My cockatiel is young i just got her and her tail feathers are breaking easily idk what is wrong is she just growing adult tail feathers or something?
My bird (she's a lovebird) stumbles when she's crossing a branch, is it an symptoms of some illiness? Sometimes, she moves her head sideways, very quickly, for nothing (not even scratching). Is it normal? :o
I can't take it to a vet, my parents won't let me. (The vet is far and I fear that something happens)
thank you for this video. Unfortunately I was too late, I found my bird on the floor, and tried to nurture it, but she was too weak. Sha was stretching her neck in a strange way. I suppose it might be due to some infection. Then she suddenly died.
my bird bites its cage .. it doesnt eat anything besides spray millets . it looks sick yesterday she was fine .. but today her beak ways her down .. and her eyes are closed she doesnt move shes only 8 weeks oldd .. IDK WHAT TO DO .. ANY ADVICE ? besides keep her warm?
Any advice on how to detect if a bird is having real seizures? Mine is a shelter find who was abused & has a lot of nervous behaviors & anxiety that worries me. He acts tweaky, but sometimes just freezes up in the middle of some activity as if paralyzed or having spaceout seizure, eyes look blank, like starring off in space, then slow to snap out of it & often looks scared & confused when comes to, like "where am I?" & slow to regain motor control & usually looses bowels. 3 bird owners=seizures!
My female bird is in the bottom of her cage she is just siting there kinda fluffed out but she is most of the time fluffed out. But why is she at the bottom of the cage. Is she laying a egg because the male and female started to go in the cage a week ago. Also my male isn't doing anything so I am wondering if she's just laying egg?
yeah my cockatiel's head looks all wet and while he's standing he's hunched over, he's not in the bottom of the cage at all... he's eating right i have no idea what he might have..
@GBis7@GBis7 There are many different ways you can train your bird, we like to encourage "positive reinforcement". You can learn more about this from a great blog by Barbara Heidenreich called goodbirdinc
My tiel had thick droppings, panting, a swollen stomach, and bobbing her tail. The doctors said it could be a tumor, or, since it's happened to 2 older birds this year, it could be eggs. We're waiting for the response. Of all cockatiels, why did it have to be my little Spikey?
@TheCrispyBunny if you are not sure if you are doing it correctly you may want to see your vet and have them give you a demonstration. If not done correctly you can cause your bird to aspirate.
my parakeet is quiet most of the time ( everyonce in a while he will chirp) i just got him about a week ago and i dont know if hes fluffing up or not because its perfectly warm in my house, theres also a female in the cage with him please help i dont know if anythings wrong
My cockatiel's feathers are always kind of fluffed-up looking. He's very young, if that makes a difference (Maybe 3-4 months? hasn't molted yet) I mean, other than that, he seems healthy... Except all his tail feathers snapped and came off from running around on the bottom of the cage XD
plz help my african grey is healthy and eats healthy foods but her dropings have like a worm it happens but its un common im starting to worry if shes sick plz tell me if shes sick or not
Hey I think my cockatiel is sick he's a male and he doesn't do normal male things he's very quiet, doesn't sing or beak bang, his chirps sound weak, but he drinks and eats normally though I think he stays fluffed up too much and I've read that that's a sign of illness. I'm going to take him to the vet soon but right now I don't have the money can you check him out from a video? Thanks
@CKALLY We really can't give a diagnoses on a bird without actually being with the bird. Our best advice would be to get it into the vet if you have concerns.
My budgie is sneezing and it's a wet sneeze. I'm giving him this medicine from the pet store that my father bought for him, but i'm not sure if it's working. What do you think I should do?
is there something wrong with my budgies? after they peck eachother, they start putting their heads up and down like their nodding? I'mma bit worried 'bout my budgies now! But is it sick?
@gemgerm It is very hard to answer without seeing the bird. Pictures might be helpful. Would you be able to send pictures of your bird to customerservice@kaytee.com. Please reference the YouTube video in your email.
hi i have a question my parakeet sherbirt a few days ago had a acceident and i just noticed that he had scapes on his legs and his chest i dont know if its seriouse is it? hes acting normal and eating normal but should i let them heal or what?
@KayteeVideos thankyou so much sorry to ask you so many questions but do you know if i could put anything on the cuts. by the way she got attacked by my dog and i think these red marks on her legs and chest are bite marks is that suppose to be there and will she be ok she has no tail thanks again and sorry for so many questions
Dr.Cllubb: My male parakeet is 4 years old and is losing the feathers frin his feathers. I don't know if he is sick or is molting. His eyes, mouth, respiration and feet are fine. His beak is also fine and does his normal activities every day,no signs of resp, disease yet. I would appreciate your help, thanks.
my cockateil has thrown up undigested seeds three times now.... he was sitting on top of the cage and it sounded like he was flicking food out of his dish but like i said he wasn't near his dish he seems healthy in every other aspect..... i am unsure what to do i don't think it was regurgitation as he was minding his own business just sitting there.... any suggestions or hints and tips would be much appreciated!??
My budgie was sick she was a very god actress then the day she died before i went to school she was puffed up on the floor. I came home after school and went to see her and buddy i looked in her cage to see her lieing there dead, lifeless.Don't let this Happen to your budgie,Check on them constantly if u are aware they r sick take them to the AVIAN vet.
You had good intentions! She might be protecting her cage, since thats been her home and now hes invading it! If you are unable to move them into a new/neutral cage, I would suggest changing up the inside of the cagenew toys/different perches, etc. This may leave her less likely to defend her turf!
Also- birds need to bond; this might be a case of I just dont like him! in which case you would ultimately be best off housing them separately.
Help I Just got a boy parrakeet for my girl parrakeet and she hates him he tries to go near her and she pecks at him and flyies away i just got him fir her today any Tips??
Hi! I think my budgie is constapated! He isent having any bowel movmentss and he is very puffy. He just lays down in my hand alot too. He seems up set. What should i do!?
I had a weird experience with a pet budgie who was about 2 yrs old. He died this past weekend. I think he ate himself to death. He was in an eating frenzie for about 3 days. He wanted no contact with me the night before he passed and searched for food like he'd never eaten before. Have you ever heard of this? I have 2 females that I'm very concerned about but they seem to be healthy and act like normal birds. Any suggestions on what cased this? Much appreciated!
that was a BIG sign to take your bird to an AVIAN vet. birds hide their illnesses to survive in the wild. so if you actually NOTICE something abnormal (lik excess eating) it means that your bird has been sick for a while and needs immediate attention. excess eating is a sign that something is wrong. just google bird care and signs of illness and they'll tell you some important signs to look for. over or under eating is one. fluffed feathers. glazed look in their eyes...etc. sorry for your loss.

@scenethelite these types of things are really hard to determine without seeing the bird in person. Your best bet it to take a visit to your vet.

my bird is a scaly breasted lorikeet and is 5 months old
is it sick
123lpx 7 months ago
@123lpx This isn't something that can be diagnosed without looking at the bird. Our advice is to take him to a vet if you are concerned.
KayteeVideos 7 months ago
@123lpx
Hopefully your lorikeet is eating a nectar type diet. These typically produce a very watery dropping.

yea guys, if u hav a sick bird.
take it 2 an AVIAN VET.not a REGULAR VET.
because if u go to a regular vet, ther gunna say, "O, its just fine!,"
but if u really disagree and take it 2 an AVIAN VET, ther gunna take REAL GOOD CARE for it.
trust me.
i will spend ur money, but its worth it 2 save a beautiful featherd creature.
