@DivineGaurdian I agree completely! The only song he sang decently was Empty Chairs At Empty Tables. Everything else was very whiney and just not what Marius is about! Instead of trying to draw people to come and see the concert by using a teen pop star they should have gotten someone who could play the part right!
I'm sorry Nick Jonas ruined this for me. And I'm angry. This is my favorite musical and he's barely trying. Considering this musical's popularity and how long it's been running he should not drop notes like he does. It's lazy singing. And bad casting for Marius. The only time they made this song work was at the end when everyone is singing in unison because it's easier to hide your mistakes that way.Jonas can't hold a candle to Michael Ball's amazing performance.
@ShaiHuludisCool3:08 - 3:11 in particular, Jonas' "And yet with you my world has started" just makes him sound totally out of his league. He's high school production material.
Jonas sucked! No better than some middle rate highschool kid. Total disrespect to all of the other singers on stage with him who have real freaking talent. What a fucking joke Jonas was in this.
That little break before Boe sings the last "One Day More" and then everyone sings at once, holy crap. That pause plus just the pure power he puts behind that one line brought me to tears. Good God.
Nick Jonas is a solid vocalist and actor, but as Marius, he fails to bring a certain "oomph", if you will, to the stage. Compare him to Enjolras here and both Boe and Wilkinson's Valjeans, or Michael Ball's Marius. They all have a more powerful quality to their voice, while Jonas seems like he backs off in a "pop"-y sort of way. That's just my opinion, anyway. Jonas does do a decent job, just not as well as the rest of the outstanding cast.
Even though I have never like Nick Jonas, strictly becuase Disney Channel, but this gave me a whoole new appreciation for the artist he is. I have a cmopletely new respect for the talent Nick Jonas has.

@LilWayneMetalGod You do realize this is a BROADWAY musical, and not an MTV music awards performance, right? There is no way that a "rap" performance of "Do you Hear the People Sing" by Lil' Wayne could EVER work- it would be a travesty. I have no issue with black people, or rap, before you get started on that. I think the performer who played Javert was amazing. However, Lil' Wayne raping "Do You Hear the People Sing" would be a far worse affront to this spectacular musical than Nick Jonas is.
Im playing marius in a school production of this, and the harmonys on this song are alot harder than you think. May i also point out, that nick jonas does all of he parts perfectly. I have the script right here. So leave it out will you?
Frankly, this whole cast blew this song. At the end, it is a horrible jumble, with everyone tripping on everyone else's lines. They are all talented individuals, but I suspect they did not have a lot of time to reherse. The other problem is that they have a high hurdle to clear as compared to the 10th Anniversary cast, who just kicked ass on the whole production.
@jobrolover0012 quite honestly i think nick jonas has improved greatly (meaning from his jonas brother groan) but i dont have to point out that he was already very famous BEFORE les miserables so its very possible they casted him for the purpose of attracting a younger audience.
i do kno that the other artists are very talented , and i respect them a lot, and weather u like it or not ,Nick Jonas is part of that group now , and will be practically part of that play and everyone will remember him cuz of that , like it or not, gotta problem ? FIX IT !
excuse u but u dont kno me enough to say im not very bright so back it off hun, first of all u are no1 2 be saying he has no talent cuz id like to see u give a shot mr. or ms. who ever the heck u are. FYI hes only a 18 year old and at his age its pretty impressive that he can sing like , and if i was u i wouldnt be talkin , cuz he didnt get that part for the heck of it , they called him up for it smart mouth. u think hes voice sounds terrible id think id die if i heard u sing.
Im so proud of Nick Jonas, i always knew he would be at the top , showing everyone what a talented guy he could be , and it shows that he works to get what he wants, he doesnt give up. I love u Nicholas Jerry Jonas, always have, always will <3 i hope i meet u one day , i wish there was a way to tell u what i think of u , ur not just Nick Jonas the rockstar to me, ur so much more than that .
