  • Peaceful protest my ass. Did anybody remember THEY SET A FUCKING BUILDING ON FIRE?!?!?

  • Firing on the crowd was definitely not smart, however, there should be no reason why they were protesting the war! If you truly believe that the war was unnecessary then fine, but don't protest the war. Instead SUPPORT the troops that were fighting and dying on a daily basis for your country.

  • So much for rule of law. Speack out against the war or engage in petty vandilism and get gunned down. Anyone who defends this is just as brutal as the communist they denounce. Honestly I don't get why the famlies did'nt retaliate, if my kid had been gunned while heading to class their would be blood, blood of guardsmen, and blood of the judge who let them off.

  • I'm sick and tired of hearing the "innocent" students defended. They weren't there to NOT start trouble. They WANTED trouble. That was their tactic. To cause enough trouble to where it would make national news. They got it.

  • Well yes if you surround soldiers and march on them they will be scared and start defending themselves by shooting you. I'm not happy someone died but those Marxists asked for it and they got it. They are lucky though. Most any other country on Earth and they would all be taking dirt naps.

  • Communism was virtually a myth spread by the US to ensure it's grip on the world through economic enslavement of third world countries. There is only one true evil in this world, and it owns the world. We are ready to take it down.

  • Lol I actually joined the Guard from a add on this very video. I saw it there took a look and loved the idea of being in the guard so a little while later I joined and I love it. All you faggot hippies remember this the guardsmen where declared innocent overwhelmingly. Hahahaha and a poll that yeas said only like 10% supported the hippies 33% supported the guard and the rest had no opinion. So fuck ya'll and go guard.

  • Can some tell me who is doing the singing on this clip? Thank you.

Also, I remember this very well, the students had a RIGHT to be there, NOT the NG!!!!

  • You might think that those are over, but not. On April 11, 2002 , a massive demonstration walked towards the Venezuelan Presidential Palace to protests against the continuous violation of the people's basic constitutional rights. The president, Lieutenant Colonel Hugo Chavez, ordered the Venezuelan Army to stop the flood of more than 500,000. The Army said NO, so he ordered his paramilitary, Círculos Bolivarianos, to shoot at the demonstrators. More than 20 dead, more than 100 wounded.

  • Wow, deep.

  • HAPPY KENT STATE EVERYONE!!!!

  • Remember the Brave National Guardsman on this day. They fought the Anti-Americans to protect this great nation.

  • Honestly anyone who is protecting the National guard on this board is incredibly ignorant... This is why so many countries hate the U.S.

    Thanks for the bad rep.

  • @lilhawk10 fuck all the other countries bitch were America and still the toughest kid on the block, we will kill anyone who challenges us.

  • @ryancicocki let me guess you're a racist ignorant prick from Oklahoma?

  • @lilhawk10 Well no. I'm from Ohio and I have a a lot of black friends so wrong on both counts.

  • the guy that sings this song is awful!! who ever gave him a contract needs some ears.

  • @daredfoxchick889 though that's true, I don't think that's the point. It doesn't matter what his voice sounds like, it's the message he's sending.

  • @ jaybirdzz - you cant "read" oral history.

  • @soyuski Yes you can. The Kent State Library transcribed the oral statements provided long ago. You can read the transcripts of oral statements provided by witnesses on the net. You cannot listen to the actual oral statements given.

  • Wow even now people still think that the students were I quote "hippies" and "lunatics" I don't understand how people can be so very close minded about this

  • Somewhere in that chaos is Jerry Casale who was near Alison Krause (?) when she died. Jerry stopped being a hippie and co-founded very soon after Devo.

  • @Khultan Christ, at least I used punctuation. Btw, co-founded? It's a band not an organization.

  • 1. The song sucks 2. These hippies are hypocryts, they burned down a building and harrassed the ROTC, who are just other students. 3. If it's the national guard and not the police, you better get the fuck out of there. These kids were too inspired and liberal to even expect them to use lethal force in a situation like this, and I don't blame them for using it.

  • @lambertd90 You really got a problem You're not making much sense anyhow. Troll.

  • @lambertd90 You don't blame them for using it? What kind of nut are you? No one did anything that warranted being killed! Are you some brainwashed ex-military person?

  • Fucking conservative loonies. I thank god everyday that I don't live in america.

  • They should have also shot the dude who sings this song.

