@nogafka Actually you are wrong - It does have a tail....they are very short about 1-3 inches long, so they do not cut tail holes for diapers or clothes...Japanese Snow Macaques ARE monkeys, not apes....I own one.

If you are basing all this on his facial expression, you are a nitwit. When monkeys and other primates look "happy" eg. "smiling", and "wide-eyed", they're actually drawing their lips back to show stress and showing the whites of their eyes as a possible warning.

When they look "sad" like you think he does in this video, they are actually confident and happy.

Do yourself a favor and don't ever adopt a primate. You'll see it "smiling" and try to hug it and lose a finger.

Happiness is a very complex thing... Did you know street cats live 3-4 years only, while house cats live till 15-17?.. A It's sure a monkey caged in a zoo ins't happy, you can see it by their "depressive" appearance, esp. the fact they don't move a lot... Those monkeys seems very active and awake, so we can guess they aren't that unhappy.. The most important question would be: how are they treated after the 2 hours of "work"?.

Sad that when monkeys (or other nonhumans) are exploited and used for labor, it's considered funny and cute, but if children were being used, there'd be a completely different reaction.