@MsNick411 proud? good God he was terrible and what an awful voice and limited facial expresions too. His face seemed to be screwed up through out the entire concert which just got on my nerves in the end. Nick Jonas's voice is just not mature enough yet and it had a horrible tingle in it which is what newly broken male voices have and its not a nice sound at all. I get panick attacks from it to be honest because it is a horrible sound and thats what Nick's voice sounds like.
you must be high, deluded or just not very bright. rockstars aren't pampered little princes who preen themselves in mirrors and can't sing a note right without a computer fixing their voice.
look at the people on that stage with nick. look at Alfie Boe, Norm Lewis, Ramin Karimloo and Samantha Barks. THEY are the talented ones, the ones that work. nick is nothing, just a pretty face being exploited to sell tickets to air-headed little fangirls
i agree that he needs to be louder, he sounds like he's straining to be heard in my opinion. but other than that i feel he did a really good job in the role
nick jonas did fine.....some people opinions are biased i believe. you cant look at the fact that hes a jonas brother.....hes a performer. all those who think he was horrible is just stupid and need to shut up. i was a les mis fan before jonas brothers and i think he did a good job for someone who didnt have much time to train his voice for this type of singing.....he hadnt done it for years and when he did he aws like 8 when he did it.
@NaturalBeauty86 saying that people who criticise nick are "just stupid and need to shut up" isn't a very good argument, in fact it is an extremely bad one.
however, i could give you several excellent reasons why nick shouldn't be in les mis. the reasons have nothing to do with his stupid little band, they are about his voice, his acting and his integrity (or lack thereof)
@RedKingCommandz well thats your opinion....so be it. i think he did great...you think he did bad. oh well. he was in it...cant turn back the hands of time. they asked him to be in it and he accepted. everyone isnt goin to be up to par of what u expect it to be. thats life. there are alot of shows i want to see now and im dissapointed with the cast but the story line is still great and i dont care whose cast in it. i was a fan of les mis and not because of the actors but becuase of the story
@NaturalBeauty86 sorry i was a bit rude before, i just don't understand the minority of people that think he did well, and i get annoyed when i don't understand something. like everyone can.
and you're right, we can't turn back time. it's just that he really shouldn't of accepted because he knew that he wasn't up to par but he still did it anyway.
@NaturalBeauty86 yeah i care more about the show aswell, and i don't really care about the cast, it's just if people like nick jonas, justin beiber or rihanna are in these musicals then its frustrating ecause they aren't deserving of the role.
nick couldn't have "trained" for this part, not at his age, he just doesn't have a good enough voice. not like the people on that stage with him
but it's just an opinion and everyone is entitled to theirs. but this is my profession so i get defensive of it
@RedKingCommandz You're very right - peole forget an astounding voice doesn't just 'happen'.
You work at it and develops over time...as you get older the vocal chords thicken and you get a voice with more breadth to it. That can only come with age. I know - my dad is a lead international opera singer!
Nick Jonas does have a good voice for it's age, but you can hear it doesn't have the same development as the older cast members do. It's not just a case of getting up and singing it...!
I watched this with my drama teacher;who has been trained in this type of singing. She said that Nick's face shows signs of pain because he is trying to keep up with the classical trained singers. And,he voice hasn't been built up enought to handle the kind of singing his part requires. She loved Alfie Boe ,but said there is just something heavenly about Colm's Valjean. Lea Salonja made her orgasm,Samantha barks is good but young. She didn't even know who Ramin Karimloo is... :D
Re: Nick Jonas... I can't stand the Jonas Bros. but Nick's performance actually surprised me in a good way. Granted his abilities are not up to par with the rest of the cast, he has a good voice. He just needs to be able to hold a note longer. He was chosen over many other singers to play Marius. Honestly, he was actually MUCH better than the actor that played Marius in the West End production I saw 2 years ago.
