nokia makes way better smart phones than bb. i always went with nokia but i switched to bb only for bbm but i still say nokia is a better smartphone than bb
i have an e72 and a bb bold 9780... e72 is much better in terms of camera output, and texting capacity.. and more user friendly.. for the rest of the functionalities they're both very good. ..... if ur not into bbm.. bbm is the only functionality that is present in bb and not in e72.. go for E72.. mas sulit ( you get more than what u pay for.)
blackberry has a 3.2 mp camera and it`s better then 5mp on nokia and blackberry has an encription for mesages , emails and calls that is very hard to decodate , blackberry has a 624mhz processor and the OS is upgradable to 6.0 , the symbian looks like an 90' menu..+ bb has an leather back and a great authonomy,thanks

I´ve had the E72 for almost a year. It has problems connecting to wi fi, the speakers, and other issues. It´s an OK phone but I wouldn´t recommend it.

I am even posting this comment through the phone.. you can even connect it to any pc and share the internet.. gr8 feature.. Thanks for the good review. What's the GPS/Maps like on the Blackberry? The free maps on the Nokia's great and the qwerty keyboard on the E72 has a much nicer feel compared to the BB, I thought. However I can be swayed if BB has a better GPS/Maps.
For a site that does reviews for different phones, you should really now that the battery cover of the E72 is stainless steel. If you would've used the phone for more than a couple of minutes, you would have known this. It's written on the back of the cover. Tells how much the rest of this videos is worth.
I have heard from actual E72 users that the E71 is better then the E72. They stated that the E72's OS was actually slower then that of the E71. And in my opinion the E72 doesn't look as good as the E71. I have the E71 with Straight Talk and I am super happy. Especially when I pay only $45 a month for unlimited all. Also the battery life on the E72 is WAY better then ANY Blackberry. The E-series phone look alot nicer and more professional then that of Blackberries.

I have had the 9700 for a month at work, and the E72 I have had for a couple of weeks.
There is NO DOUBT, you have to go with the E72, it is by far the superior of these 2. - It is much more solid, better camera (by far), it seems faster, compatibility in all areas is superior, even the OS is more stable in E72 (which is more important than looks). The look and feel award also goes to the E72.

this review is spot on for the biggest chunk of the market..
most important to me is how does the air/voip call quality comapre. antenna performance. i can't find much on a sip voip client for the bb. i'm sure one could be written. the e72 has an actual gps receiver and free turn by turn navigation, too. 9700 is a-gps, so carriers def love that.
i went with the nokia as a developer. it seems more hack friendly and i <3 that there is a port of python for it.
I had to make a tough decision between these two. It was very tough, but I ended up picking the E72. Reasons were because it is better built, from steel and metal. The Blackberry is way more plasticy. Also, the E72 has a better camera. The only problems I have with the e72 is the mp3 player. It often refuses to play songs on itunes and has issues with audio, when using earphones.
@BeFreaky123 I have E72 and love it. My friend who did the review love his 9700. The E72 does look a lot better in hand...if that matters to you. Both are great

Nokia E72 rules. . . . lots of features and applications. . . its a REAL SMART phone. . and very cheap price. . . when you buy the expensive BB 9700. . . you didn't buy the phone, is the name indeed. thats why its so expensive. . it is not smart phone. . . im still with E72. . . .

I wanted the blackberry bold so bad when i was searching for a new phone, i ended up getting the e72, as it was cheaper and i love it now. There are a few things i dont like about it but im sure i would have things i didnt like about the blackberry too so im glad i choose the e72 in the end.

