  • THAT IS THE W OF FUCKING DOOM

  • I agree that the Wondermega looks good, but the Sega Genesis Model I's case looks better in my opinion. :)

  • If you ever saw a WONDERMEGA you would realize how much as this thing kicks

  • 2:02 the "W"/"M" is playing Portal

  • 1:16 is cool.

  • The BIOS for this is on Sega Retro if anyone wants it

  • I wish I could create my own sega CD boot screen...

  • Strange but the piano sounds slightly out of whack compared to my Sega Mega CD (the original chunky one!).

  • This is the same music as the european ver 1.00 mega cd. I recall having it for a my birthday as a kid with night trap and it was so exciting.

I would give anything to be a 12 yr old kid in 91 again :). It was so awesome. Todays modern gamers missed out BIGTIME.

  • @Jamerio3D All models used the same music in Japan and Europe. But in North America, they used different music for each model. Model 1 uses a funky tune, while Model 2 uses music just as dreamy as this one.

  • techno remix anyone?

  • Hello iPod!!! LOL!!

  • For some reason, the music sounds like it's in the key of C, when the Mega CD (JP/EU) sounds like it's in C-sharp. Very confusing...

  • But, compare this to the Mega CD BIOS, this has the EXACT same movements. Strange, isn't it?

  • Wondermega?? :-/

  • I have the Wondermega bios files, but I wasn't able to play Sonic CD on it. If it plays Mega CD and Mega Drive games, it really doesn't make any sense that it can't play Sonic CD.

  • it sounds like sega cd?

  • I had an X-Eye, somehow it was cool but it just didn't have 2 powercords and was thin and rectangular. Just wouldn't do. And wouldn't work a 32x.

I just had to run back to my Genesis 1/Sega CD 1. Yes, I am loyally crazy.

  • WONDERMEGA RG-M1 has RF, C-Video and S-Video. However. this cinsole has not RGB output, so I always RGB mod to inside CXA1145 to outside.

  • The W was a pretty color.

  • Yes that is also my wonder treasure! My prrrrrecious!!

Long live SEGA and the Wondermega! =)

  • That......was.....Epic! *Faints*

  • it just makes me think why the multimega/cdx

    didnt have a unique bios

  • I want the original Wondermega!!!!!! *passes out*

  • I believe I just had a seizure

  • my thoughts exactly

  • same as the jvc x eye just changed the back ground

  • whats a wonder mega?

  • Version 1.00?

  • it says VAV

  • The music isn't playing correctly. That is normal on emulators, but this appears to be a real unit, which is unusual.

  • I looked at the video, probably something to do with Sony Vegas, unless the video author doesn't use Sony Vegas or has a Mac/Linux PC.

  • No, I've seen that on videos uploaded directly from things like FRAPS and Hypercam. It's a BIOS problem in the Wondermega, and likewise, a BIOS emulation problem in the Genesis emulators.

  • No, the sound is correct. It's because it's in stereo. If it were in mono, it would be different.

  • No, I've heard it in stereo. The piano sound is being played at the wrong time on top of itself.

Look, I never meant for this to be a debate, I was just pointing it out.

  • OK OK.

  • I'm just saying, I've heard MEGA CD openings on emulators and have sounded "correct" and in sync with the music.

  • You should get in touch with the X-Cult about ripping that bios. They archive stuff like this of value. They already have the X-Eye and Mega CD Mark-II(Japan) bios ripped. This would be a great addition.

  • i want one as a synthesizer!!!^^

  • If Sega had replaced the Megadrive with the Wondermega (effectively making it a new console) and released the Mega CD as an add-on so the Megadrive could play Wondermega games , they would probably still be in the hardware business.

  • does it say "Put a disk on the turntable?"

  • First is "Checking the disc...", next "Press the Start button"

  • Normaly it would say put a disc on the turntable

  • My X'Eye (US version) says that.

  • Tell me what it says on the bottem in english

  • It says "Please press Start button".

  • I don't intend to flame here, but does anyone think of the BIOS graphics as seizure-inducing?

  • even though i had a mega drive and mega cd as a kid, i always wanted a wondermega. it just looked so awesome!

  • My friend once traded me an X-eye for a game boy and some games. NO JOKE hahaha. It had this music. Unfortunatley he wanted it back :'(

  • I love this console, i saw one once, and now i'm importing one from Japan (I live in the UK and they didnt release it over here)

Hmm, isnt this like, the normal Sega Mega CD startup, but with the writing and the logo overwritten with a different picture? :D

  • "WHOAH! Look at all the cool shit they make that W do!"

