Actually, they have an even longer competitive history. 2nd in 1985 to Watson/Oppegard, 3rd in 1986 to Wachsman/Waggoner (1st) and Watson/Oppegard (2nd), 4th in 87, slipping under Katy Keeley and Joseph Mero, 3rd in 88, and finally 2nd again in 1989, as you mention!! I believe that the following year (1989) that they won the silver medal at US Nationals behind Yamaguchi and Galindo. Great pair nonetheless.
