  • Hit #1 soul, #2 pop. Cut in the same key as, 'Lookin' for a new love.' God bless!

  • This is one of my favorite Jody Watley's videos... I love how she dances and move to the beat .. every dance move right on time!! I love the part when she is modeling and the close up of her face.. she knows how to work the video.. I am a big fan of yours Jody.. I love your dress style and dance moves .. A big fan forever!!!!

  • jody is such a legend!!! and this video reminds me of that

  • still stands the test of time- I love this remix, and it's 6:50 long, but worth every minute! LOL She's sassy, and she has/had a part in music history...OH OH AH...OH OH AH! We all know what REAL LOVE is...God!

  • @bbqliliha agree!..It's very progressive in style and production..and the vid doesn't look dated at all!!..

  • @spottydog4477 Yea==classics like this song, the jeans and tank top, & black clothes are always IN! Thanks for the reply! =)

  • @bbqliliha YEAH, SHE WAS AHEAD OF HER TIME...

  • Loved this mix! "Listen up...and more lies".... Love, love, love that! Jody never received the credit she deserves. So many bit her style. I saw her in concert in Chicago when she was touring this album. Still the best show I've ever seen. Simply brilliant.

  • Whatever happened to Jodi? She was awesome!

  • Jody Watley, producer of some of the greatest dance music ever. This video still slays me. Thank you Jody.

  • Jody is the bomb! i'm glad to hear that she is finally getting some recognition for her talent. i'm a Jody Watley fan til i die.

  • Great video ! Thanks for posting... Rock on... nicksfan052648

  • This is a remix! So hot to this day! What a eye for visuals!

  • I don't like this version of the song. Too many 'oh oh ah's and where's the booming bass of the original?

  • I LOVE THIS SONG

  • She paved the way for those young bitches nowadays,Lady gaga gots shit on Jody though,Jody is Original.

  • Jody watley was Waaaaaay before Rihanna and Ciera. The Paved the way for those Bitches.Like Madonna, she paved the way for everybody!!!!(Don't hate) Jody is not Corny, she is Original and Classy.

  • "I want a love that serious, no time to play love game, don"t wanna be nobodies fool,so if u wanna be with me you gotta give it up..got to have 'real love' " a classic!!

  • After the Shalamar days

  • I am losing my mind right now. Old School Jody Watley. I am vogueing and everything. lol.

  • what happend to the video?!

  • this is that song

  • ROTFL!!!! spottydog hahahahahaha

  • I remember when this came out ...I lost my mind!!! I have it on vhs somewhere.

  • this looks like a fashion magazine come to life, LUV IT!!

  • I never knew she was the member of Shalamar...wow

  • didn't she win a grammy?

  • @2Tube22productions Yes Best New Artist in 88 I believe for her album in 87.

  • yes

  • wats a 'cassette maxi -single"?....is like an ipod?...how many songs could you upload on it?

  • LOL, oh lord, that's good one

cassettes were before CD's (compact disc) . They were big in the 80's. It was portable for the walkman and radios and car stereos.

Some of the singles came in the tape with different mixes/versions. WOW man thanks for taking me back.

  • @spottydog4477

The maxi single was able to hold up to 5 or 6 songs

  • 5 or 6 songs - lol.....why would you even bother?

my dad says when he was young there was no TV remotes, computers, mobile phones, ipods, internet, DVD, video games.

man wouldnt you just wanna kill yourself?

  • TELL 'EM jwatley1!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • It was certainly catchy enough to make it into the Top Five, Pop, Dance & R&B - not to mention the video remains one of MTV's Most Nominated Videos of all time.

Real Love also earned a Most Played Award from BMI and remains in recurrent rotation on Classic Hits radio.

I'd say in all quite catchy indeed.

  • @jwatley1 Quite catchy, I would agree. This is one of my favs. BTW, what instruments do you play?

    God Bless!!

  • @PaulaDDS Jody plays the piano and she has co written songs since her days in Shalamar and wrote her biggest solo hits too in addition to producing some of them.

  • @Tonster1998 You should show a little respect

  • Comment removed

  • @Tonster1998 well obviously you liked it coz you came on here.

  • Jody is sooo pretty~ Keep jamming in them bomb ass black boots Jody!!! I love this girl!!!

  • She's just stunning and i love her fast tempo stuff like this, keep it coming.

  • Timeless....one of the all time best videos/dance songs ever made.

  • i had the cassette Maxi-single for this song when it first came out. Man this song was bolted to my car stereo in high school. Jody was the bomb!

  • Jody works it!!

  • She has original African features. I see african american, jamaican.etc women with these features all the time!!!

  • work it jody!!! oh oh AHHHH!!!!

  • Jody Watley was the absolute best at what she did in her time. This Video is Supreme of all videos of that genre. Jody Watley we danced and vogued our behinds off of your songs and videos. Especially this one. Thanks for the post and the memories.

  • This video has stood the test of time and i think will continue to do so!!!!!!!!!!! BRAVO!!!!!!!!!

