I was a struggleing minority, my wife lost her job which got me goverment assistance with my light bills, groceries, plus increased unemployment check. Obama needs to restore confidence in the market, and also reform the exec bonus system. Some of the execs were returning their bonuses voluntarily, and IMO, that will restore confidence in the system more than punitive taxes could. A rise in the market is needed badly, to improve morale, and to restart credit. Obama is doing the right thing by letting the execs save face by returning the bonuses, while arguing for stricter regulation in the future. In any case, taxation can't be retroactive.

Obama needs to restore confidence in the market, and also reform the exec bonus system. Some of the execs were returning their bonuses voluntarily, and IMO, that will restore confidence in the system more than punitive taxes could. A rise in the market is needed badly, to improve morale, and to restart credit. Obama is doing the right thing by letting the execs save face by returning the bonuses, while arguing for stricter regulation in the future. In any case, taxation can't be retroactive.

These injections of money will only help for the short term. Short term may sound like bad to alot of people but its needed. Here's the deal, I think President Obama has a set of core goals and beliefs that he wants to see come to fruition. Unfortunately, his ideas of opportunity for all and getting the "wealth" of the country out of the financial sector is blocked by all the big business and power people in Washington whom have been running things and making money hand over fist want their bread buttered too.
