  • This woman's credibility went out the window after watching her race walk video "tutorial". Be careful about taking her advice as her race walk video would seriously injure a race walk athlete.

  • Can this help me become a better runner? I have Achilles tendon...soreness but am better and think walking---power walking might help as I run with forefoot but can walk without forefoot lead....any opinion?

  • Overall, this is good information but she should have been a little more specific in describing the "leaning forward" while going up hills to differentiate between a bending forward at the waist, which is what you want to avoid, and leaning forward at the ankles with the body maintaining it's proper upright posture, which is what you want. She also could have emphasized that following this technique keeps the hips from swaying side-to-side and that hip sway is something you want to avoid.

  • to power walk, just walk putting everything you've got into it, to get your heart going. For the right zone for losing weight, you should be out of breath, but still be able to talk to someone, just not easily. If you can't talk to someone at all then your over that fat burning, weight loss rate.

  • @nanidiamond yep very!! i lost 25 kgs or 55 pounds in around 3 months by power walking an hour home from work every day. When it got easier, i just jogged until i was puffing again - even if that was only a couple of metres to the next power pole. I also did hypnosis for will power and to help me stick to it. Best thing i ever did!! Go for it people :D

  • yeah and you don't get tired as easily. at least I don't. I hate jogging so it's good that i know about power walking
