I was really disappointed how this movie version screwed up the whole point of the story by giving it a Pollyanna ending where Neville is remembered as a hero rather than a monster.
The way I interpreted it: Neville set the trap himself and forgot about it. It's hard to tell mannequins apart, especially from a distance. It's not illogical that he could have used a similar looking mannequin with a similar looking sweatshirt to the "Fred" mannequin outside the movie store. He's been trapping zombies every day for almost three years, it's perfectly possible for him to not remember every single place he's set snare
If you look closely at 0:58 on you would realize that instead of being in the shade which Fred was the suns rays moved and Fred is now standing with the sun beaming down on him. Darkseekers earn a fail for the day

It's just the main character going crazy basically, fred is not alive and even though we saw his head move, it didn't really, it is in Robert Nevilles mind.
I remember watching this scene for the first time. Long story short, I thought that Fred, this Fred in the video, was a zombie (the head move acknowledged this in my opinion) who had found out that they could walk around outside in broad daylight by wearing hoodies. Needless to say I was shit scared when I came up with this, until I realised it was only a mannequin.
@Karmaffix go to 5 seconds where he stars out of the car, the very first time you see Fred, watch his face, it turns. there is also a video that shows it close up. Smith's character has been deprived of social contact for so long, that when he see's Fred standing there, he thinks he may be real, which would explain the head turning. It's in his head, but we see it as a projection of his sub-conscious.
notice that after he shots him and he falls down , a clear like substance splats on the wall , do they make them with water? or was that actually on of the creatures? maybe frozen the because of the light , protected by the clothes and the hoody covering the face from the light? meh , just ideas lol.

@Karmaffix go to 5 seconds where he stars out of the car, the very first time you see Fred, watch his face, it turns. there is also a video that shows it close up. Smith's character has been deprived of social contact for so long, that when he see's Fred standing there, he thinks he may be real, which would explain the head turning. It's in his head, but we see it as a projection of his sub-conscious.

notice that after he shots him and he falls down , a clear like substance splats on the wall , do they make them with water? or was that actually on of the creatures? maybe frozen the because of the light , protected by the clothes and the hoody covering the face from the light? meh , just ideas lol.
