You might be right, I have no musical studies. Gypsies carried on an important part of the Romanian traditional music. I just thought Gypsy music was a bit more wild and Romanian milder, like this "brâu".

This song needs a cimbalom or a guitar which takes over the same rhytm as a cimbalom would have made.

Beautiful, but why Gypsy? It sounds pretty Romanian... Gypsy music is fine, but this is as Romanian as Flamenco is Spanish, isn't it?
