@chuku2203 I think because they'd planned it themselves. I was thinking the same thing, but it was I guess a thing between Riley, Dave, Ellis, and Heather, since they'd been friends obviously longer than Mclean had been friends with them. A lot of times when I was reading the book, I was like, what if one of them thought that Mclean was kind of intruding on them? Like when she went with them to Riley's house for the monthly dinner thing.

Sarah Dessen truly made me appreciate YA novels again, her books are never shallow or over the top, she doesn't pretend she understands teenagers, and she doesn't make fun of them like many (MANY..) people do, she's amazing, and my favourite aspect of the books is ofcourse the boys, not the sparkling, 'hawt' boys that are portrayed in every book, but real ones with integrated personalities and pasts, thank you Sarah Dessen