"a little rusty" is not an excuse for someone in a professional theater performance. nick still has a bit of poppy-disney channel left in his voice. its too bad that was still prevalent as he was in this
This is a special 25th anniversary edition not a tour where they need the young audience to boost up sales. Nick Jonas does not belong in the same category as Micheal Ball or Colm Wilkinson. Cameron Mackintosh really screwed up this special 25th Anniversary edition. Nick's voice has no dynamic. From a true Les Misérables fan and have seen them on Broadway 25 times since 1987... Nick Jonas does not belong with the cast of Les Misérables.... Go back to Disney...
I am the farthest thing from a Jonas fan, but I still feel the need to say that, unlike what a lot of people are commenting, he's not total crap. It's just that he is in a role that was completely defined by Michael Ball, who is just too amazing for words, and nick jonas just doesn't have a voice as big or expressive as Micheal's (and he's also on stage with some musical theater legends), so by comparison, in this role, he isn't very good. However, in my book he did a passable (not great) job.
I love this, it absolutely takes my breath away. And to those picking on Nick; shutup. He was asked to do this, so obviously someone more important than some random person complaining on YouTube thought he was good!
nick jonas is a good singer and if he gets some theatre training he will be even better but he's just not on par with the rest of the performers at the 02 hes not rubbish but when sharing the stage with colm wilkinson, lea salonga, alfie boe, michael ball, ramin karimloo etc you have to be better than 'not bad'
i am curently obsessed with les mis and was obsessed with nick jonas a few years ago.... to see this litterally made me stop breathing with excitment.... omfg.
If you think Nick Jonas isn't good, how come he is in the 25th anniversary. He was chosen to do this. If he isn't good and you wanted someone else to play Marius, suck it up! He hasn't done this in 10 years...he's a little rusty, but I really enjoyed it. I think he did great and he is my favorite Marius. I think he should do this again in the future so I can see him for once. I still love him to death! :)
@jobrolover0012 sorry to say that I saw Nick Jonas twice on west end (and he only got that job because he was famous) he was crap then and he's crap now, and he is not a little rusty he has had more rehearsal on this part then anyone else in that cast namely the 4 months he was on west end. just to show you have bad he is he was on west end for 2 months then they fired him, then as a publicity stunt they brought him back but they fired him again after another 2 months. fyi most actors last a yr
@jobrolover0012 I think they chose him cause they wanted younger people to become interested in Les Miserable. He's not terrible, but he's not great either. He's just not up to par with the rest of the cast...
@jobrolover0012 ...........didn't all this jonas brothers hype die? Do you guys seriously feel the need to kiss the ass of this less than marginally talented singer whos 15 minutes of fame have died. Oh you want to know why he is here? BECAUSE HE SELLS TICKETS. BECAUSE HE SELLS DVDS! and in this case gets unless debates done over him on youtube. sigh. Thenardier is terrible too can we all talk about that now?
This musical sells itself. It's not because of Nick Jonas. It's because it's the 25th anniversary! If anything, it's because of Lea Salonga, Alfie Boe and Ramin Karimloo, in addition to the fact that the Broadway cast, the West End cast AND the original cast are here performing TOGETHER in one venue. Now that's EPIC!
@jobrolover0012 I think he was terrible and he and Jenny Galloway just totally spoilt the concert for me. Nick Jonas's voice is just not mature enough yet and it had a horrible tingle in it which is what newly broken male voices have and its not a nice sound at all. I get panick attacks from it to be honest because it is a horrible sound and thats what Nick's voice has because its not broken properly yet. Casting Nick and Jenny was a big mistake. Cameron Mackintosh you make me sick!
@mrandmrsbenton Jenny Galloway has been playing Madame Thenardier for years so they couldn't have got anyone better-she has loads of experience! She makes the Thenardier couple even better-Matt Lucas was a good choice and she just added to the comedy element. She was fantastic in the role. How can you say she spoiled the show?
@mrandmrsbenton Jenny was brought back because fans demanded her and the praise was so high after her first performance in the TAC. So sure, let her spoil it for you, don't recognize her talent, but don't you dare say that millions of fans wanting her back in the role is a mistake.
