  • sexiest gap-toothed woman alive!

  • she destrpyed a beautiful song

  • i'm not supporting one or the other, i'm supporting both if you like, each artist is unique and therefor they can't make things (not even the same song) exactly the same way. Enjoy the differences, and listen to wathever version you like the most :)

  • I think madonna is giving tribute to a Don Mclean song, so i guess she likes the song, of course Madonna is a free artist who can and have always put her personal print to her work, so discussing on whatever her version or his is better is useless, listen to whatever version you like the most...grow up!

  • @horny4bear so you're supporting Madona or McLean?

  • horrible to me but you know you could like it

  • 4:05 eeeeeem what?

  • This version of the song is terrible. Don Mclean's version is perfect, but this just shits on the original. God, this is terrible.

  • this bitch dont deserve this great song

  • Oh, it sound me strange, I'm used to listening Don't mclean version but this is cool

  • I like Madonna version but she behaves too slutty in the video, but then again she has made a fortune for 20 years like that!

  • Madona forever...Madona Brazil!!!

    yes

  • I like Madonna's version, it's more pop and I'm more pop myself. I don't say I don't like Don McLean's version, it's his song after all! The bright side is that I learned about him via Madonna! So, please, stop the fighting. Madonna is pop, Don McLean is not. That's the difference.

  • hey madonna, have you ever heard of a bra?

  • @minniemouseears

my guess would be that she burned it so long time ago that she even can't remember

  • An interesting interpretation, but I don't agree with the last verse which is supposed to be melancholic, yet madonna sang it cheerily and even added cheerleaders.

  • MADONNA SUCKS ASS

  • Did you know that Madonna didn't want to record this song as she thinks very poorly of America.

  • Queen!

  • madonna yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • @itisShawnP explain how I'm trollin?

  • @itisShawnP so whats your point? You seem to be trollin lol. I do what the hell I want to do.

  • @TubaInferno Shut the hell up o.o Dude, Don McLean put feeling into the music and his singing. Madonna probably doesn't even know a thing about the people this song is about. Don McLean's three heroes of music, were killed, and he wrote this song by tribute. You can't beat the original in this case.

  • @Shadow194 Bro I'm defending Don McLean not ripping. Don't jump into conclusions useless you know what your talking about. What I comment on was how Madonna did a horrible job to the song. I love American Pie; its a timeless classic.

  • @TubaInferno Oh shit, that's weird, I didn't mean to reply to this comment. Someone said that this had more feeling than the original and they liked it better..

  • @Shadow194 bro everyone makes mistakes. Its all cool.

  • She added more feeling as well as her distinctive voice to this song. Madonna’s version is even better than the original. Madonna’s voice power. She looks back to basic beautiful Midwestern girl in this video. Those who blast her for this remake are just hung up on the don’s version. You can’t change the haters minds anyway. I love Madonna’s version of this song.

  • @itisShawnP So what your saying is that I have no right to express my opinion or give my insight unless a prove her wrong? First off there are plenty of musicians that aren't famous and actually learned what music is and how it works. Secondly it kind does matter I know what I'm talking about. Now sure I'm not expert in music but that don't me I don't know a bad song when I hear one. And if you didn't look at my name its "TUBAINFENRO" as in the instrument so yeah I think I know music.

  • Comment removed

  • Madonna only make epic songs!!! :D

  • As a musician I have to say that this was done very poorly. Her singing doesn't even sound like she is trying. I feel that she could have put a little more soul into it. Personally I think she shouldn't have done the song due to the history of it and what the song means.

  • ABOMINATION!

  • So do people actually think this song is better than Don McLean American Pie? Well he's right about what he said about the day the music died and that's right here.

  • @TubaInferno He also loved this version and said it was "a gift from goddess" so stop spreading your hate and just appreciate this version for what it is; a different take on the classic that we all love.

  • @kingoffhej Hate? One is merely stating that the songs isn't up to my personal taste. This is rather my opinion and a fact. How is that hate?

  • @kingoffhej but that is his opinion. His opinion is no better than mine.

  • @TubaInferno if you really thought that his opinion is no better than yours then you wouldn't have quoted him on how he said that music is dying. And it kinda is better than your opinion and mine too in this case given just how legendary and credible he is, if he thinks it's good then you (and others) should stop spreading your hate.. if you don't like this version then just don't listen to it.

  • @kingoffhej I guess your not understanding. Everyone's opinions are bias. Mine, yours, McLean, and even Mandonna; we are bias. In that sense that is why Ii could care less about how much he likes Mandonna's version. And Again how am I arguing? I'm simply placing my opinion. Here is a question to you. Why do you like Mandonna's version?

