HOWEVER, even though some famous musicians have used it within their careers it shouldnt be used as the basis to one's career or to dominate a musical genre. in my opinion, autotune has already ruined the hiphop rap genre. you dont fix a car with just one wrench. dont play music with just a talk box or just autotune. be inventive and create music with many different tools. thats how beautiful music is made

Rappers just rap or pseudo-sing and a computer program does the rest. Both rockers and funk R&B artists have been using the talkbox since the early 70's

@ummiification If you want it to play through a speaker. The talkbox uses your mouth as an amplifier for the effect. If you don't have a microphone, it'll play about as loud as normal speaking volume. You'll want a mirophone to hear it better, however.

Use a mic to run it through the PA though. This is a cool little rig that also acts as a small amp. You can plug it into a cabinet just like it was a guitar amp. I use mine with an A/B switch and run the Banshee & my AMP at the same time........FAT!!!!

you dont get it through your amp..the banshee is a self amplified talkbox. if you want to amplify the sound you need a mic. the only reason that it has a hookup to your amp is so that you can switch from regular guitar playing to the talkbox.

yes, i had a backing track up pretty loud can the talk box was still almost overpowering it. if you set it up with a mic, you need a powered speaker, which you can run a mic to. clamp the tube to the end of the mic and just play like you would without the mic.

A Microphone is a fundamental requirement...the guitar signal goes into the talkbox, gets amplified and the sound sent up the tube into your mouth....you bounce the sound around your mouth and contort it, the sound then bounces into the microphone...so the "talk" sound goes viz the microphone and not via the guitar amp. They never tell you these things when they sell you a product, if they let you know how complicated things are, you won't buy. That's marketing!
