Heh I use both those guys. I prefer Ogma cuz not only do I prefer his archetype over Nabarl's( no offence 2 characters like Joshua), but I find Heroes 2 be alot more balenced & less weaknesses.
Nabarl isn't his name it's Navarre and ogma was my best tank and navarre was my best agile strength based swordsmaster i ever had if anything Navarre even dodged people with swordslayers weapons and he critted almost every battle
@Demonhornz they do have it and 12 is the same as 3. Also, u get to make your'e own character in it. Closest thing to "Our tactitions getting a real character" we will ever see.
@ZeldaLink239173 How much HP/def did your Sheeda have? Averagely, she has 38 HP/16 Def. And with a 10% def growth, she is very suspect to def screwage. And she's not close to being a tank at base. Sheeda has severe issues living more than 1-2 hits in her first three maps, especially since the pirates have 15 atk by chapter 2(which 2HKO's her).
Re: As for me, I used Doga as my tank unit. I wasn't waiting until chapter 12 for Tomth, and I wasn't using Zagaro again. He averages 52HP/26Def at 20/20, but I've been insanely blessed. On my last PT, he capped def as a knight by 14/0 and ram-capped it by 14/10 without dracoshields(he capped HP by 20/20 with help from an angel robe.)

Should I try using the same posse on H5 or try to use similar units in my posse on H2?
As much as I like the posse, in H5, Draug gets 2RKO'd until his defense goes up. Nabarl sucks until his str goes up. The others don't need help. RNG abuse and forging would be a must, sadly. And going to gaidens; the arena is much too tough.
Ogma was my tank every time. He killed everything and absorbed tons of damage. Cain sucked, Abel was okay, Frey was not as good as Hardin but still good, and I could see the appeal of Barst, but I didn't bother levelling him up.
@killthemwithfirelol if u put a lvl caped wolf against anyone else 9/10 he wins cause he cant be hurt by anyone but my darros and thats only 13 damage and he deals like 25-30 damage to everyone and darros is an insaine berserker with unreal attack...i think its at like 30 and wolfs def is like 32 and his str is 27. Ive sent them in by themselves and still taken out someones army of 5 cause they couldnt kill wolf and darros killed them before they could strike back.
@HeavyMetalLink05 I don't use Wolf. Castor is much better, but it's a pain to level him up. Darros is okay, but I've been having issue with his Res stat. Barst is the same way, but he's fast AND powerful, so it's okay. Draug is good, but you can't take him into an arena or he'll get killed like every other match.
my friend hacked his and had all lvl capped people so i went through and these 5 r the ones i found best a cap. mine isnt hacked and i dont want it hacked. if i get my wifi back i want to win cause of my skill.. not cause of a hack. but thats just me
@HeavyMetalLink05 One of of my friends tried to play against me in FE7 using hacked characters. He got his ass handed to him. It feels good defeating hacked characters with unhacked characters....

@HeavyMetalLink05 Unreal....imhullu isn't too strong though, but it's strange that his other characters didn't have any hacks. You know what you should do? Save some money, about 90,000, and forge and iron sword as strong and light as you can, then name it "Steak knife". It's funny as hell!
@killthemwithfirelol lol i save up like 120k (from the arena and such) and do that to silver weps OMG they got power. a silver lance in my Wolfs hands does like 36 damage and has a mnt of i think 46 its AWESOME!!!!
@HeavyMetalLink05 I did that with a silver axe, since that's the most powerful thing you can forge. It cost be like 150K, but it was worth it! I almost always has a 100% hit rate! I gave it to Basrt after I got him to level 20. He destroys everything!!!
@HeavyMetalLink05 He's a warrior. I don't like reclassing my characters because it's too painful to see them lose hard earned stats so quickly. I prefer to let the character's starting class determine how good they will be.