With that said...whoever mixed the sound on this should be shot with that bullet who killed Eponine. I can't decide if I hear too much of everybody or not enough...it's just...bad.
@Jessicakey93 Ooh, I agree with you about the sound editing. Granted, it could be the Nick just isn't there vocally, but in some of the songs I can barely hear him.
@jobrolover0012 he was chosen so that they could sell more tickets and get younger people interested in les mis. they wanted a mainstream name, thats it. but all that happens is you get stupid little fangirls who don't give a crap about the musical screaming and crying when he sings and saying he is amazing just because they think he is hot.
sorry, but nick jonas does not belong on THAT stage, singing THAT part with all those performers who are of a much much higher caliber than he is.
@jobrolover0012 I can understand thinking he was good (I thought he was alright,e especially towards the end), but the best Marius ever? He and Michael Ball are in totally different leagues (as of now, Nick Jonas could and should improve.
@jobrolover0012 When I first saw this show I actually started off thinking Nick was below par. But I have now watched it several times (because it's brilliant) and my view of him has changed. He grows on you, and after you get used to him you see he actually does a fine job.
@enricohankhenry Since this was in ENGLAND how did it help Broadway in any way?! Plus Jonas was in Les Mis on Broadway before he worked for Disney just to let you know!!
@Manutdcailin Les Mis is a broadway musical, the fact that it was filmed in england just pays homage to it's roots of production. Nick Jonas played Gavroche YEARS AGO, yes he has been singing since then, but there is no denying that he has a voice that was not trained for theatre, and that he is an outright horrible actor.
@enricohankhenry Wrong Les Mis opened in London 2 years before it opened on Broadway . . . . making it a WEST END musical not a Broadway one!! Oh and it is still running in the West End which is more than can be said for Broadway . . . it closed over there in 2008!!
Nick is a wonderful singer. He just sings in a different style than pretty much everyone else in the cast, a different style than the show was written in. He started off in this style but has spent many years in the pop genre. But he is a great actor and he's still got mad skillz. :)
@pixxispad I agree....he's an ok singer but having to sing with the likes to Alfie Boe, Norm Lewis and Ramin Karimloo....not to mention living up to the amazing Michael Ball, he probably did the best he could do. I still wish they had cast a stronger singer though. LoLz~!
So epic, Alfie Boe and Ramin Karimloo were just great. I do have to say though in this song Nick Jonas did not pull his weight, he simply did not have the power. Despite this I still think he did well in this role, and I absolutely adored the song. Thanks for uploading this. :)
@MsJJonas his voice was not trained enough for this. he sounds like a great marius from a high school performance. his celebrity was the only reason he was cast: ratings. its nothing against him. his voice is pleasant, but not ready for this role. i have to say i do like the idea of a teenage marius. its adds great dimention and perspective and poignancy to the character. but a better trained voice would be needed.
Jonas does weird things with his face when he sings. Watch him as he starts singing.

My all time favorite still is the 10th anniversary. :) But Nick Jonas is just amazing in this. I decided to make this the second favorite. :P :D
iDazzle123x 11 months ago

So leave it out will you?
jgrf96 11 months ago
Frankly, this whole cast blew this song. At the end, it is a horrible jumble, with everyone tripping on everyone else's lines. They are all talented individuals, but I suspect they did not have a lot of time to reherse. The other problem is that they have a high hurdle to clear as compared to the 10th Anniversary cast, who just kicked ass on the whole production.
thatcher81 11 months ago
this is sped up- it's in a higher key. really odd sounding
pianonerd2011 11 months ago
@jobrolover0012 quite honestly i think nick jonas has improved greatly (meaning from his jonas brother groan) but i dont have to point out that he was already very famous BEFORE les miserables so its very possible they casted him for the purpose of attracting a younger audience.
oddpecks 11 months ago
i do kno that the other artists are very talented , and i respect them a lot, and weather u like it or not ,Nick Jonas is part of that group now , and will be practically part of that play and everyone will remember him cuz of that , like it or not, gotta problem ? FIX IT !
