  • This track is also in Wild 9.

  • ka4aet

  • 1 person's crack is Buttville!

  • "This isn't game of the year, this is game of the decade!" Absolutely.

  • Nice beat damn!

  • hardest and best level :D

  • Like :O

  • I'm just so sad that this part of the level is the shortest in the entire game and has the best music D=

  • Freakin AWESOME *-*

  • Lol I love all the artwork for Earthworm Jim, they always make him look so bad ass

  • Best 2 Games ever on Sega.

  • The boss was hard as hell

  • The snes version didn't have my favorite sound.. the "ohh yeahh" Jim says when you reach a checkpoint.

  • earthworm look pissed

  • i know the snes was more powerful in hardware but i think the mega drive kicked its ass with sound

  • What is it with this soundtrack? I don't know why but the guitar synth just sounds so awesome compared to the real guitars used on the sega cd version.

  • Groovy!

  • OH MAI GOD, I'M ROCKING OUT WITH MY COCK OUT!!

  • this is like badass jeopardy music

  • 0 dislikes.

    AS IT SHOULD BE

  • why the fuck did i just discover that the Earthworm Jim OST is up there with the best OSTs of video game history?

  • my favorite game of all time!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • earthworm jim is just pure win

  • Thumbs up if Protonjon sent you here!

  • Best Song on the Game Hands Down.............

  • DAT BASS

  • BEST MUSICAL PIECE IN THE WHOLE GAME!!

  • Flawless Victory

  • I had the SNES version as a kid. I prefer some songs better on the Genesis and some better on SNES. I prefer SNES New Junk City but I prefer the Genesis version of this song. I had both systems as a kid so i'm kind of a mixed bag.

  • One of the catchiest tunes, ever!

  • geez i really miss jim lol i really wish they would put him another game but still keep it 2d platform

  • ass kicking music since 1994

  • Whoopie

  • Fucking Earthworm Jim needs to be remastered RIGHT

  • I don't understand how such a simple tune sounds soooo good?

  • Why is the best song in the game in it for like 10 seconds? I found myself just standing on the platform listening to the music for5 minutes doing the freefall.

  • Damn this brings back memories. Still an awesome game to this day imo.

  • It's crazy how this music plays in a level called "buttville."

  • I like how it plays this when fighting the queen. I only see it like that in the genesis version though

  • It is rare to find video game OST's that REALLY rock like this one! It's got that blood-pumping beat and good harmonics that really make a game awesome!

  • this should be my ringtone

  • this track should be on the new EW Jim HD - Buttville (The Descent)

  • Epic piece of music.

  • from game to game i should say

  • I believe as far as music is concerned, it's give or take from console to console, this shows the example of the genesis version's music being superior, whereas if you take SNES Doom's compared to almost every port of that game, the SNES' reigns supreme.

  • If someone could direct me to bass tabs for this song I would be forever grateful

  • You should upload The Earthworm Jim HD version of Buttville :3

I'm curious to hear what it sounds like :O

  • @pwnerofthemonth

Its not as good as this believe me I have the game (I dont have the OST yet though)

The music was based on the SNES OST and not the original Sega one, that was a bad move for ppl like me who prefered the orignal music. The Queens Lair music sounded nice though.

When I find the OST I will upload it for sure

  • @Renegade466isback lol you were right man. You know your stuff.

  • @Renegade466isback another (if its new it isnt as good!) guy... yeah im SO sure it isnt as good.. we will see and ill make my own choice ok? i also LOVE Earthworm jim (been playing it since i was 12) just cause its new doesnt mean its worse.

  • @SatansMullet

lmao, dude dont get so bent out of shape, yes Im an old school gamer and the standards they set with these soundtracks in the 90s set the bar extremely high, so when I hear mediocre remixes I tell it how it is

I wasnt saying nobody should be allowed to like the music in EWJ HD, if you like it thats fine by you I aint got no problem but the guy asked me about the OST so I shared my honest opinion

  • @SatansMullet dude, I prefer the term "I prefer the originals" guy

  • @SatansMullet lol... I don't know why you're responding that way... the new music just isn't as entertaining. new music in general is obviously better in certain cases...

This music just captures the excitement and coolness of Earthworm Jim better

  • @Renegade466isback love it dadadadadadadadadadadadadadadadadadadadadadadadadadadadadadada da da da dadada da da dada da da da

  • @Renegade466isback pc had a blasting sound :D

  • Hehe... I watched this TV series when I was younger. That was, and still is, the BEST TV SHOW EVAR. Seriously, go watch it, it's just like The Tick.

  • what a name.....Buttville. I will always love Earthworm Jim for it's sense of humor

  • Yeah, I've heard and played all the EWJs, and to me, the Genesis version of the music is the best. It has more "oomph." The Special Edition may be the OST version, but the "trickle" instrument that plays during the entire length of the song is too loud, drowning out the other instruments, especially the drums, which the Genesis version emphasizes. Also, the beginning of this song, with the "hollow" sound effect on beat is almost absent from the other versions.

  • @ZeroXcuses

The Sega CD/PC soundtrack has higher quality sound, but I dont think its better, the instruments sound cheesy and cheap

Although these original ones have bad sound quality, the timbre of the instruments themselves is what makes them sound cool

  • @ZeroXcuses. I agree. The genesis version does sound better.

  • Why do all the themes from Earthworm Jim games sound so damn epic?

  • This isn't actually a boss theme, it's the final level.

  • actually it is first heard when you fight the Robo-Chicken boss on level 5

  • You're right! Whoopsie!

  • If you have played Wild 9 for the Playstation.... Listen to the song on the Level "Beast Out" Way more better....... But the classics kick ass

  • how can i rip SEGA megadrive sounds/samples?

  • man these drums sound 10x more powerful than the snes' jacked up samples. usually it was the mega drive with the inferior sounding music but nintendo got the shoddy earthworm jim port.

  • i think so too man

  • The COOLEST Boss Theme I've ever heard!!

  • Speaking of cool boss themes...have you heard the boss music in Rocket Knight Adventures?

  • put a link of it here..

aso listen to music from the game dune2 it is spectacular fuken awesome

  • It won't let me put an actual link but copy and paste this into the youtube search -

rocket knight adventures music boss theme

  • One of the coolest 16-bit final boss music I've ever heard. The Genesis version had better music, the SNES version sounded so dull.

  • robot chiken boos falling

  • i have a sega for one reson and one reson only............to play this game!

  • awesome level, really hard i never did passed this level :( but the game was awesome...

  • One of Sega's better games.

  • One of Sega's better games?? This was THE Game on the GenesisO_o

  • Sonic The Hedgehog is THE game of the genesis with Spave Harrier on the 32X !

  • Yeah the Sonic Series was epic 2. It's a shame what Sega made out of the franchise:(

  • You know, now the new game is completely invalid!

  • Only thing we can do is hope they will be able to bring it back in all of it's glory one day.:(

  • You're right man! ;) wait and see ^^

  • Groovy Time

  • Comment removed

  • indeed, this game was epic

  • Man this level was hard dark, had lightning and spikes EVERYWHERE

  • I loved it. It was hard, but it looked so awesome

  • Thank God they put this version on the VC

  • It's not even funny how much better Genesis' version of this tune is compared to SNES. However, it is better on the PC's adaption.

  • Not on the whole can o worms because Buttville and Decent where swapped. This may just be my version but I dunno.

  • hah finally someone posted this soundtrack!! This is such a kick ass theme and the only one you can usually find is the one from the snes. You are awesome for posting this

  • This level was pure horror.

  • GROOVY!

  • Earthworm Jim is my favorite video game character.
