@ThePAkidd Oh yeah, Redford actually maybe outcools Eastwood in this film. He's certainly the better actor, though Eastwood is good and more prolific, I think they are about even as film directors.

What I find humorous is how quickly Butch (Paul Newman) moves out of the way when the saloon owner asks Sundance "Hey kid, how fast are you?"

I will always love how everything changes when Paul Newman says "I can't help you Sundance". That is true movie magic.

@yamsid True. One of the best westerns ever made. This is a classic stand-off for an opening scene. Macon's bravado suddenly deserts him when he realises he's just threatened Sundance. One of those "I had better back down...or I could end up in a long wooden box" type of scenes. Nice shooting, the way Sundance sends Macon's gun skittering across the floor with each shot.