MsNick411 11 months ago
excuse u but u dont kno me enough to say im not very bright so back it off hun, first of all u are no1 2 be saying he has no talent cuz id like to see u give a shot mr. or ms. who ever the heck u are. FYI hes only a 18 year old and at his age its pretty impressive that he can sing like , and if i was u i wouldnt be talkin , cuz he didnt get that part for the heck of it , they called him up for it smart mouth. u think hes voice sounds terrible id think id die if i heard u sing.
MsNick411 11 months ago
Im so proud of Nick Jonas, i always knew he would be at the top , showing everyone what a talented guy he could be , and it shows that he works to get what he wants, he doesnt give up. I love u Nicholas Jerry Jonas, always have, always will <3 i hope i meet u one day , i wish there was a way to tell u what i think of u , ur not just Nick Jonas the rockstar to me, ur so much more than that .
MsNick411 11 months ago
@MsNick411 proud? good God he was terrible and what an awful voice and limited facial expresions too. His face seemed to be screwed up through out the entire concert which just got on my nerves in the end. Nick Jonas's voice is just not mature enough yet and it had a horrible tingle in it which is what newly broken male voices have and its not a nice sound at all. I get panick attacks from it to be honest because it is a horrible sound and thats what Nick's voice sounds like.
mrandmrsbenton 11 months ago
@MsNick411 talented? rockstar? works? HAAAAA :D
you must be high, deluded or just not very bright. rockstars aren't pampered little princes who preen themselves in mirrors and can't sing a note right without a computer fixing their voice.
look at the people on that stage with nick. look at Alfie Boe, Norm Lewis, Ramin Karimloo and Samantha Barks. THEY are the talented ones, the ones that work. nick is nothing, just a pretty face being exploited to sell tickets to air-headed little fangirls
RedKingCommandz 11 months ago
Dear Lord Alfie Boe is amazing!
butadujo 11 months ago 2
i agree that he needs to be louder, he sounds like he's straining to be heard in my opinion. but other than that i feel he did a really good job in the role
litmickey 11 months ago
Nick's voice is good, but it isn't as strong as the others. He seems like he has a harder time projecting his voice.
piratessfifi 11 months ago
nick jonas did fine.....some people opinions are biased i believe. you cant look at the fact that hes a jonas brother.....hes a performer. all those who think he was horrible is just stupid and need to shut up. i was a les mis fan before jonas brothers and i think he did a good job for someone who didnt have much time to train his voice for this type of singing.....he hadnt done it for years and when he did he aws like 8 when he did it.
NaturalBeauty86 11 months ago
@NaturalBeauty86 saying that people who criticise nick are "just stupid and need to shut up" isn't a very good argument, in fact it is an extremely bad one.
however, i could give you several excellent reasons why nick shouldn't be in les mis. the reasons have nothing to do with his stupid little band, they are about his voice, his acting and his integrity (or lack thereof)
RedKingCommandz 11 months ago
@RedKingCommandz well thats your opinion....so be it. i think he did great...you think he did bad. oh well. he was in it...cant turn back the hands of time. they asked him to be in it and he accepted. everyone isnt goin to be up to par of what u expect it to be. thats life. there are alot of shows i want to see now and im dissapointed with the cast but the story line is still great and i dont care whose cast in it. i was a fan of les mis and not because of the actors but becuase of the story
NaturalBeauty86 11 months ago
@NaturalBeauty86 sorry i was a bit rude before, i just don't understand the minority of people that think he did well, and i get annoyed when i don't understand something. like everyone can.
and you're right, we can't turn back time. it's just that he really shouldn't of accepted because he knew that he wasn't up to par but he still did it anyway.
RedKingCommandz 11 months ago
@NaturalBeauty86 yeah i care more about the show aswell, and i don't really care about the cast, it's just if people like nick jonas, justin beiber or rihanna are in these musicals then its frustrating ecause they aren't deserving of the role.
nick couldn't have "trained" for this part, not at his age, he just doesn't have a good enough voice. not like the people on that stage with him
but it's just an opinion and everyone is entitled to theirs. but this is my profession so i get defensive of it
RedKingCommandz 11 months ago 2
@RedKingCommandz You're very right - peole forget an astounding voice doesn't just 'happen'.
