@kettlezone at :27 going into :28 as soon as he starts playing the main riff for tommy the cat, it sounds like he goes to pop the string and his finger slips...its very minor and he recovers quickly.. im pretty sure it wasn't intentional, but hey, im not les claypool lol
@kettlezone Thanks for pointing that out - I never woulda spotted that amongst Les's mesemerising performance - I did notice the drummer messing up the off-beats around 0.59, though - entirely forgivable when the players are this good, imo. :)
@TheHungdaddy Hey man. The man you want to check out would be Carl Thompson. An aged gent whom builds all his basses himself (last I knew). I think he puts out maybe 10-15 basses a year and all are typically custom orders. But hey, you can't rush perfection.
I'm not a big fan of Herb's kit in this video. It sounds to new. Doesn't have enough character to it. I'm sure that'd change with him playing it fer awhiles, but still. His best drum kit in my opinion is the one he was using in '89-'90. Check out the 'Primus radio jam' vids on here & see what what I'm talking about. This' directed to all ye drummers out there of course. Love that original kit of his.. Love it!

I saw Primus backing up Rush on the Presto tour I think...Les is an amazing player! Have heard Geddy speak well of his style before....so much good stuff out there to discovered! Any Bass players out there ...buy The Stickmens new CD Soup and be amazed...but take care ...your Sub will be at risk!

Rush composes masterpieces. Primus has an incredibly unique style and yes, all 3 of them are fantastic players. But Rush is better no doubt. Rush definitely respects Primus and Claypool, because I believe Geddy gave him his Rickenbacker in 1991 when Primus accompanied Rush on the Roll the Bones tour. I remember seeing that somewhere but can't remember where so correct me if I'm wrong.

Larry LaLonde is fucking underappreciated, man! Everybody's always wailing about Eddie van Halen this, Stevie Ray Vaughan that, but I think LaLonde is up there as well!
He's a Joe Satriani disciple. I'm sure he's even better then we can assume. But definitely and completely underrated. Also, nothing needs to be said about Claypool but Tim Alexander is also under-appreciated as a drummer big time. They are all virtuosos.

I saw Primus backing up Rush on the Presto tour I think...Les is an amazing player! Have heard Geddy speak well of his style before....so much good stuff out there to discovered! Any Bass players out there ...buy The Stickmens new CD Soup and be amazed...but take care ...your Sub will be at risk!

Rush composes masterpieces. Primus has an incredibly unique style and yes, all 3 of them are fantastic players. But Rush is better no doubt. Rush definitely respects Primus and Claypool, because I believe Geddy gave him his Rickenbacker in 1991 when Primus accompanied Rush on the Roll the Bones tour. I remember seeing that somewhere but can't remember where so correct me if I'm wrong.

And don't ever compare Nirvana to Lady Gaga. The difference in talent is too immense. If we're talking about technical skill, Nirvana really doesn't have much. But you don't have to play like Rush or Primus to be considered "Good." Any musician should know that.

She went to college for music and theater...she's actually much more talented than the majority of musicians out there.
