Stuff like this used to get me pretty pumped as a kid, but I realized as I learned more and more in TKD that some of these advanced kicks just wouldn't work in self defense, or full contact or sparring.

the kick can be done by adding a "step" then proceeding. This totals 720 degrees. The same thing can be done with the tornado roundhouse to make it officially a 360. Reality is, the actual kick is usually 180 degrees less spin than its name.

@francys1426 Actually, in tricking it's called a CHEAT 720 kick. That's because the kick itself spins 540 degrees + 180 degrees you spin in the cheat setup u throw the kick from. AKA u cheat 180 degrees to make it a 720 degree twist in total... cheat 720.

@jcvdblld1006 No one uses it because there's too much movement and telegraphing. UFC uses mostly gross motor skills and generally lacks the fine motor skills required to execute high precision techniques.

@MT2FUN all martial arts are good. karate is very useful because it involves lots of punches and kicks. and i have to say yeah when ur in jeans u DEFINITELY cannot do this. but tkd isnt only kicks. only sparring is mostly kicking because in higher tkd you learn a bit of hapkido and take downs which dont need fancy kicks. :P research ur martial arts before you judge. and the flaw about karate is its movements. its very robotic? tkd is loose and amazing footwork which gives the advantage it needs

@dahliing in Korea this kick is officially known as a 540 kick. All my taekwondo teachers call this a 540 kick. Even the national taekwondo demonstration team calls this a 540 kick. The principle is easy, you simply count 180 degrees for every time you swing over a leg.
