I have a 46in VL, I am still pissed to this day that I bought and I cannot mount it on the wall with the wall mount I already had. I have to buy Sony's Wall mount. Bull Shit.

just got one from walmart, PS3 was included. Store sale only. $998.00 Love it very much. 2nd day of viewing. I also have a samsung 32" LCD and I wanted to go bigger. Ha I thought I had at home a 40" and when I got home I had to some major rearanging.

There is a lot of Bravia problems. I have a 46-inch, V series. And it needs a panel. It was purchased June 08. Will cost $2,200 for panel. Sony won't admit they are many customers having problems. They want to offer three TVs a discounted price, but not better than Costco. If I agree w/ them, they said, "accepting this offer, you agree to release and hold harmless Sony Electronics Inc., and its affiliates.

I have to spend more money on fixing it than getting a new one.

sony is NOT as good as they used to be, since they have gained trust from people they figured "eh, why not sell them crappy ones so we make more money out of them".

Do NOT buy a Sony TV, there are THOUSANDS of people complaining about sony tvs and Sony won't admit that they did a shitty job.

I just get a Sony Bravia KDL456S5100 and I am having problems trying to get a real 1080p THROUGH my cable box, the TV shows 1080i, and if I connect my DVD I just get 480i. Can someone knows about this problem?

@milomancopy HD cable signals are 1080i. Right now the only true 1080p is blu-ray.

Cable boxes only go to 1080i......if your lucky. Most of the time you are only getting 720p from the TV provider.

Your DVD needs to have up-scaling within the DVD player, DVD is native, at most, 420p.

You can have both up-scaled with the right a/v receiver as so long as you don't use HDMI input. Most receivers at this point can only upscale analog inputs.

Actually he's correct the KDL-46V4100 is 60hz. The KDL-46V5100 has the 120hz refresh rate.

i had that problem to: try changing your picture options to this. Pic Mode:Vivid Backlight:Max Picture:Max Brightness:40 color:75 HUE:0 Color Temp:Neutral Sharpness:25 Noise Reduction:auto MPEG Noise Reduction:Low Hope i helped, those are the settings i have and they seem to be perfect for me.

I just recently bought one of these tvs. The HD channels are really grainy, so is the bluray. I called the cable company, they came out and said it's the tv. I'm exchanging it tonight....hopefully the new one works better; if not, I'm switching from time warner cable to Direct TV immediately.

I'm thinking about switching. I exchanged my tv for a new one last night, and exchanged my cable box today and at 1st the reception was the same. Now, the hd channels that I am receiving look great, but now I'm only receiving about 1/4 of the HD channels that I'm suppose to be receiving. Last time I had problems with my hd channels it took time warner 3 months to fix. The cable guy that came out to my house yesterday was a moron. I'm giving them one week to fix it, or I'm going with Direct TV.

I cant find the answer to this anywhere...when you turn on the TV, it displays the information bar at the top for a few seconds. is there some way to disable this everytime the tv is turned on?

u can make it smaller but i dont think it can go away completely. u can also press DISPLAY on the controller to make it go away as soon as it comes up. but dont think u can make it go away completely.