  • @TubaInferno Both versions can be good, you know? I even like Weird Al's version. All 3 are good.

  • @toptenguy1 Madonna isn't really bring anything new to the song and she really not a great singer; however, I will agree with you that Weird Al's is a great version.

  • @TubaInferno did she bring anything new to the song?

YES She bounced her Money Maker for us! that's about it..

  • @TubaInferno

    one more snob

  • @janeplaindoe who me? Nah, just Like Don Mclean version better. Try finding a reason that makes me a snob.

  • @TubaInferno The music died along time ago, this version of the song just pisses on the grave.

  • Who wants to eat "american pie" in the sins name? :DDD

  • LOS ARREGLOS DESTROZARON LA CANCION

  • Saudades desta Madonna, a de hoje em dia esta perdida musicalmente...

  • Madonna sings beautifully here, but the lyrics really make little sense in this edited version of the song. And the video sucks. But, again, she sings beautifully, and you can certainly enjoy her cover just for the sound of it.

  • ._. oh she put this song in the ground and buried it....

  • the father...the son...and the holy ghost

  • I love this song we used to hang out around the camp fire and the guys would play guitar... this was always my fave.

  • Something is wrong with microprocessor for sound, this song sounds like it is coming from deep in space.

  • Hopeless Song. Devlish rubbish.

  • @2SagesWay

    ""Devlish""

No such thing. Disagree? Prove it.

  • I dont care what don Mclean siad. THIS IS SHIT

  • @CabooseTheCanadian oh shut up! Go to listen to Mclean version then and stop moaning about it.

  • @CabooseTheCanadian Then don't listen.

  • needs more chorus

  • **grabs metaphorical bucket of bleach** **cleans metaphorical piss from Buddy Holly's grave**

  • LOL 4:05, she's riding a gay guy

  • I love this song. I find the original by McLean extremely boring, but Madonna's is great. I do not like the video though. It doesn't fit the song at all.

  • @sowoni1990 McClean's style was more in a Pop/Folk Rock early '70s style and may not be everyone's cup of tea but it was a heartfelt tribute to some lost music stars. Madonna respected the song's composer and honored him when she covered it.

  • @sowoni1990

You'd rather have your music manufactured and fed to you.

  • @castlekingside28 that was actually his song first...

  • @castlekingside28 Indeed..

  • @castlekingside28

This is Don McLean's song.He released at the beginning of the '70s.Madonna released it in 2000.

  • @castlekingside28 you are crappy

  • @castlekingside28 youre a fucking idiot

  • Das einzigste was ich an dem Video nicht mag sind die ganzen amerikanischen Flaggen.....

  • To make this song bearable press cmd-Q or if ur on a pc ctrl-Q

  • This is by far the worst song ever. Not the song itself, but the cover. Im surprised Don McLean didn't say FUCK YOU YOU ARENT DOING MY SONG. But i guess either way if Madonna does a cover like this it;s going to suck whether we like it or not.

  • @DPlusStudents Don McLean said the song was "a gift from a Goddess" so SIT.

  • @CAYOMluver Don McLean isn't the kind of person to come out and "be an ass", but yes, this does suck.

  • @CimarronHorse There's a difference between not being an ass by not commenting or just saying it's "good", and calling someone a GODDESS.

  • @CAYOMluver If he had said she was a dumb cunt, you'd be whining as was.

I gotta hear this, what are 3 of your favorite artists?

  • @CimarronHorse but he didn't say she was a dumb cunt, which she is not.

My 3 favorite artists (I assume you mean "acts" which can include groups) are Bruce Springsteen, Madonna and Daft Punk

  • @CAYOMluver

As I said, what do you expect him to say? This is a shitty cover? Which it is. There ain't a lot of people who'll lambaste someone for a cover of their song. Only musician I ever heard do it is Ted Nugent about Pantera. Hence why you can't trust the artist's "opinion".

Your three acts explain it defending Madonna. Of course, I am assuming you don't really know a lot of musicians anyway.

  • @CimarronHorse You are so pressed. If you don't like the song don't listen to it. Get over the fact that Don McLean might have actually liked it, and stop being such an unbearable snob.

  • @CAYOMluver

I want you to take a take step and read what you just wrote.

"If you don't like the song don't listen to it"

How am I supposed to know if I like a song of I don't listen to it?!

  • @CimarronHorse I meant don't continue to listen to it, don't listen to it again. Let it go. It's just a fucking song.

  • @CAYOMluver It'snot just a song, all of her songs arelike this. Madonna is a cult of personality and is probably the first manufactured musician.

