fuck i just met greg a while ago, talked to him a bit before the show. they killed it! i cant think of a nicer person anyways. he was telling me how they tried their best to make a bad sound in soundcheck but the acoustics of the place (a church) wouldnt allow it. they all signed my cd too. what nice people and amazing performers and musicians

I was there, has to be the most solid and joy-infused gig I've seen. Amazing. Perfect sized venue for them too methinks. Close up you can really appreciate how incredibly tight they are. I loved how they shared the stage with the Tenniscoats too.

Yeah, the way they casually joined in with Tenniscoats (got the name right finally). I was told Deerhoof played at a much bigger venue last time they were in Sydney and it didn't do them justice. The Spectrum was an awesome venue. Saw people getting photos with Greg & Satomi straight after the gig. Should've taken a decent camera along. Still buzzing almost 2 days after the gig!!

It's called pop music because popular music stays within certain boundaries that will ALWAYS stick in people's head. At least that's my take on it. I'm really glad I grew up getting bored with the radio and decided to just explore. These guys are one of my best finds by far.

the funny thing to me is that deerhoof stays in my head more than anything i might hear on any given radio because it breaks those boundaries. its new and fresh and exciting and unpredictable.
