  • How do you make sure it's writable? I'm using Joomla 1.5 on my computer using wamp. I've come to the page that says you can't edit the template because the .ini file is not writable. I know you need to use an FTP, how do i do this when joomla's installed on my computer?

  • Go into Cpanel -> File Manager -> public_html From there you will click the check box of "Templates" and "tmp" on the right side. Click "Change Permissions" at the top menu. Click all the check boxes. The number below reads now "777". Refresh. Go back to Joomla and apply template...Even if "unwritable" is still there, template should update. Good luck!
