I love these videos! now that im a Marine I get to take a seat and see what I went through and it brings back alot of memories. As much as it sucked at times being there I cant tell you how much Respect and admiration I have for drilll instructors, turning civilians into Marines.
@hdst77 The tailor's probably lost it. They lost all 3 sets of my desert's when they went to to put the name tapes on them.. So guess who was the 3rd phase recruit wearing woodlands while every other recruit had on deserts, and every drill instructor on that island wanted to know why !
@hdst77 When I was in, there were a couple of kids that needed special alterations for really long army or really broad shoulders. Looks like the inspection was not too long after they were initially issues their class A uniforms
I left for Parris Island literally on the eve of our invasion of Iraq in '03.... and I remember everything. You don't forget it. ....actually, at :35 in this video, that black guy on the right I think is Sgt Ford. We were his first platoon ;o)
You poolies reading this; keep your mouth shut and eyes/ears open, and you'll be fine. Everything they do is for a reason..... you'll see those reasons as you progress. Good luck, and never quit.
@rayruiz12345 You'll be fine as long as you don't lose your composure. If you stutter, just act like nothing happened. Even if they're in your face screaming at the top of their lungs. That's what they're trying to do when they do that, get you to freak out. It's hard at first but you'll get used to it. Boot was 4 years ago for me and I still remember it like yesterday. The experiences I've had and friends I've made I'll never forget.
