Dorothty sang this on `The Golden Shot` a very popular show on ITV compered by the late Bob Monkhouse, Does anyone have the footage, it would so wonderful to see again
DEVASTATING CONVICTION!!! The very best rendtion of Pete Seeger's "Where have all the flowers gone" I have ever heard!! Sung with DEVATATING CONVICTION AND PASSION by the incomparable Dorothy Squires!!!!
the incomparable and unique Dorothy Squires. I saw her revive this medley the last time she appeared at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane, London in 1982.This should be routinely broadcast for armistice week.
omg ... my grandfather had 'Live at the Palladium' when I was just a little lad ... I used to listen to it all the time ... and could lip synch this whole section word for word ... what memories !
hope someone would post the 'autograph book' section (think that's what it was called)
one of my fav Dot lines 'Can I be blamed for trying to knock a brick wall down with my head'
A heart wrenching performance with passion. So fitting its posted at this time. Having got a loved one in Iraq they should show it on TV and play it in the house of commons, perhaps it might prick a nerve and certainly needs to be played at a former PM's funeral - a fitting elegy....
thankyou dot x
