I remember seeing one tangled up in a spider's web. Took a stick and saved it. Even though I'm not a fan of bugs, it's better to save it than let it get eaten by a spider. And remember...
@porrsmurfen They really are the best example of how humans put appearance above all else in life. A ladybug is basically a beetle, just like the ones we tend to swat at every day. The reason why we don't is because their shells are red with black polka dots. Imagine if cockroaches had the same shells. Would they still be considered the pests they are today?
@JDtheDrunk I understand where you're coming from, and you can actually see the segmented insectlike body of the ladybug when it opens its shell to fly. The difference between a ladybug and a cockroach though, is that the ladybug is very small, and has a uniquely attractive looking outer shell that tell us it's harmless.
Cockroaches on the other hand, are fast, slink and quite large, and they are also vermin that steal food from humans, thus we swat them wether they have nice shells or not.
@JDtheDrunk It is also important to remember that our judgement of the insects' appearances are the results of millions of years of evolution, not some unique human, selfish virtue that should be looked down upon.
And the reason is quite simple, today if we look close up on a caterpillar or a beetle, they are the perfect depictions of moviemonsters. Our senses tell us to stay away from small invertebrates that could be poisonous, pestlike, or unhealthy to us - thus, we do.
Daww, how cute! I never thought about feeding a ladybug sprinkles, but it makes sense, seeing how aphids are sweet and ladybugs will eat pollen and nectar if they can't get aphids...must've been one hungry girl!
This is cute. I think it was trying to eat them though, lol. WHY WONT THE BAKERYS MAKE MINI CUPCAKES WITH MINI SPRINKLES FOR LADY BUGS?! We must protest.
@StephLippitt I Saw one when im about to go to sleep but sadly I squished it with a tissue and putted it in the trash can D: i accidently killed it cause it scared me :C
Good crap, who is really going to look to their friend and say, "Wow, did you see that video on YouTube of an Asian Beetle chasing sprinkles?!" No one. Yes, technically, it's not a ladybug, but this isn't a nature video, it's an absolutely adorable video, plain and simple. Geez, people can't stop the childish arguments online, can they?
@BrentEatsDiamonds You know, the tomatoes are always *so* much riper at the cool-person-salad bar. AND I've heard that instead of bacon bits, cool-persons get whole strips of bacon! Lucky ducks.
