  • Sounds like you're playing under water.

  • When I was taking lessons, my bass teacher taught me a method of plucking where the thumb rests over top of the strings when you are playing rather than on the pick up. Have you ever done that before? I find it makes it much easier to mute unwanted strings.

  • @sammysosa2454 I do sometimes yes, though I find it easier to mute the strings with my left hand, plus I get more support using my pickup :) Good advice though - I taught myself so my technique is probably all 'wrong'!

  • cool! -thanks I've learned something today. ;-)

  • You did great !!! but maybe your tone will be better if you didn't rest your thumb on the pick up.

  • @SolomonKLL It makes no difference :P All that makes a difference is where my fingers actually are along the strings :)

  • @SolomonKLL Resting your thumb on the (neck, if available) pickup is the suggested method by many bassists such as Billy Sheehan, Steve Rodby, and Gerald Veasley.

  • ...i think you need to play the seinfeld theme with that effect on.

  • Hah this is awesome!!! I also like the dance you got going there ;]

  • To the ones that look for efficient effects or synth emulator you could try to use a Linux distribution like Tango Studio (the one i use for its compatibility and stability) or Ubuntu Studio and others with real time engine.

Tons of ready to use effects that are include in this OS ... FOR FREE ;-)

Of course you have other OS like Windows, Mac OS but you will loose the benefit to use these softwares for free.

You will find demos in Youtube.