You work at it and develops over time...as you get older the vocal chords thicken and you get a voice with more breadth to it. That can only come with age. I know - my dad is a lead international opera singer!
Nick Jonas does have a good voice for it's age, but you can hear it doesn't have the same development as the older cast members do. It's not just a case of getting up and singing it...!

lisambofoh 11 months ago
I watched this with my drama teacher;who has been trained in this type of singing. She said that Nick's face shows signs of pain because he is trying to keep up with the classical trained singers. And,he voice hasn't been built up enought to handle the kind of singing his part requires. She loved Alfie Boe ,but said there is just something heavenly about Colm's Valjean. Lea Salonja made her orgasm,Samantha barks is good but young. She didn't even know who Ramin Karimloo is... :D
Kotoko123456 11 months ago
Alfie Boe-Great Valjean!
Norm Lewis-Holy Articulate! But what can i say, you cant be Javert without perfect diction. Long live chocolate Javert!
Matt Lucas and Jenny Galloway-HILARIOUS! Matt really brings out the sleeze in Thenardier
Nick Jonas-ALOT better than I expected him to be. I have alot more respect for him now
Katie Hall-Not my favorite kind of shrill
Samantha Barks-BEAUTIFUL and soooooo talented and beautiful, did i mention she was beautiful?
Ramin Karimloo-I just had an orgasm

Re: Nick Jonas... I can't stand the Jonas Bros. but Nick's performance actually surprised me in a good way. Granted his abilities are not up to par with the rest of the cast, he has a good voice. He just needs to be able to hold a note longer. He was chosen over many other singers to play Marius. Honestly, he was actually MUCH better than the actor that played Marius in the West End production I saw 2 years ago.
gidgetdarcy 11 months ago 2
Phenomenal song, unspeakably amazing performace by Alfie Boe in particular. His voice is monumental.

Chiuboy71 1 year ago
I am the farthest thing from a Jonas fan, but I still feel the need to say that, unlike what a lot of people are commenting, he's not total crap. It's just that he is in a role that was completely defined by Michael Ball, who is just too amazing for words, and nick jonas just doesn't have a voice as big or expressive as Micheal's (and he's also on stage with some musical theater legends), so by comparison, in this role, he isn't very good. However, in my book he did a passable (not great) job.

nick jonas is a good singer and if he gets some theatre training he will be even better but he's just not on par with the rest of the performers at the 02 hes not rubbish but when sharing the stage with colm wilkinson, lea salonga, alfie boe, michael ball, ramin karimloo etc you have to be better than 'not bad'

jobrolover0012 1 year ago 57
@jobrolover0012 sorry to say that I saw Nick Jonas twice on west end (and he only got that job because he was famous) he was crap then and he's crap now, and he is not a little rusty he has had more rehearsal on this part then anyone else in that cast namely the 4 months he was on west end. just to show you have bad he is he was on west end for 2 months then they fired him, then as a publicity stunt they brought him back but they fired him again after another 2 months. fyi most actors last a yr
composerbeef 1 year ago
@jobrolover0012 I think they chose him cause they wanted younger people to become interested in Les Miserable. He's not terrible, but he's not great either. He's just not up to par with the rest of the cast...
ndebbiegirl 1 year ago
@jobrolover0012 ...........didn't all this jonas brothers hype die? Do you guys seriously feel the need to kiss the ass of this less than marginally talented singer whos 15 minutes of fame have died. Oh you want to know why he is here? BECAUSE HE SELLS TICKETS. BECAUSE HE SELLS DVDS! and in this case gets unless debates done over him on youtube. sigh. Thenardier is terrible too can we all talk about that now?
