I have to say, This boss battle to me as a kid was the MOTHER of all boss battles. playing LTTP I felt like everything was on the line when I started fighting him. That If I lost to Ganon It would mean the end of the world. the same thing for when I fought Ganon in in OOT. the music still sends shivers down my spine.

OoT's Ganon music is so fantastic, I think, because it makes me think of the whole fight. The music is subdued; you can hear every clang of your sword against his tridents echo, while Zelda's frightened shrieks tear through the air when you get hurt. The music sounds awesome, but it does exactly what it's supposed to: it sets the scene and lets the battle stand on its own as well.

@IRNatman I disagree. His design and character are actually very cool, if you think about It. The theme of the wind carrying through the game matches his cloak's flowing pattern and shape. He is literally shrouded in darkness. His elderly design makes him look sorrowful, as though he regrets what he has done in the past. His hair and beard are fiery like his old passions that drove him to evil. And finally, he dual wields katanas. Above all, this design is...human. And that's what makes it work.

Imagine a battle with ganondorf in skyward sword, with the motion plus. You're face to face with the evil king himself and you have to battle with him in a swordfight, wich feels real because of the motion plus! I already feel excited to battle with him like that! n64 ganon scared the shit out of me as a kid. but on in a terrified 'omg this guy is nightmarishly creepy' scared (that was saved for majora in MM lol). no what i felt for Ganon was just paralyzing fear before an incredible foe of unimaginable might. Pretty much what link must have felt in the first few instances of the battle before he realized that he needed to defeat him, no questions asked.

Gotta say, ganondorf/ganon make incredible boss fights regardless of game or age. Their difficulty varies, but there's no question about the utter satisfaction of taking down THE ultimate Zelda villain. And even more so when you ignore every heart container in the game, reach the end, and fight at the risk of a one hit ko with every attack! That...gets ugly...or should I say fun?