@HeavyMetalLink05 I was thinking about turning Barst into a beserker. I heard Jagen makes a better swordmaster than he does a paladin, and I wouldn't be surprised. Jagen kinda sucks after a while.
@Teag1994 Not completely. He can help you recover early on in the game if something unexpected happens, like a character missing on an important attack. Although you'd have to sacrifice him sooner or later anyway to unlock his scenes.
@HeavyMetalLink05 thats cool i played through the game legit and thats what I use online, but my second playthrough i hacked just to see how beastly my characters can really get. only used a hacked team online once because i got matched up with a string of hackers
@Poptartza did u use the hack where everyone has max everything? thats my favorite one and my cousin has it for online matches but only if hes in ur situation. i think hacks would be ok if u used them to get through the game or to make there unhacked versions higher lvl faster but online i think people should just use there real characters just to see how they stack up
@HeavyMetalLink05 I have like 25 characters maxed out completely. I have a hack that makes items 99 usage so everyone is promoted. I used one that makes your EXP 99 at every turn so you level up every battle and another that makes all stats go up +1 each level up. but that was just for fun in my real file a lot of my people got pretty beast. in Radiant dawn my soren maxed everything legit before even reaching lvl 20 3rd tier. I only used 1 speedwing on him and that was it
@Demonhornz Cain and Abel have the same growth stats but Cain makes a much better swordmaster while Abel is great as a paladin Frey is the best guy but you don't get him in hard mode so he doesnt really count...lol
@Demonhornz i beg to differ on frey. he is a better cavalier than any of the others. he made it to lvl 17 first and i made him change class. he is my best mounted character next to caeda, who maxed out her speed at lvl 8
Re: In my latest H2 run, Ogma served as one of my tanks(the other being Roger). He killed everything he touched, and took most of the damage for my team. If one needs to see his stats, here they are:
HP:60/Str:25/Skl:26/Spd:26/Luck:14/Def:21
Got surprised by his defense blessage. Usually, only Roger exceeds that amount(he had 30 Def by 20/11).
I hope you realise Ogma would've won if Nabarl attacked first (which he should have, since if you're making characters fight each other, the one with more speed goes first). <_<
"Who goes first" is arbitrarily decided. There's such thing as waiting out a turn. Aside from that, given the statistics, Nabarl has a chance of getting a critical in and evading Ogma's attack(s). With the added note that it's impossible for Nabarl to miss, Nabarl will win the majority of the time.
This shows why Heroes suck on wireless play. Even with capped speed, they still get doubled(and 2RKO'd) by SwordMasters and Rangers. Though, they ARE useful in-game due to the huge slant towards lances(and the fact Oguma is the best hero).
On Wi-Fi, Oguma should be a ranger and Caesar should be a sorcerer. Astoria and Samson suck. Navarre can stay as he is, though.
To be fair, Generals and Warriors are inferior to Paladins and Berserkers, respectively on Wi-Fi. Generals get doubled by everybody and easily get 2RKO'd by Berserkers. Warriors are in the same mess, except SwordMasters own them.
To test this, I pitted Roger against Barst. Roger was promptly 2RKO'd despite having 60 HP/30 Def at 20/20(ICUNTK, Barts was a Zerker and Roger was a general).
The 14 units on my team that I used to beat the game were: Marth Lord Caeda Dracoknight Abel Paladin Cain Swordmaster (Did really good!) Ogma Hero Norne Sniper Draug General Barst Warrior (Sometimes used as a Berserker.) Sedgar Horseman Merric Sage Lena Bishop Julian Thief Beck Ballistician Tiki Manakete
I was looking at your characters' stats a little further, but I found out your Nabarl got HP screwed. The average HP for a 20/20 Nabarl is about 57-58. Your Ogma also got luck screwed a little; though it's only slightly below average.
I'm just wondering, did you promote your guys at Lv20? If not, then I can see why your Nabarl has only 50 HP.
Nabarl was either level 19 or 20. I recall growing impatient a long time ago when I was playing and promoting a character at 19, though that was probably Lena. I do remember raising Ogma to 20 and not being able to promote him, which pissed me off. Though i do think i did wait till level 20 for nabarl