  • FAKE AND GAY

  • I have a perspective of one who was on campus that day in May forty years ago, I was in class about four hundred yards away. I find it ludicrous that I could be DEAD because I showed up for class that day..killed by an errant high velocity military rifle bullet-an innocent bystander like at least one of the victims. High powered military rifles were not meant for crowd control. let's put out a fact here-It's Prof. Glenn Frank, not FRANKS.As a native Kentite, I mourn the loss of our innocence.

  • 4 all you jerks, the students had a point. the army was killing innocent vietnamese civilians! Would you have sat at home if you knew that was happening? And plus I have lots of hippie friends and they're awesome.

  • This was a failure by the students. They ended nothing! The fact they got shoot at and did nothing is the reason nothing has changed except for the location of the war to the middle east. Foolish americans think you have free speech...YOUR DUMB! What happened that day is the kids need to take to arms! This is why we have freedom of speech PLUS the right to bare arms. People that dont agree are clueless and im truely sorry you dont understand the world

  • @justindparks - It wasn't "up" to the students to end the Vietnam War. They wanted the President and all the other politicians to stop this needless war and to take arms against the national guard would've been extremely stupid because the real slaughter would've happened. You can't always fight force with force and to retaliate against something like this, you would definitely die. Bullets was not the answer and half the time, it never is.

  • how is trying to burn a building peaceful protest?

  • @shadowplay93 Same as I was thinking.

  • @GeorgeVreelandHill - The Vietnam War was not started by the students. We all have to thank President Kennedy for that. Man...talk about a wasted narrow mind...

  • @gts409 President Kennedy didn't "start the war", congress did, and although at the time it seemed to be an unnecessary war history shows us that it was vital to prevent the bomb that was Indochina from exploding.

  • The burning of that building was a message to the rest of the country and that was to listen to us (the hippies)

  • A sad day, but the students burned a building, damaged property, rioted and more.

If they did that to my property, I would have had a legal right to shoot and kill.

And I would have done so.

Do not blame the National Guard.

    Blame the students.

    They started it all.

    George Vreeland Hill

  • lol these hippies are proud that they attacked american soldiers

  • WTF would this be attacked by vote bots? I mean, who cares anymore?

  • i live here in Kent, Ohio. this is so sad. /:

  • Hey, scary stuff, but do you know who wrote the song?

  • wat is the name of the sound

  • So tragic. So hard to believe the Nat'l Guard would fire into a group of STUDENTS on campus, as if they were in some COMMUNIST country! I just have to wonder what exactly they thought they were "defending" when they murdered those American students...

  • @emaleariel What were these nasty protesting students thinking by destroying a campus and threatening lives, like some communist rabble? You can disagree with your government, but not be subversive in the process, and certainly not super dangerous.

  • The people were told to evacuate the grounds, they didn't the NG had EVERY right to do what they did. They are lucky not more died. Personally I don't feel bad, grew up in Kent my entire life. Heard many stories, but definitly are goign to believe my Mom, and my Dad who was on campus that morning.,

  • if there were no orders for the NG to use arms why were the guardsmen carrying loaded weapons, ready to fire bullets?

The government lied, and still lies.

  • Why wont you fuck for brains conservatives understand that the governor of Ohio gave explicit consent for the national guards to use deadly force. And even if he didn't since when do Rioters armed with nothing more than a few rocks from the ground and their picket signs pose any legitimate threat to the national-fucking-guard. Read the reports, not a single National Guard was hurt that day... makes you think doesn't it? If it doesn't then you need to kill yourself because you're a awful person

  • compared to the labor uprisings in early 20th century WV, this was no massacre

  • Name ONE bad thing hippies had accomplished in America. All they ever did was secure civil rights, help forward the anti-war movement, support pro-prole anti-corporation economics, etc.

  • who sang this song and what is the title?

  • This isn't about Communism. It's about killing. War is not the answer.

  • Commie hippies are responsible for the Khmer Rouge genocide in Cambodia.

  • No, the Khmer Rouge was a result of the continuous bombing of civilians the commie hippies were trying to stop. Because Nixon decided the best way to save the Cambodian people was to bomb the shit out of them, the Cambodian people were energized against the American people. So they turned to the craziest guy they could find who promised the destruction of America. That happened to be Pol Pot, who executed anyone who was educated enough to read Marx and Engels. So don't pin his crimes on us.

  • @commissarusa

Wrong and that excuse is old and invalid.

