Just re-looking at your videos since my son and I have applied for a May 2012 R2R permit. We're keeping our fingers crossed! I wanted to get a better idea of conditions on the N Kaibab trail. Your pics of view of the Coconino Overlook is spectacular! And the section of trail in the redwall sure has a sharp dropoff. Thanks again for sharing your video.
@landrysg hoping you have spectacular weather in May. I've never done a spring canyon hike. Video of the N Kaibab, Coconino and redwall were taken in September on an overcast day (with a bit of rain). Only heads up is that going down this very steep portion with a full pack you want to be sure of footing. I slipped once taking a corner on a switch. Enjoy.
Thanks Trig. Learning a lot about motion stabilize. Toughest task was getting the shots and staying upright on a windy ledge. Good ideas on sound, as well.
I love the color saturation. Beautiful shots. It looks like you used motion to stabilize, causing the warping shots, but better than the alternative.
I think you could have used some ambient sound so you could taper off the dialogue to the quiet background of the music. Or leave the background noise steady throughout. Love it when you can continue to hear the footfalls, the distant voices. That should be throughout.