That's true, but they make the game just too easy. Yes, even on Hard 5. That's how good they are. I usually use Zag as a general until about C10 or C12(That's when I usually promote Draug; depends on whether or not he's Lv20 by C10, if not it just goes straight to Lena since she gets to Lv20 by C9), then ditch him afterwards.
heheh,its too easy if you use them but no matter the difficulty i still find the game fun. you say its easy on Hard 5 but theres still gotta be some parts where you get frustrated
Also, I think the people here need to know what PEMN means (personal experience means nothing). Example: FE10 Astrid capped everything for me!!!!!!!! Top tier right?
Have you ever used Cain? I'm using him on H5 and he's one of my best units, he got strength and defense almost every level and capped strength, skill, speed, and had better def than abel. I really enjoyed using him. But maybe I was just lucky.
Cain? ...Really? He was noted as the worst Cavalier/Paladin in the game. His stat growths suck and all he's good for is sacrifice. Barst has amazing growths as well, but I dont use him because of my preference to stick with Swords and Spears, but yes, Barst is a pretty good choice.
Oh come on my Cain capped Str, Skill, Speed without any stat boosters. Vyland and Matthis are far worse than Cain so don't give me that bs "noted as the worst Cav/Pal." And I always made my Barst a Hero after training him as a Fighter/Pirate.
I'm not too surprised with Navarre's victory. Sword Masters can have 4 more speed than heroes(that Ogma did not have max speed anyway. The stats he did max were Strength and HP)
Speaking of which SwordMaster I used, I used Navarre throughout my game. He maxed Speed and nearly maxed his Strength and HP in my game.
I did a gaiden run for my next run. I managed to get Athena from 6X. She has good bases and OK growths(Navarre has better HP and Speed, but worse Strength than Athena.) But she was a pain to get. I had to sacrifice so many units to do it. I was satisfied with getting rid of Gaggles in Chapter 4, though.
I know, i just posted this like the douche I am. I mean, you know how hard it was to make a link battle to get those two together and not have the other person interfere? I had to get Ogma and Nabarl on both teams and find a way to get Ogma to fight Nabarl instead of Ogma to fight Ogma or something.
That occured to me while I made it. I thought about redoing it with a fairer match (as to make it more intereting), but I thought "screw it" and posted the thing.
Radd... Sucks!? I used Radd seeing that he could be better than Nabarl... he got GREAT level ups, he got 2 perfect level ups! (They were perfect since he can't gain Res. or Magic... >_>) He was MUCH better than Nabarl. o.o
Oh yea and how exactly did you get your two units to fight? In wireless play people can't use loans so how did u get your character to be his enemy. hacks?
Nah, I used practice mode. Unfortunately, i couldnt make a team called Ogma and one called Nabarl and i had to place them on the same team (so both teams had Ogma and Nabarl), and I used blue Ogma to attacked red Nabarl.
you know either one would have won, it just depends on whoever you choose to attack first. If Nabarl would have attacked first it would take Ogma down to 8 and Nabarl to 15. then it would be Ogma's turn and he would strike first, thus killing Nabarl and winning. So you can't decide from that fight of which of your two units are better because whoever strikes first is basically the loser unless one of them dodges.

You were just RNG screwed that run. That is all. Here are Ogma's 20/20 averages in FEDS:
HP:60/Str:22/Skl:27/Spd:25/Luck:17/Def:15
All decimals were rounded up.
His final stats are pretty good. His speed is actually one away from capping and his HP is capped.

I hope you realise Ogma would've won if Nabarl attacked first (which he should have, since if you're making characters fight each other, the one with more speed goes first). <_<

"Who goes first" is arbitrarily decided. There's such thing as waiting out a turn. Aside from that, given the statistics, Nabarl has a chance of getting a critical in and evading Ogma's attack(s). With the added note that it's impossible for Nabarl to miss, Nabarl will win the majority of the time.

This shows why Heroes suck on wireless play. Even with capped speed, they still get doubled(and 2RKO'd) by SwordMasters and Rangers. Though, they ARE useful in-game due to the huge slant towards lances(and the fact Oguma is the best hero).
On Wi-Fi, Oguma should be a ranger and Caesar should be a sorcerer. Astoria and Samson suck. Navarre can stay as he is, though.

To be fair, Generals and Warriors are inferior to Paladins and Berserkers, respectively on Wi-Fi. Generals get doubled by everybody and easily get 2RKO'd by Berserkers. Warriors are in the same mess, except SwordMasters own them.
To test this, I pitted Roger against Barst. Roger was promptly 2RKO'd despite having 60 HP/30 Def at 20/20(ICUNTK, Barts was a Zerker and Roger was a general).

lol i trained Abel and theni stat item ed him, making him my best. i should have done that with frey but you dont get him on hard i dont believe :(
oh and marth is pretty good at frist ALMOST soloed hard 5 with him, but i got to boss and got careless. carelessness + bad RNG luck = :(
yes i used other characters, but jsut to kill them, they never killed anyone, and hardly did any damage.
bottom line, Abel + stat boosters = win (Frey = better), dont solo h5 ch 1 unless you are LUCKY and careful

I was looking at your characters' stats a little further, but I found out your Nabarl got HP screwed. The average HP for a 20/20 Nabarl is about 57-58. Your Ogma also got luck screwed a little; though it's only slightly below average.
I'm just wondering, did you promote your guys at Lv20? If not, then I can see why your Nabarl has only 50 HP.