Nixon was bombing your heroes the N.V.A. hiding along the border and Pol Pot was sponcered by them at the time. The Cambodian people hated Lon Nol and they thought Pol Pot was bringing back Sihanouk but they were wrong. And you hippies supported them.

  • They killed a lot of civilians in the process, and violated a lot of international treaties and laws by secretly bombing a neutral country. The bombing wasn't the only reason for the rise of the Khmer Rouge, but it brought the country closer to the Cambodian Civil War which Sihanouk wanted to to avoid. Guess who won that.

  • @commissarusa

The reason the bombing was secret is because of you hippies running amok for the N.V.A..

It had to be done though.

We could not allow cambodia to be used by the NVA and you know what, those KR's that trained under the Viets were sent to the high school where they were tortured along with their families and then killed in the mass graves. You Socialist just eat your own.

  • The hippies never supported the NVA or the KR, they just wanted America out of the war. The NVA and the KR weren't socialists either. Putting a red star on your hat doesn't make you a socialist. Marx said "democracy is the road to socialism" and that capital punishment could not be justified in a society calling itself civilized. Also, nice name. Are you a Nazi?

  • I'd rather be a Nazi than a Hippy.

  • @freddyforpresident

Great, better to torture and kill millions than to preach love and forgiveness, right?

  • LMAO!

  • largelester :your soldiers who murdered overseas,do not protect you at home.

  • For VC CTENAR1970:

In them to protect your nation [Vietnam], of cursed vietcongs and also to protect our nation the USA of the Communists. Yes, we kill our enemies. With honor and pride. Accepted an orange juice cup Vietcong? [rsrsrsrsrsrsr

  • You killed our people,we killed your young soldiers.that was the war.The difrence was :our veterants have respect of all nation, your veterans were called baby killers

  • FOR VC CRIMINAL WAR 50POIUYT: Communist criminal, defends the communist military dictatorship of the Vietnam. Either man in the life and goes to defend the human rights and the democracy in the Vietnam. You and Pol Pot of Cambodia are murderous cowards, who live in the luxury and the people of the Vietnam lives in the Misery and the dictatorship.

    DEMOCRACY FOR THE VIETNAM

    SAT CONG

  • @pedrolegion - don't you rely it was the vietnamese who were actually responsible for finally putting an end to pol pot? It wasn't the Americans.

  • A salute to all of those killed or wounded by the storm troopers of the Fatherland.

A special salute to the Young man laying dead in the street with the girl in anquish over him.

He was Jeffery Glen Miller of Plainview, Long Island & the kid brother of my friend Russel Miller. His Mother worked in the Plainvew High School office & his stepfather was my guidance councelor.

The funeral procession down Old Country Road was attended by most of the town & radicalized thousands..

  • this was the mass media's fault. our media should support our national war efforts and not stir up controversy just to get higher ratings. if we had a mandatory service requirement for every male before college, i know the media would stop spewing most of their pro communist anti-american crap because their parents would take them off the air "how dare you call jr a baby killer!!" when he's risking his life protecting us.

  • is this what you really think. that just because we want a world that doesn't have bombs dropping all over it that we're communists. you right wing asshole! Fascist!

  • please read what i wrote. if we didn't have soldiers protecting us the communists and arabs would attack and conquer us. they would rob, kill , imprison and or rape each and all of us Americans: commie or patriot, democrat or republican. just have some appreciation for our troops who risk it all so we can sit here and type.

  • @badboy2o0o0o fascism is a left wing party. The only ties it has to the right is the support of family values such as the important role of the mother and things of that sort. It is more closely related to socialism where the government controlled the business sector of the country. Fascism is not as far to the left as socialism but no where near the center.

  • I would like to nominate "largemolester" for pubic orifice if I might.

  • You listen to too much talk radio, and your brain has turned to mush.

  • i agree. Think about it this way. Would the U.S have won WW2 if the media was allowed to run ramped and bash how the war was out of our favor for the first year? Liberal media is destroying our nation. Freedom aint free. Americans have lost sight of that fact thinking the world can "just get along." Peace is ideal, but ideals are NEVER reached.

  • May I ask what song this is? I haven't been able able to find it elsewhere.

  • And to HippieKillingMonster and Matrix11590. The two of you are no better than ignorant racists. You understand NOTHING about hippies or what being a hippie was all about. Hippies were peace loving people. They WERE NOT violent and destructive. Unlike too many of the people that live in this world TODAY. Rapists, murderers, child molesters...the list goes on and on. I say we pay more state taxes to build more jails to lock the REAL monsters up in.