  • I wish sometimes I had courage...

  • one of my preffers songs of Madonna

  • storica :)

  • I don't care, I like this version

  • garbage

  • The older she gets the better she is. Madonna is the proof that talent and age are 2 different things.

  • @AnimeSerafin

    haha the opposite

    you idiot mainstream

  • @Skandinaver92

You see, it's both. Her old songs were better but I like her older voice.

  • @AnimeSerafin

but the new song are so mainstream and only for the money commercial!

  • @Skandinaver92

Yeah, you're right. That's why I listen older music and Indie Music.

  • @AnimeSerafin

what they weren't paid for it? and that was good i suppose

  • @AnimeSerafin Talent and age are 2 different things!? No fucking way! Talent and age are the same thing! Saying you're very talented is like saying you're very old. And old people are also very talented. Talent = age.

  • @ScienceFictionHairdo

I don't have to be old to learn a new thing or to get a new ability, do I?

  • i dont like maddona's version of this song but i appreciate that se gave it life again, so the new generation like me :) can enjoy it's sound's

  • @jelleindark90

If you want to hear the song, listen to Don's version.

  • isn't this song about the loss of 3 young 50's rock n roll singers and the pilot that died in a plane crash and how sad it was because we wouldn't hear anymore new material from them. Madonna is so disrespectful singing this in a way like its tralor trash. Maybe this is her version of singing this is when music went trashy when she started to became a singer. Why is she pulling her pants up at the end, doesn't she normally like to have no pants on at all.

  • @notmaidenchina1 no, its only a line of the song referring to the plane crash, not the whole song :D its "the day the music died" line :D

  • She's the one

  • we need your music queen =)

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!!!!

  • Don McLean himself praised this cover, saying it was "a gift from a goddess", and that her version is "mystical and sensual." So fuck you haters. Madonna is the Queen of Pop!!

  • 6414211332 is a fucking hater

  • I LOVE HER BOOBS ¡¡¡ D:

  • PEACE! =)

  • You are a good girl, but you are too nationalistic and too young...Im 23, once you get to my age you will either realize the truth about your country or fully imbrace the famous german "herenvolk" mentality...Just read more about your countries history and you will realize that the history repeats itself...I think it was actually a german who noticed that - Nietzsche :)

And good night now, we're in the same time zone so I strongly suggest you go to sleep too :D

  • @Njzizskmp I'm not fucking nationalistic. You're the one who seems to think all Germans must be the same. Have you ever lived in Germany? We don't have any such mentality! If anything, there is a collective "Atoner-complex" which is why our immigration laws were always very lax - America and Cannada handpick their immigrants, it is only recently that we started to insist that ppl know our language and have basic knowdledge of how democracy works to *become German citizens*.

  • what does fucking have to do with it?

  • @Njzizskmp Every nation in late 19th/ early 20th century europe showed nationalistic tendencies (british and french collonialism, anyone?), it had to do with the epoche. Italy was a facistic state, spain was a facistic state, it just got *really bad* in Germany because of the aftermath of WWI and the great depression - ppl turn to extremism in times of desperation, it's the same everywhere. It's human nature.

  • @Njzizskmp Well, you can't really talk about the sleeping thing, can you? I know plenty about history. They show you videos of the hideously deformed, emaciated corpses at school and made us visit a concentration camp memorial site to engrain in our heads how BAD racism is. If they really were noticeably more racist than comparable nations like Brittain, France, or the US, how come that a part-hispanic, part-slavic girl like me is studying bioinformatics at the one university that is really

  • the Radical Left, led by Adolf Obama HATES America and wants it to be destroyed

  • @nakedBison69 Oh, leave me be. As you can probably read, I've already had this month's worth of being annoyed.

  • KendrixTermina is annoying

  • @Njzizskmp famous for that stuff?

  • And we both know what Germans think about Turks deep inside....What "early 20th century", most of the things Im talkin about happened recently (1999 massacres, Afganistan occupation, Merkels opinion of multiculturalism). My country has, let alone my family. How I know? While your grandfathers were killing Jews, gays, everyone different,my people were saving them and its not my country killing Muslims in Afganistan right now, its Germany. So PLEASE, dont talk about human right to ME.Danke schon :D

  • And for a GERMAN to call me RACIST while your country sent my ancestors to concentracion camps just because they were "mischling", so for you to call me racist is beyooooooooooooooooond any form of irony....Its ironic in a typicaly insensitive German way

  • @Njzizskmp Also, leaving the controversial war stuff aside, present-day Germany (remember our topic!)definitely doesn't prosecute gays anymore, and *even if it did*, it wouldn't be hypocritic for me to defend them, since Germany's 80 million inhabitants can't possibly be a homogenous mass, and I myself obviously don't prosecute them. Even if the rest of germany was a bunch of homophobes and racists, and i was the only non-homophobe, I would have all the right in the world to defend gays,

  • @Njzizskmp or call out ppl on racism, because I myself am not racist/homophobe. Since when are peple defined by their nationality? How am I to blame for gay prosecution or raciosm that took place before I was born? There is no person who doesn't have a least some racists in their family tree because it was very common in the 19th/early 20th century. All over europe.

