mind. Infantry is mobile, and their mobility is their asset. However, you also need artillery at times. Sometimes you need firepower far more than mobility. Each role is important in my opinion, and you need to know how to play both roles and WHEN to play them.
ninjalex08 1 month ago
@ninjalex08 firepower is as easy as reloading. and no offense but if you have never shot a 1911 and more importantly have spent time as infantry, your opinion is irrelevant.
dumbluck0629 1 month ago
@dumbluck0629 high speed guys? please inform me of who you are talking about. At that level of training you carry what you prefer. I know everyone in seal teams is issued 2 sig 226s. About half the sf i know carry 1911s but most prefer glocks as they operate in the worst environments possible. just like the rest of the "high speed" guys. So the seals use 226s and the sf use mainly glocks. So I don't know who you are talking about so please enlighten me

@lilcobra58 well to start most of marsoc carry custom 1911s built out of oversized caspian frames by marine corps armorers and plenty of other guys, if you think a 1911 isnt rugged your lying to yourself. theres a reason there a 100 years old and still being brought to battle with full confidence.
dumbluck0629 1 month ago
@dumbluck0629 I would argue that a Glock 21 would do just as better as a 1911. It's all about preference on what you think is better.

dumbluck0629 1 month ago
@dumbluck0629 not baggin on you at all, but he stated early in the vid its all preference. how you connect with your target, and all that. but i agree with you i'd hump the extra mags/ammo because of the stopping power of the .45. also you know every smart ass AND practical shooter with a 9mm will say "double tap" to compensate for the lack of power.
Caincard 1 month ago
I hope that Colt, Springfield and other 1911 makers will make a 1911 design pistol with polymer lower receiver or even only the grip to reduce rusting on the firearm. I think there is a 1911 style pistol( Bol-M5) whose grip is plastic or polymer.

I want to carry a 1911 when i turn 21. Im currently at the age of 13 and i kind of dont want to carry it as well.

Just my opinion.
megamanex888 3 months ago
@megamanex888 no offense but it all depends on wut model .45 and brand espcecialy glocks my uncle has a glock 21 .45 with ported slide and barrel and it didnt do anything when shooting at night.
bigD96000 3 months ago
@bigD96000
The only thing I like with Glock, any caliber, is its lower receiver is polymer and virtually rust free. I sweat at my palm and arm which when touch with my Colt 1911A1 frame will cause it to rust. But as to width the 1911 is slimmer than any Glock and it has a necessary weight that helps tame recoil making faster sight recovery in rapid shooting.
diosdadoapias 2 months ago in playlist Handguns Reviewed by Nutnfancy
@megamanex888
HaNsWiDjAjA 3 months ago
@megamanex888 9mm has much higher penetration capabilities than a .45acp because of its velocity so its far more likely to go through walls than a .45acp, not that a .45 wouldn't go through walls but a 9mm will go through more so if you are concerned about over penetration with a .45 then don't use a 9mm either

NovaScotiaNewfie 4 months ago
@NCSheepdog613 "Implode U.S. economy" Rofl. Our country is the center of international trade, don't give us that bullshit about "fraud-based bank derivatives." We basically run this economic show. We are in this economic crisis because OUR actions made us to be. Your just a narrow sighted, ignorant strict constructionist aka pro conservatism for "believing in the Constitution." Slavery before the 13th Admendment was constituted in our constitution. Do you believe in that derp? Yeah, stfu.
lamepho 4 months ago
@lamepho So basically what you're implying is that because one thing was originally left out of the Constitution, all the other rights and liberties guaranteed by it are bullshit and shouldn't be followed or cared about? Because one thing got left out, the rest of the document immediately becomes invalid, and doesn't matter? You don't know much about this topic, do you?
brqde1319 4 months ago
@brqde1319 And you. Slavery wasn't left out of the Constitution, but constituted. That much already questions if you actually know the topic at all.
lamepho 4 months ago
@lamepho My point still stands. You think that because one thing in the original constitution was wrong (mainly because it was written in a different time, with different norms) the rest of the document that secures the most basic rights of humans, is deemed invalid? Your reasoning is very flawed.
brqde1319 4 months ago
@brqde1319 Your point never stood from the start. The Constitution just established the basic government of the United States and the power of each branch of government. If the Constitution really secures the "most basic rights of humans", then we wouldn't have the Bill of Rights, yet alone the 13th A. Did the Constitution "secure" the basic rights of black men? Of women? Of legal immigrants? Or any other HUMAN besides white men or of wealth? Don't give me that BS.
lamepho 4 months ago
@brqde1319 If anything, the Constitution was merely a series of laws, but of federal state. It was created to ensure that there wasn't going to be another George III.

Hey does anyone here know if you could modify a1911 to be able to fire a .45 GAP cartridge?
CGTA1 5 months ago
@CGTA1 Im pretty sure you can modify a 1911 to fire just about any pistol caliber cartridge. I know that wilson makes a "hunter version" which uses fairly large calibers... you may want to look into conversions from them.

dry fire does not teach muscle memory really at all. How do you know how or where to come back from your shot. ?
drawnayr 5 months ago
