For people talking about their uniform: in the RAD sylabus tights are not mandatory until grade 6. I'm not sure about any other sylabus. They are, however, allowed to wear a little skirt.

The reason some teachers don't like the skirt for pre-primary or primary dances is because the little ones LOVE to play with their skirts instead of listening.

Clearly these girls listen well and are very focused for their age. Well done!

They are very good and disciplined but they should be wearing tights, It's standard uniform. Plus it's a bit inapprpriate for them to be doing those kinds of stretches in nothing but leotards.

For older girls yes, but some schools have dancers in only socks until as old as seven so they can see their knees and feel their legs better.

@3rdbase04 i also like the look and tradition of tights, but my daughter somehow manages to tear hers so i like that this school has the young ones in socks. i am going to suggest it to my daughters teacher. maybe i wont have to keep buying tights!

@3rdbase04 In most of the Russian ballet schools the younger dancers don't wear tights, a lot of European countries it's like that. At least it's not Chinese ballet training, the little guys simply wear their underwear... It's economical not to wear tights when you're little.