  • @KendrixTermina Theres nothing wrong with ad-hominem arguments if they're correct. I cant have a German talking me about human rights, thats crazy, thats beyond crazy, thats very insulting, need I to remind you what mischling is or you dont learn that in german schools? Well, we do, because according to your leaders, all Slavs are under race... It is funny how you talk as if it was one war, not the whole bunch of wars with Germany involved. And we both know what Germans think of Turks deep down!

  • @Njzizskmp Not MY leaders, the crazy dictator who made my grandparent's lives a living hell almost a century ago. I have all the right to talk about human rights because I was never involved in breaking any of them in my life! Would I pick a flame war with someone complaining about gays and moslems if I didn't? I have a slavish Grandfather. My last name is Havlík. And I was never discriminated for it. I had an albanian classmate, he was very popular in class.

  • @Njzizskmp Same goes for the polnish girls who were in primary school with me. My brother has several russian friends. I once insulted a turkish girl's mother (not because she was turkish, I just plain forgot about that) and I was chewed out by several teachers for being so insensitive.

  • @Njzizskmp And as for Mrs. Merkel, (Oh, I wish I had her level-headedness... That's probably the reason why she is chancellor of Germany and I'm just some random bioinformatics student. ) she has stated (last year in the "Frankfurter Allgemeine", I think) that "Germany will see more Mosques" and that "Islam is a part of Germany". And it IS. You know Döner Kepab? It's a very popular fastfood dish that is part of turkish immigrant culture in Germany.

  • @Njzizskmp You practically see one Döner shop in every street, some 10.000- inhabitant towns have four or five of them, and it's very popular. Also, turkish comedians are very popular. Every hospital offers menus without pork, and some primary shools in areas with particulary many imigrants even offer islam classes in addition to the usual catholic and protestant religion classes and ethics classesEven the Gymnasiums (where you need to go enter university) are full of decendants of immigrants.

  • And by the way, I do think that banning minaretes is a very positive example and if we're talking about present tense, you cant prosecute Jews no more because the whole world would stop you, but every single German I talked to is very anti-muslim, you can deny it all you want but you know very well what an average German think of Turkish people :D They might not say it out load, but when you talk to them a little, they open up and tell you what they think

  • My point is, please dont defend the people your nation is famous for persecuting. Danke. Hitler Kaput :D

    Bye

  • @Njzizskmp Why not? It's not like present day Germany presecutes Gays. or Jews. As I said before, gay foreign affairs minister. The guy was even vice-chancellor before the Fukishima debacle cost his party (who favored a somewhat slower pullout from nuclear energy) lots of popularity.

  • @Njzizskmp Also, if the last comment was meant to tease me, let me tell you that I am very grateful to the american troops that forced that son of a whore to do us all a favor and kill himself. He instrumentalized any sort of culture we had ´, causing it to be elliminated along with his crazy regime, thus taking away all our tradition. Not to mention that there isn't a single church or palace that wasn't destroyed in the war he started.

  • @KendrixTermina "Because of alliances", tell that to the people that the German army killed in Afganistan and Serbia and tell that to the German soliders that died in Afganistan, that you're "not part of the war", oh u can cause they're DEAD.... And yea Germany stared World War One by attacking my country :D Im not blaming you or anything, but please dont say that your country is "pacifist" LOL Apart from USA, you're country is the most agressive country in the world right now

  • @Njzizskmp I never said we weren't part of the war. I said that we didn't enter it to conquer, but to help, and that it wasn't "our idea".

  • @KendrixTermina Yes, thats what you said when you attacked Poland "we dont want to conquer, we are just defending ourselves", also when you attacked us in World War Two you said you are only "helping"...

If I ask you to kill a person with me and you do it, does it matter whos idea it was?