  • lol

  • i'm freakin' out

    xD

  • That's pretty much most of the early-90's CD gaming summed up.

The bootscreens were often better than most of the software.

  • So your saying that the Sega CD Boot Screen is better than Sonic CD?

  • Well, he said often, which is unfortunately true. I took out my X'Eye and there are a few good games for it. I managed to find a couple I'd had and ordered a few online.

I had Sonic and never knew/remembered!

  • SEGA brings good times :) I HAZ SEGAH CHOIR ON MA SONIC COLECTSHUNZ GAEMS LAWL xD

But the W is reminding me of break-dancing o.o

  • If we combine Xeye and wondermega.

    it will be the Weye.

    or xmega

  • Where do i get the bios?

  • I really like the graphics on this startup screen. Does any one know if the Wondermega/X Eye were released outside of Japan/the US?

  • No, in Europe were never released.

    xd2

  • Can you send me the Bios for my emulator??

  • Reminds me of Mega CD. ^_^ Memories... gotta love them. 5/5

  • ITS A JVC X EYE

but its funny becuase the JVC X EYE does not say SEGA at all on it, but then in Japan the JVC X EYE AKA WONDERMEGA says Sega

But the JVC X EYE in the STATES can play MEGA CD GAMES AND MEGA DRIVE GAMES. So what is the fucking point...

Just becuase the Japanese are so Gun Hoo about the title MEGA and the Europeans are so gun ho about the title MEGA

    FUCK

  • This is the Wondermega start screen, not the X Eye, which while is based on the Wondermega doesn't have all its feature, and it looks no where near as sexy or cool either

The JVC X'EYE is based on the revised WonderMega Mark II which came out in Japan .

The WonderMega 'can' also play Mega Drive and Mega CD games, and its depends on which unit you buy for the logo's.

The JVC model has the MD and Mega CD logo's on the machine , while the SEGA version (the one I own) does not.

  • @TeamAndromeda Not to mention that Wonder Dog, the character from the England-made Sega CD game of the same title, was the mascot for the JVC Wondermega.

  • @TeamAndromeda the wondermegas pretty fugly..

  • @aaronpourazar ya it does u cant see it noobz look at the top right corner and tell me what it says then look at the JVC X EYE's boot and look at the same thing and tell me what they both say idiot

  • @aaronpourazar In other words also... the X eye sucks compared to Wondermega lol not as stylish at ALL

  • @aaronpourazar It was something about copyright issues i think

  • @aaronpourazar

    You know, it's funny.

I seen this all the time.

But what's even funnier is that the MEGA Drive is the original intended name for the console. 90% of the world new it as that.

Only North America had to *change* it. And only to the name of a Bible chapter lol...

Seriously though. It's the Americans who actually changed it's *original* name.

  • I want the BIOS, please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • that's sex. i want a wondermega!

  • It's only an W making stupid things...

    lol

  • But while doing them, sometimes it becomes an M.

  • Never heared of it

  • Sega Cd boot is similiar

  • The Wondermega was actually a Sega Genesis/Megadrive consle with a built-in Sega/Mega CD drive.

  • Yeah. So you can play games like Sonic CD on the console.

  • @sahguhTDNM ... well, that's stupid. Why did Japan keep it to themselves, then, and sell the MegaCD/Sega CD as an add-on instead of just selling the Wonderdrive?

  • this music kicks ass

  • Most definitely! Far superior to the lame American startup music. The Japanese games were also superior in every way.

  • Europe had the same JAP music too.

  • @RockmanKenny You bet your ass it is! The music with 1 pitch down is even better!

  • I wish somebody could do this to Kega Fusion emulator... This is so infrequent... :)

  • Music is badly made :( But pretty good for console like Sega. Segas are the bestest consoles ever! Wondermegas boot screen is the lamest of sega boots... Maybe its only one lame from sega.

  • I just can't be without loving this music :)

  • then you dont want to live in someware other than north america because everyware else uses this same music

  • JVC X'Eye is the only NTSC (not Japan) Mega-CD (Or its variation) what uses this music.

  • i got kinda dizzy after a while -_-

  • Oh man , they had some amazing games for the japanese market , that they never bothered to port over to america . Mainly some excellent rpgs , guess the translations would have taken too much time and they figured it wasn't worth it . JV