  • And at least those of us that grew up during those years were OUTRAGED that 47,800 of our military lost their lives over some bullshit war that we didn't even belong in. We were OUTRAGED that our Vietnam Veterans were treated like dogs by our government when they returned from Vietnam. We were OUTRAGED that 4innocent students lost their lives at Kent State because of some overzealous, trigger happy National Guardsmen that had no business firing into that crowd. WE CARED.

  • Tell it Sister! What we were feeling was HURT along with the OUTRAGE. It HURTS when there's no more room for denial that your government has completely BETRAYED you. I still can't believe Nixon went into Cambodia. Gee, he PROMISED not to escalate the war! What you're seeing in these students is PAIN which is the root of OUTRAGE. IT JUST HURT SO BAD! To be a frontline witness to the death of the American illusion of FREEDOM.. We have a fucking right to assemble.

  • To all those who make reprehensible remarks about hippies, you don't know your butts from a hole in the ground. At least those of us that grew up during the late 60's/70's CARED about what was going on in this world. Unlike these stupid preps and yuppies in this current time that only care about image and money. At least those of us that grew up then were willing to STAND UP and SPEAK OUT against something that we knew was WRONG. The Vietnam War had NOTHING to do with this country.

  • Democracy - the Latin of 'Demos' = the peoples voice ! We live in a world of so called democracy but when we look our voices are ignored - the Kent state massacre , the recent G2 summit ! Why become a democracy if we cannot use the freedom of speech we have!

  • @yorkyboy1992 #1 were a republic. #2 the 1st amendment guarantees the right of peaceful protest not burning down building and stoning national guard soldiers. If they were just bitching and holding up signs no one would have cared and the national guard wouldn't have been deployed.

  • True that. So what if freedom of speech is a human right and is guaranteed in the US Constitution. America is the greatest because it's so great and no one should question that.

    *sarcasm*

  • Anyone who reads the oral history will realize that some true heroes emerged that day. After the shootings, hundreds of angry students were prepared to attack the guardsman. A larger and bloodier confrontation was likely. Faculty marshals, led by a Prof. Franks, obtained permission to speak with the crowd. They convinced the students to peacefully disperse, and no additional shots were fired that day. On the 40th anniversary of this tragedy, these faculty members should be honored.

  • I could agree with that. I don't think violence solves anything.

  • @jaybirdzz

The real heroes were the brave guardsmen that shot these smelly hippies down.

  • @shorttimer09 "The real heroes were the brave guardsmen that shot these smelly hippies down."

Yes, it's true conservatives believe that it is considered "brave" to shoot a loaded weapon at unarmed civilians.

At the root of all conservative thinking, philosophy & action, is the philosophy, thoughts & actions of a bully. That truly is what conservatives are: ittle more than bullies preying on the defenseless and the weak. Bullying also forms the basis of America's foreign policy.

  • @matrix11590 Your comment is repugnant to the Constitution. Does that mean we should shoot you too?

  • @NidisListenstoShit I support the United States of America, these fuckholes just caused trouble. They don't know jack shit of what the US soldiers have faced during in Vietnam and they treated the soldiers like garbage.

  • @matrix11590 You're a complete fucking scumbag.

  • @spackhollogay Nah you are fucktard.... Badmouthing the United States of America... These fucktards should've defected to the Soviet Union so they can help bring America down but they're too stupid. All of the drugs have gone to their head and your head as well.... GO FUCK YOURSELF ANTI-AMERICAN!!!!!!

  • @matrix11590 Cool. I'm not actually anti-American, I'm just anti-people getting shot for doing nothing.

  • @spackhollogay They badmouthed the US for no reason, is than nothing?

  • @matrix11590 They badmouthed the US for getting involved in a war that had nothing to do with them and killing loads of innocents along the way. That's hardly worth getting killed for. Also one of the people killed that day was simply walking between classes and was shot in the back from hundreds of yards away, he was hardly a threat to state security.

  • @spackhollogay so you calling Commies innocent? That automatically make you an Anti-American, deny all you want but they DESERVED to get shot for treason..

  • @matrix11590 How do you know they're Communists? And even if they were, what's wrong with that? Their political views might be wrong, but they're entitled to them. And you still haven't explained how the man who was shot while walking between classes deserved his fate.

  • @spackhollogay He's probably involved of burning down building and American flags during protests. And for what you said about communists they are, they're allies to the Soviet Union who wanted to spread Communism to the world..