  • nice song she got soul

  • Anyone remember Jody Watley's 'For love's sake' ?

If you do, and have the time and the inclination, would you upload it? I would really appreciate it.

  • Flawless and timeless, I still love this video. Keep doing it Ms. Watley, love 'The Makeover'., still with you.

  • I always wondered what the hell she was mixed with. She has extremely strong features for such a petite girl.

  • Even after 20 some odd years I'm still looking for some REAL LOVE... it seemed so attainable back than now it's just trash

  • Yes, this is the forerunner of most of the En Vogue videos of the 90's!!! Jody was my fashion influence at the time, and her look in this video is so classic and cool! That LBD and hat are to DIE for! This video(and song) has aged very well and is still hot!

  • I have to agreed with you and they don't make women like her or EnVogues and they can sing. Just want to say before Jody and EnVogue, The Supremes were setting the standard for women of color and all women back then in dressing on stage and looking ever so sexy and classy.

  • @cocoabakerchica Ugh! Don't even compare the commercial group En Vogue to Jody. I absolutely hated En Vogue, because as their name suggested they were only "En Vogue" for a short period and then no longer heard from again.

  • this girl had great style and great taste. this video was very well done

  • It was always a dream of mine to see Jody Watley perform "Real Love" live, and she fulfilled my dream yesterday at Halsted Market Days. She was FANTASTIC--looked, sounded, everything! Thank you so much for such a stellar performance!

  • I saw her yesterday in "The Birchemere" Alexandria, Va, and she did a great performance!! keep it up girl!!!

  • I love this song by Ms. Jody. The remix is real cool. I hope you do more new music girl.. We're waiting for new stuff...

  • I can't think of another artist who apparently did extended versions of all her videos, at least on this album. She may be alone in that respect.

  • Real Love!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • my fav song by jody watley

  • Jody was working her stuff in this video! A true diva extraordinaire back and today!

  • This is my favorite Jody Watley video !!! I remember this song was HOT back in the day.. on the radio, in clubs, in heavy rotation on MTV, BET, VH1, etc. !!! Between her, Janet, Madonna and Paula, they used to give us great video and dance tracks !!! Thanks for posting this !!!

  • I loved Jody Watley back in the Day. This song was all over the radio and the dance clubs. She gave you great shows. She was so beautiful and talented. She could work a runway like nobody else. This video was one of a kind. It was nominated for a lot of awards, but lost out to either Madonna, Paula Abdul or Janet Jackson. They were all hot at the same time. Those were the days. Thanks for the post.

  • I tell you, nobody served up better conceptual runway than La Watley! Bummer they don't play her anymore on the stations in California!

  • When this came out in 1989 this was the shiz-nik. If you heard the other remix on her "Wanna Dance With Me'' cd this track has stutter beats remixed with more overdubs. Jody is Fabuloso

  • This is like the same beat songs, almost

just like Evelyn "Champagne" King and

    Madonna.

  • Jody is the ultimate queen of soul and puts the word diva into a new context. her longevity and diversity is legendary. You will always have a special place in my heart Jody.

  • Jody Watley was So Beautiful and Sexy ! , I'd like to marry someone who looks just like her . Yes , she's ALLLLL THAT!!!

  • JODY WATLEY is Amazing! I remember when even madonna had to take notice and learn from the Queen on how to work it. Jody your the best and still is.

  • I do believe Don Cornelius referred to her as...HOTLY JODY WATLEY. ALLLLL THAT!!!

  • This artist, director, and producer need to do something new, because this is EXEMPLARY of Style, sophistication, and TALENT. Unlike the music of today that markets to "kids" with it's messages of gratuitous sex and violence...I'll take this in any lifetime over the crap that we're forced to listen to today. Thanks Jody:)

  • cool, wow

  • Love this song still.

    Work it Jody!

  • wurk !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • "Oh, Oh I..."

I say "Oh, Oh My !"

  • jody is a living legend!

  • Remember Shalimar? She was awesome then too! She was a regular in Harper's Bazaar's annual top ten "beatiful people" of the year award in the eighties...and she has a sister who's a pornstar! (midori)

  • To this day, I still LOVE this video. You don't find videos this innovative anymore. AMAZING.

  • I appreciate the people who upload these videos, it makes it real easy to look up stuff for karaoke.

  • You can see influence of "the kids" in this video. Jodys always done a great job of bringing the underground to the masses. She killed the runway in this. She modeled in Paris for a while,it paid off!

  • Loved this song and the video really made it work...I tell you at times Jody and Sade could be some sisters..they share a lil resemblance..

  • Marie J blige

  • amazing vocalist,

    amazing woman,

love this record, still sounds hot..

  • work tha runway, sweetie!!!

  • miss Jody. Never got a chance to see her in concert. I have listen to her songs and still work out with her excercise video for over 20 years now. The music is still funky and hot. Jody has a smooth, beautiful voice and great style. I am a true fan of her. Come back to us in a tour. We are waiting.

