Only the street cars have access to that, busses don't.

Really? Are the buses to wide to fit the tunnel or is it just safety reasons? (Overhead Wire etc.)

No, it's because the tunnel is just track only made for street cars. Busses have their own way of access. It's a different story at St. Clair West Station, busses and street cars both enter same way since theres no terminal above (I think).
