@CathRun08 Calling "A New Leaf" pretty funny is like calling Shakespeare's sonnets pretty fair short bits of poems! "A New Leaf" is a masterpiece in the hands of screenwriter Elaine May...funny, touching, a wonderful commentary on wealth, personal loyalty, morality in the late1960's, and beautifully filmed from the opening to the so touching closing scene. May as the wealthy timid bookish leading lady...man, I had such a CRUSH on her, the beauty of the smart, "plain" woman, what a doll.
If you go to Charlie Rose's website (his show is on PBS late at night most areas) - you will find a 1993 interview w/ Carly, as well as this one (c. 1997-2000) - he tells her (1993) that he was actually at her wedding to JT (parents' connection) - she doesn't remember, of course! cute tidbit.

Elaine May= her plays are boring, but her daughter, Jeannie Berlin, is brilliant and underrated....always had to exist in her mother's long ego shadow.
