I think the sprint rep lied to you. HP did buy out palm, but that doesn't affect support for purchased products. Palm has essentially been made HP's mobile division. The only thing that has really changed is Palm has a lot more money to further develop the platform and release new devices. In fact, they're about to release a major upgrade to webos (version 2.0) for all palm devices, including the original pre on sprint. The plus versions on vzw and att have much better build quality, too.

You can find it on ebay, honestly its a generic brand.

It froze on me a lot. And randomly started to shut off as well...

@hanksranger thats a shame :( maybe the ones now have improved i really dont want to bow down to iphone, how long did the battery last and did it become lose really easily?

The battery lasted me a day... on a good day, the battery is inside the phone behind a removable cover so it did not become loose, the build quality of this phone is not that good either.

However they are coming out with a PLUS version of this phone and the PIXI as well, so I would just wait and see how they are compared to this one.

This phone suxs!!! I have had the phone since it came out. What a rip off!! Stay with the blackberry. Better yet go with the service that sux just to have the iphone... Sprints service isn't any better either... Stay away from this phone!!! Run, very far away from the palm pre

Im going to have to agree with you. I am using my old blackberry now, but yea that pre was junk, at the time of the review though i liked it,

What do you think of the build quality? People seem to be complaining about the slider a lot

Thats the only issue Ive had is the build quality. The slider is pretty loose.

I was afraid of that, at the moment my only hesitation with buying a Palm Pre is the worry that I'm going to snap it in two.

Would you say the slider is a massive problem or is it easy to live with?

You can live with it, its not that bad, the phone wwont break in half either.

I thought of buying this phone since my treo 650 comes to it's end. Too bad they are not available at my location.

On treo 650 the battery lasts 3-4 days with moderate usage and turning it off for the night. 1 day is too baaad...

couple of questions, the phones about to come out here in the uk in a few days so i want to know all i can about the phone. First how is the keyboard many reviews say its too small, i currently have a samsung f700 so am used to a big keyboard, will i find it hard to use etc. Also what case did you have on it? And how many apps are there on the app catalog at present.

The keyboard worked fine for me, I have no issues with it. It does take a minute to get used to it but it is good for me I thought I covered that part.

The case I bought off ebay and there are like 150 apps available right now I believe