  • Man fuck hippies!!!!

  • God Bless You.

  • any jackwad who can even THINK of defending the national guards' actions really needs to take a closer look at america through a different lens rather than what money-grubbing conservatives and nationalistic textbooks teach them

  • They should have gotten medals. Fuck those self-centered baby boomer hippie subhumans. Overprivileged college pricks badmouthing men doing their duty to stop the spread of communism.

  • Obvious troll is obvious.

  • @deadcommie10 - lol, I know, right? He has lame trolling skills. I could show him how to really troll, but for a fee.

  • @deadcommie10 Yes I don't understand why people are SO strongly negative about it, the university students were about the same age as students so the invasion of Cambodia would definitely upset them, they had every right to protest

  • I got news for you you facist prick I have a friend who went to KENT ST in 1970 and she said the National Guard was way out of line firing on unarmed people.

  • @timreeder Well Im friends with one of the guard soldiers who was there and he thought the hippies where way out of line.

  • Those students were a direct threat to the safety of the public. That riot could have spread to the rest of Kent. Think of how many people would have been hurt by a bunch of drugged up kids with intense anger. They did not even understand what they were protesting about! The National Guard acted with all just prudence in putting down the riot.

  • @1STACCS Bull shit man, the most violent thing they did was burn down the empty ROTC building (which they did as a retaliation against threats that the National Guard were going to break up their previously peaceful assembly). You can't say they were violent because, no civilians in the city were either killed or even harmed. And neither were any of the national guardsmen. Not a single national guardsmen suffered even a minor injury during the fight.

  • The people of Kent were not harmed because the National Guard broke the whole riot up. If that riot went unbroken, it would have spread even more out of control, into the city.

So, by your Prozacian reasoning, if I burned your house down and threw stones at your family, you wouldn't consider that very violent?

  • @1STACCS You wouldn't be considered violent, because I had threatened to shoot you before you "burned down my house and threw stones at my family". If I've got a gun in my hand, I'm not considering any college kids armed with sticks and rocks to be "violent"

  • @Jarut195 That is becaus you can take them out. But when they try to burn your house and stone your family, would you have the balls, like the Guardsmen, to shoot. I doubt it.

Now you are suddenly pro gun!? Hmmm. Liberalism is Mental Disorder!

You are not making a logical argument here.

  • @1STACCS First of all, I never said I was pro-gun I merely stated that someone holding a gun is unlikely to be afraid of someone with sticks and rocks. And when did the protesters try to stone and burn the "family". There was no one in the ROTC building when they tried to burn it down, and they didn't try to stone the guards, they threw rocks at them to imply that they were angry that the guard was infringing their 1st Amendment rights.

The guardsmen were wearing bulletproof vests and helmets.

  • @Jarut195 I'm not sure what a "jackwad" is but I can not only THINK of defending what the Ohio guard did I can understand it. While what they did was a terrible, tragic mistake, looking through the lens of thee time, it should have been expected. The student protest was clearly violent and destructive. They were given multiple orders to disperse and they did not. Any "jackwad" that provokes a group of young men armed with M-1's is asking for trouble.

  • @larrydb66 Congratulations, you just defended the Boston Massacre.

  • This brings back some horrible memories of that time. I was a full time college student at that time, and when we heard the news of the shootings, we were in a state of shocked disbelief. This was America, after all, and the unthinkable had happened.

  • and just one other thing, drjreefer, peace and universal kindness are the two values instilled in everyone by every religion, every ideology and every society if you don't believe in those u truly are ... retarded

  • national guardsmen should never EVER f**king ever shoot the people they have sworn to protect unless the people pose a legitimate threat, entailing they might have weapons of equal or greater caliber than their own not rocks, flags, and lighters

  • I don't know why this was marked as spam, but...

I know that France had numerous protests in 1968 regarding the government and of Stalinism, yet I am not sure if anyone was gunned down at all.

  • Comment removed

  • the guardsmen were actually firing in the sky and ground. But some men were too slow to put on there gas masks and blinded by tear gas. when they heard fellow guardsmen shooting they thought they were firing into the crowd and they fired into the croud also

  • OH PLEASE!!!!

That is the weakest excuse I have ever heard. Go home.