  • @Njzizskmp Don't you fucking compare that again. And as to what you said before, how many Germans have you ever met? Two? They're hardly representative, there are racist assholes everywhere. Are you sure it wasn't just your obvious prejudice clouding your view? Hello? Recently, there was a racist asshole bankier who said something against the turkish minority. Cue puplic outcry and the bastard losing his job. (His name was Sarrazin, look it up)

  • @Njzizskmp Also, banning Minaretes, a positive example? So you're not only a homophome, you're also racist against moslems? Oh you poor, poor boy. Go see a shrink to get over your war trauma so you can trust people of other nationalities, religions and sexual orientations again. You'll discover how wonderful the diversities of this world are.

  • @KendrixTermina Hahaha are you living in the world of your own or are you really crazy? I met planty of Germans and you cant deny that Germans simply do not like Turks...Its a fact that you can deny to me, but not to yourself as you know the truth. What did germanys Merkel try to say when she said "multiculturalism in Germany is failiure"? You dont know? But of course she cant say what she thinks openly...

  • @Njzizskmp Ah, more cheap ad-hominem blows. First off, Mrs. Merkel, like any politician, doesn't necessarily represent the people she rules. If all Americans agreed to everything Mr. Obama says, he'd resolved all of his problems. Recent research suggest that the Turkish monority is very well integrated, except for the few ones who don't WANT to integrate themselves. They exist, and they are, sadly, a vocal minority. Even our high shools are full of kids with immigrants in their ancestry.

  • ooops, I mean Juden :))

  • @Njzizskmp Now that is really, really below the belt.

  • So that would be enough by you as far as human rights are concerned.

Aufiderzen, once again...And dont worry, Im not Jewish :D

  • And let me correct myself, 9 out of 10 Germans were fascis UNTIL you started losing the war....But World War 2 was no accident, you attacked us in 1914 and in 1999, so your nation simply is agressive...

Do you know how many people I know personally that were injured by Germans or that have family members killed by Germans? Both in World War 2 and in 1999....

Or ask people of Afganistan how much Germans have changed :D They feel your "change" on their skin every single day

  • Some of the animals are more intelligent than little kids. So, withhaving sex them is more human than gays kissing in front of the little kids, in your logic?!?

Because kids do not know right from wrong...If you dont guide them, they will think what they see on TV or in the streets is right...So if they start seeing gays everywhere, they might want to try it and catch it themselves...Being gays is a disease that can spread if people are not careful, especially when little kids are around!!!

  • So there is no "harm".... So that should also be accepted? If the animal likes it, it makes it ok?

Human beings are not animals... We dont piss or shit on the street, we dont go around naked and we cant let sick and twisted individuals be accepted as if they were normal...

There would be far less gays if they seeked counceling and tryed to get some treatment, if they remained gay after that, then maybe there is no cure, but maybe 1 out of 10 of them trys to get better, most just dont!!!

  • Its same with animal molesters, if someone likes to fuck goats, I dont consider it normal, they can do it if they want to, but to me its sick just like homosexuality(i mean faggots, like I said I dont mind lesbians, Im not close-minded).

Its all good as long as they keep it private, normal people do not have to see it.

  • A cover is supposed to be different, ppl. The artist is suposed to make it their own kind of music, because else, where's the artistic merit? Also, did it ever occur to you that ppl cover songs because they LIKE them and admire the original artist? (perhaps as much as you do?) If she wanted to disrespect it/prove she's better than the original artist, she'd just say "It sux" rather than going through the trouble of recording a song and making a video.

  • @KendrixTermina It's proof of an artist capability if they can make the same words have a different meaning (see truly artful covers like Marina's version of "startrukk", or Tori Amos' cover of "strange little girl) or transform them into a different genre (Groove Coverage's version of "poison", Tori Amos' version of "smells like teen spirit") Okay, a pop song like this isn't exactly the peak of artistic expression, (Tough you CAN make proper art with Pop if you want to, see the latter Lady

  • Gaga albums) but fun stuff has its merits, too. Not everyone is always in the mood for "True Art", stop being so pretentious. What's wrong with ppl enjoying themselves? Also, Covers make younger people interested in the original and might get them to appreciate older music. They will NOT be motivated to do so if you go and insult them by claiming that their beloved present-day music sux. I would never have discovered Nirvana if Evanescence hadn't covered "heart shaped box"...

  • think we should all stop argueing about which is the best version of this song. it's clearly 'the saga begins' ;)

  • how did anyone like madonna? she fucking disgusts me shes so ugly

  • @thedisbatcher Shes' one of the most revolutionary, diverse and ambitious pop stars of all time. How doesn't anyone like Madonna?

  • @ladygagoaway revolutionary and pop star is an oxymoron. She was a disgusting skank who stole other peoples songs and sung them with a mediocre voice.