Nabarl was either level 19 or 20. I recall growing impatient a long time ago when I was playing and promoting a character at 19, though that was probably Lena. I do remember raising Ogma to 20 and not being able to promote him, which pissed me off. Though i do think i did wait till level 20 for nabarl

Gordin is nowhere near the best sniper in the game(he's outclassed by class swapped Abel), but he is at lest useful if your not into reclassing.

Caesar: Dark Mage>Sorcerer
Oguma: Merc/Hunter>Horseman

And as for Est: Peg>Gaiden fodder. Same with Raddy, Linda, and Gordin.

That's true, but they make the game just too easy. Yes, even on Hard 5. That's how good they are. I usually use Zag as a general until about C10 or C12(That's when I usually promote Draug; depends on whether or not he's Lv20 by C10, if not it just goes straight to Lena since she gets to Lv20 by C9), then ditch him afterwards.

i have played through this game 4 times using cain abel and frey 3 times and every single time my cain turned out best.
cain had highest skl, spd, def.
abel had only str and sucked in any other stat.
and frey only had decent hp and the rest of his stats were near non-existent.
cain is the best cavalier out of those 3 -.-

Have you ever used Cain? I'm using him on H5 and he's one of my best units, he got strength and defense almost every level and capped strength, skill, speed, and had better def than abel. I really enjoyed using him. But maybe I was just lucky.

It is possible to get lucky stat ups with Cain, but he sucked when i tried him. Frey turned out to be the best, next to Hardin and Abel.

Cain? ...Really? He was noted as the worst Cavalier/Paladin in the game. His stat growths suck and all he's good for is sacrifice. Barst has amazing growths as well, but I dont use him because of my preference to stick with Swords and Spears, but yes, Barst is a pretty good choice.

Oh come on my Cain capped Str, Skill, Speed without any stat boosters. Vyland and Matthis are far worse than Cain so don't give me that bs "noted as the worst Cav/Pal." And I always made my Barst a Hero after training him as a Fighter/Pirate.

Yes yes, Barst is fine. And yes, Matthis and Vyland suck, but most people don't see Cain as a good choice at all.

I'm not too surprised with Navarre's victory. Sword Masters can have 4 more speed than heroes(that Ogma did not have max speed anyway. The stats he did max were Strength and HP)
Speaking of which SwordMaster I used, I used Navarre throughout my game. He maxed Speed and nearly maxed his Strength and HP in my game.

I did a gaiden run for my next run. I managed to get Athena from 6X. She has good bases and OK growths(Navarre has better HP and Speed, but worse Strength than Athena.) But she was a pain to get. I had to sacrifice so many units to do it. I was satisfied with getting rid of Gaggles in Chapter 4, though.

I know, i just posted this like the douche I am. I mean, you know how hard it was to make a link battle to get those two together and not have the other person interfere? I had to get Ogma and Nabarl on both teams and find a way to get Ogma to fight Nabarl instead of Ogma to fight Ogma or something.

This fight doesn't really seem fair.
It's impossible for a maxed out hero to double a max speed swordsmaster because the hero has a lower speed cap.
Maybe if they were class swapped to classes that had the same caps...

Nah, I used practice mode. Unfortunately, i couldnt make a team called Ogma and one called Nabarl and i had to place them on the same team (so both teams had Ogma and Nabarl), and I used blue Ogma to attacked red Nabarl.

you know either one would have won, it just depends on whoever you choose to attack first. If Nabarl would have attacked first it would take Ogma down to 8 and Nabarl to 15. then it would be Ogma's turn and he would strike first, thus killing Nabarl and winning. So you can't decide from that fight of which of your two units are better because whoever strikes first is basically the loser unless one of them dodges.
