i shot my first deer with a remington 7mm-08 it was just two days ago.... dropped as soon as the bullet hit em....not a big hole but it went rite throu the lungs and it didnt even take a step before it dropped! it was at about 140 yds....(im only 13)

Lots of people are saying that that wasn't a clean shot. I guess they've never hunted in their lives. With a 7mm-08, if you nail the thing in the boiler-room, it's GONE. Yeah, it got up after flailing around a little bit, sure. It ran off relatively fast, too. But I guarantee you, if that bullet was soft point, partition, ballistic tip, or really anything other than a FMJ, it likely destroyed most of the lungs and the heart. Deer plopping over dead as a doorknob doesn't happen much.

Shooting animals, especially baited animals, is pathetic. You shouldn't teach your son to be such a pussy. Buy him a good quality hunting knife and teach him how to track and kill animals like a man or at least don't let him shoot living creatures until he can get a head shot and kill it instantly otherwise the animal suffers.
Shooting animals isn't pathetic, putting food to lure them in, isn't nessisarily good. You go ahead and track down a deer and kill it with a knife, I would like to see that happen. Shooting animals in the head is messed up, hit their vitals, if your a good enough shot to hit them in the head you can get a good enough shot to hit them in the vitals and get an instant kill.
I feel that guns give an unfair advantage to hunters. I've killed many animals with knives and have been hunting with knives since I was a kid when my dad thought me how to. My family only eat meat from animals we kill ourselves as we object to treating animals like products and we like to know where the things we consume come from (which is why we also grow our own vegetables, fruit, herbs, grain and cannabis). The other reason I suggest a head shot is that the vitals stay undamaged for eating.

Shooting animals, especially baited animals, is pathetic. You shouldn't teach your son to be such a pussy. Buy him a good quality hunting knife and teach him how to track and kill animals like a man or at least don't let him shoot living creatures until he can get a head shot and kill it instantly otherwise the animal suffers.

Shooting animals isn't pathetic, putting food to lure them in, isn't nessisarily good. You go ahead and track down a deer and kill it with a knife, I would like to see that happen. Shooting animals in the head is messed up, hit their vitals, if your a good enough shot to hit them in the head you can get a good enough shot to hit them in the vitals and get an instant kill.

I feel that guns give an unfair advantage to hunters. I've killed many animals with knives and have been hunting with knives since I was a kid when my dad thought me how to. My family only eat meat from animals we kill ourselves as we object to treating animals like products and we like to know where the things we consume come from (which is why we also grow our own vegetables, fruit, herbs, grain and cannabis). The other reason I suggest a head shot is that the vitals stay undamaged for eating.