I find smartphone owners of Apple, Blackbarry & Nokia to be brand loyal. When I started my research for my 1st smartphone, I found reliability to be an issue for BB & a strong point for Nokia. Comparing features for $ I favored Nokia, which I now own a E-71. Part of loyalty seems to be with OS on the Ph's which is a personal choice. The E-72 is faster than BB or iPh @ 10.2Mbps vs 7.3 Mbps, add classier styling, stronger battery,and my upgrade choice: E-72

I like the E 72 but I bought mine and within two weeks, the speakers had problems. Incoming calls had a terrible noise. I received a new one thanks to my guarantee but I have used it for three weeks and today, I had that same speaker problem again!!! Has anyone else had that problem?? I don´t know what to do.

1)symbian is d WORst OS COmpared to BB or MAC or anDRoid
2)LCd is worst (i prefer REtina or AMOLED)
3)CAmera AUto focus sux
4)lowest resolution n Very small screen !
5)browser hangs WHen u open any big sites even GIZMOdo !
6)NO GAMES i miss My iphone2g :(
7)Watching MOvies in THis OMG that sux !!!!!

this film is only treats the 'upgrade' of the phones compared to the last version.
we'll have to conclude that the e72 is still the better phone in a bussines market.
Why?
The camera is better in resolution when you'll actually look at it on your computer or printer,
The talk and sand-by time is much longer than the blackberry and last but not least in Europe the E72 costs half the price of the Blackberry and has more accessoires delivered in the standard package

Hi, I have both... One is my work phone the other my own.
I have had the 9700 for a month at work, and the E72 I have had for a couple of weeks.
There is NO DOUBT, you have to go with the E72, it is by far the superior of these 2. - It is much more solid, better camera (by far), it seems faster, compatibility in all areas is superior, even the OS is more stable in E72 (which is more important than looks). The look and feel award also goes to the E72.

3 months ago 12 I find this review misleading. It says e72 vs 9700 but your only talking about the e72 upgrade from the e71 vs. 9700 upgrade from the 9000. This is not a Part 2. If you wanna take e72 vs. 9700 head-to-head than you fail to mention things about the e72:
1. 2 cameras, you can now use both.
2. Free video calling on Skype.
3. Use wifi on anything on e72. No mobile network is faster than Wifi.
4. Make device into a wifi-hotspot.

you know in the netherlands blackberry is a real hype... but i dont like it so i chose for nokia e72 because i liked the e 71 so i tought this one also... and YES... i just dont like blackberry because my first one was actually the bold 9700 but i was like everyone has it and its a litlebit standars but ok

Blackberry bold 9700 is waaay better in my opinion and it looks just awesome!! Nokia still has that stupid boxy shape and materials are kinda regular. I don't know why people think it's better looking than bold. And I repeat, that's just my opinion...

@pexx1000 I think its very subjective because it really depends also on yoru style, I personally like both..but if I had to choose one, I'd go with E72, cuz its all stainless steel and the all bronze color one is sooo sleek and classy looking :) ...I find blackberrys look nice, but the feel of it in my hand feels a little cheap because its so light and made of plastic...well the curve atleast ..:P haha

@instantsurgery Personally I love mt E72, my friend who did this review is a big blackberry user. The e72 looks much nicer and feels expensive. A real solid device. It all comes down to OS at the end of the day. Symbian or BB. E72 camera is better as well..much better

What about the price difference?? Talktime?? Is the BB really worth it? 6h talktime on BB vs 12.5h on the Nokia.. Business minded people surely would like the double talktime! Stop being biased and consider the true facts!

this review is spot on for the biggest chunk of the market..
most important to me is how does the air/voip call quality comapre. antenna performance. i can't find much on a sip voip client for the bb. i'm sure one could be written. the e72 has an actual gps receiver and free turn by turn navigation, too. 9700 is a-gps, so carriers def love that.
i went with the nokia as a developer. it seems more hack friendly and i <3 that there is a port of python for it.

I had to make a tough decision between these two. It was very tough, but I ended up picking the E72. Reasons were because it is better built, from steel and metal. The Blackberry is way more plasticy. Also, the E72 has a better camera. The only problems I have with the e72 is the mp3 player. It often refuses to play songs on itunes and has issues with audio, when using earphones.