  • Just how hot was Jody Watley from 1986 to 1990? She put out two smoking albums, man you talk about beautiful, she has a exotic beauty that is really brought out by the big, beautiful eyes. I was totally in love with her as a 17 year high school boy. I even compared my girlfriends to her; bad choice there. I miss those days, luv ya Jody. Good times, great stuff.

  • just how amazing, hot and mature jody got AFTER 1990 ??

    someone missed a lot here:

    her "midnight lounge" and "intmacy"

"flower" and of course "affairs of the heart" are full of great songs...

  • Yep. I got her single When A Man Loves A Woman on Cassette and CD single, I remember when she cut her hair in 1990 alot of people were mad. One of my friends wanted to send some wigs to her fan club

  • Jody was always cutting edge...when she had the Dorothy Dandrige look while singing "After You, Who" the short hair was very beautiful on her - at first it was shocking and after she gave it a distinct look it fit her.

  • True, but I always loved her with long and shoulder length hair, but that doesn't take away from her talent

  • I loved this song..my big sister and I used to dance all night to this...

  • My girl Jodie is the queen of Rhythm and Groove !!!~!!!!!!!!!!

  • ac/dc has prolly sold a few more albums than jody...

  • Jody Watley had some good ass songs and the remixes were off the chain!

  • hot damn.....

  • I was in a club some years ago and heard a male version of this song..Does anyone know his name?

  • AWESOME

  • she looks like my sister, when my sister was younger,,,,thats why i love her..my beloved sister Christien stuger

  • Loved this song and video in teh day. JOdy with shalamar was perfect . The metamorphisis to solo Diva/Star was seemless.

One of the most beautiful singers in the 20th century

  • Jody Watley was pretty good, i liked most of her stuff :))

  • Where is she now????

  • she has a new cd out...check out amazon mp3 downloads

  • One of my favourite songs from the 90's!!! Jody Watley - YOUR SONGS ROCK!!!!

  • Thanx my mama says she's my cousin!! I got a family reunion t-shirt!!

    - Aunt Jodi rocks!!

  • I grew up in New Zealand and LOVED this song so much!

Was my defining song...instead of doing my homework at 6am...Id be dancing around to this!

  • Yes. This is true (video info). However, I still feel the regular video is better. Gotta be the funkiest track I've heard can't wait to hear it in a club - so I can work the floor and my thang. In vintag/custom couture.

  • I'm a big Jody Watley fan! Love this jam!

I played this song to death....

  • still sounds great.

  • Jody Watley is an icon.I saw her in Playboy. I don't know if she sings better or looks better. That's a tough call. She is loaded with talent. And I've been listening to her songs since the Shalamar days.

  • one of the best songs from the 90s .JODY still rocks............love you from IRELAND....

  • anyone wanna dance???

  • I'll do it, As long as you dont play Keyesha Cole.

  • sounds like you're getting tired of her to,,,is that it? plus Jody had real style

  • I Heard Now A Days She sings Jazz Music

  • Hey, fellahs,

You noticed lately how Amy Winehouse has got alot of that Jody Wately look?

    Just sayin'...

  • amy is a wacko ... she is unique but rude - i will take jody watley over amy any day

  • yea you guys just need to relax:)

  • Oh guys who cares who took what from whom. Both ladies rocked it music-wise. They are both music icons. Their music will never die!!

  • I loved jody back in the day!!!!!

  • Nobody could catwalk like Jody!!! This was one bad mamma jamma! I wish she had a video for "When A Man Loves A Woman"!!! This still rocks without being dirty or lewd!!!Stylish and ladylike!!!

  • Wow I haven't heard this song in years! Thanks for posting it!

  • best remix good club mix bassline cool.jody.

  • Your right, I still say to this day. Madonna stole Jody's look and Ran with it...

I love the "still a thrill" Video, They killed it. Jody and dude took it back to Soul Train.

  • Well she did the same w/vogue. Hardly a surprise.

  • And the main difference of course is jody can sing, madonna cannot.

  • If Madonna ever stole anything from a blac person Al Sharpton would have been all over her like WHITE on rice!

  • Madonna stole Jodys look...call Al Sharpton. Of course Madonna has had like a million different looks so that Jody is one creative lady...Niccas crack me up! Go back to Africa...wait...Madonnas in the process of stealing it too, lol

  • Oh The Cheesey White Gays

  • im lactose intolreant!

  • um hmm girl sure you are

  • At this time she was the "black" Madonna. Dont get me wrong. Jodys got her own thing. Loved Shalamar!

  • No, Madonna was the "white" Jody Watley, and as a result her skin color was her pass to greater fame and acclaim than Jody.

  • yeah thats why Borderline was such a big hit when Jody Sang it. I love Jody but shes no Pepples! Youre funny. Hillary 2008!

  • just another example of us white folk stealing everything from the negros... that madonna stole vogue, too. funny cause i though dancing and singing was for eneryone? guess its only for the black folks!

  • She has always been very talented and pretty. I love her work.

  • Man, I still get goosebumps when I hear this song. Love it!!!

  • was david fincher the one who directed seven and zodiac?

  • yes