Goodyearmonkey 11 months ago
@Goodyearmonkey
Now that's EPIC!
gidgetdarcy 11 months ago
@jobrolover0012 I think he was terrible and he and Jenny Galloway just totally spoilt the concert for me. Nick Jonas's voice is just not mature enough yet and it had a horrible tingle in it which is what newly broken male voices have and its not a nice sound at all. I get panick attacks from it to be honest because it is a horrible sound and thats what Nick's voice has because its not broken properly yet. Casting Nick and Jenny was a big mistake. Cameron Mackintosh you make me sick!
mrandmrsbenton 11 months ago
@mrandmrsbenton Jenny Galloway has been playing Madame Thenardier for years so they couldn't have got anyone better-she has loads of experience! She makes the Thenardier couple even better-Matt Lucas was a good choice and she just added to the comedy element. She was fantastic in the role. How can you say she spoiled the show?
RoseTylerxx 11 months ago
@mrandmrsbenton Jenny was brought back because fans demanded her and the praise was so high after her first performance in the TAC. So sure, let her spoil it for you, don't recognize her talent, but don't you dare say that millions of fans wanting her back in the role is a mistake.
With that said...whoever mixed the sound on this should be shot with that bullet who killed Eponine. I can't decide if I hear too much of everybody or not enough...it's just...bad.
Jessicakey93 11 months ago
@Jessicakey93 Ooh, I agree with you about the sound editing. Granted, it could be the Nick just isn't there vocally, but in some of the songs I can barely hear him.
meginmd 10 months ago
@jobrolover0012 he was chosen so that they could sell more tickets and get younger people interested in les mis. they wanted a mainstream name, thats it. but all that happens is you get stupid little fangirls who don't give a crap about the musical screaming and crying when he sings and saying he is amazing just because they think he is hot.
sorry, but nick jonas does not belong on THAT stage, singing THAT part with all those performers who are of a much much higher caliber than he is.
RedKingCommandz 11 months ago
@jobrolover0012 I totally agree. =} It's nice to finally see some NICE comments about Nick instead of all of them saying he sucks. He was INCREDIBLE.
xUnderneathThisSmile 11 months ago
@jobrolover0012 I can understand thinking he was good (I thought he was alright,e especially towards the end), but the best Marius ever? He and Michael Ball are in totally different leagues (as of now, Nick Jonas could and should improve.
Playstation72 11 months ago
@jobrolover0012 When I first saw this show I actually started off thinking Nick was below par. But I have now watched it several times (because it's brilliant) and my view of him has changed. He grows on you, and after you get used to him you see he actually does a fine job.
CuddlyGayBear 10 months ago
@jobrolover0012 He was chosen to do it for publicity. Broadway is dying, so they did what they could to turn heads.
enricohankhenry 9 months ago
@enricohankhenry Since this was in ENGLAND how did it help Broadway in any way?! Plus Jonas was in Les Mis on Broadway before he worked for Disney just to let you know!!
Manutdcailin 9 months ago
@Manutdcailin Les Mis is a broadway musical, the fact that it was filmed in england just pays homage to it's roots of production. Nick Jonas played Gavroche YEARS AGO, yes he has been singing since then, but there is no denying that he has a voice that was not trained for theatre, and that he is an outright horrible actor.
enricohankhenry 9 months ago
@enricohankhenry Wrong Les Mis opened in London 2 years before it opened on Broadway . . . . making it a WEST END musical not a Broadway one!! Oh and it is still running in the West End which is more than can be said for Broadway . . . it closed over there in 2008!!
Manutdcailin 9 months ago
@Manutdcailin Yes it opened on the west end, like I said in my comment, but most people know it for it's run on broadway, not the west end.

MsJJonas 1 year ago 4
@MsJJonas his voice was not trained enough for this. he sounds like a great marius from a high school performance. his celebrity was the only reason he was cast: ratings. its nothing against him. his voice is pleasant, but not ready for this role. i have to say i do like the idea of a teenage marius. its adds great dimention and perspective and poignancy to the character. but a better trained voice would be needed.