  • could hve happen

  • the kent state shooting were iin fact a massacre because even though the protesters were throwing rocks at the Gaurd, it never hit anyone. Surround those doing that and try not to get innocent people involved. the guard thought their lives were being threatened, however so did the protesters. After the riot, when the parents and students of the wounded and the deceased went 2 court, pres. Nixon would not allow the case to open. Also the 8 guardsmen who fired the shots were never convicted.

  • hippies are the shit.

  • We weren't all hippies. Most of us were fulltime college students, just trying to let our beliefs be known. Look at the pix of the dead. They weren't hippies.

  • should have put the song OHIO by CSNY CAUSE ITS ABOUT THE SHOOTING just saying cause its a better song

  • because they were stupid

  • can some1 please tell me why they did that?

  • Comments marked as spam are not spam.

  • Well with my reasoning, if the kent state massacre was a riot, then in all fairness the botson massacre would be a riot as well. My reasoning for this is the fact that Kent State happened in mid-day, where as the Boston massacre happened at night. Also, according to (non-propagandic) evidence at the time, the soldiers were pretty much cornered by drunken colonists taunting them.

Now, I see the Boston Massacre as a massacre, only because I see the Kent State shootings as a massacre as well.

  • I don't like hippies either. Am I uneducated too?

  • Oh no HIPPIES!

How can anyone tolerate a group of people who thought war was a bad thing and wanted everyone to be nice to everyone else.

    HOW FUCKING DARE THEY!

  • Does your brain hurt, unless you've one?

  • There is a video that was shot of the actual event. You can see that there is no riot. I don't know where you can find it, I saw it on the history channel so they might have it, but there was no riot. The students were orderly in a group when you hear gunshots being fired and the crowd of people paniking and running as fast as they can away, some dropping to the ground.

Out of curiosity, 1shouldmatter, do you think the Boston Massacre was a massacre? Or a riot?

  • good lord- drone much?

"i took a shittttt... and ate a sandwichhhhhh....."

  • What bullcrap. The students were vandalizing the town and the guard was sent in. Yes, some ofthose shot were innocent but a few were not. Especially canfora who was grazed in the wrist and is the loudest protester of them all.

  • HAHA I just love ppl dying don't you guys ICP even made a song about this shooting it's one of the most famous that's what you get you stupid gvernment promising ppl in the army something that you won't give them I'm surprised this doesn't happen more often

  • who sings this song???

  • I saw this video in my history class this morning.

very good song. Do you know who sings it?

  • what´s the title of the song? thx

  • 13 seconds in may(kent state massacur) by ryan harvey

  • "the soldiers came to our peaceful campus" - the line right after the ROTC building was burned down, never realized that before in the song.

I have always believed the National Guard fired over the main crowd of protesters due to fear of their own safety. Instead of scaring them off they hit people behind them cementing this scar on American History.

  • the students were right

  • Hippie Chick - Typical liberal view. You all believe in a class system. What class are you? I like to think we are all equal.

  • What about the man who's forced out of his home by the inevitable capitalist recession? Is he as equal as the fat cat banker who's just been bailed out by vote of the ruling class? What decision did we the people have in such a say? These banks and their free market have failed us, and we have to pay to bail them out, while we're left on the street?

  • Rejioce you have OBOMBA now - the Afgan Warrior. 23 died in Iraq today, four soldiers died in Afganistan today - blood on ObombA's hands. Let us see if he has the courage of his convictions or will he allow his CLinton friends to sell the country our to hedge funds and communist friends.

  • mmac382: you are foolishly optimistic to really believe that. we all dont make the same wages, we dont have the same housing arrangements, and we dont get the same treatment from the government.

  • One reason they buried a copy of the constitution during that weekend.

  • So much for the first amendment...

  • If they shoot you down for exercising your consitutional rights you never had any constitutional rights to exercise in the first place....and never will.

  • perfect statement

  • Toughterrier - Somehow I ended up with two sons, one of whom just returned from 15 months in Iraq, the other is learning to fly jets for the Navy. They've seen my Kent tee shirt (target on the back & student in caps above) & they know my opinion, which is if you weren't there, don't piss on dead kids who were walking to class or on the periphery of the protest. And I lost a cousin in Italy (Silver Star awarded)-proud of him without knowing him, but my point remains - it was murder, unpunished.

  • Oh yeah, the day we learned our government, our parents, would shoot us down without a second thought - two kids walking to class, two on the fringes of the protest - yeah, go piss on their memorial, and I hope tin soldiers don't come gunning for you one day, because you want to exercise your consitutional rights. If you didn't live through it, your opinion doesn't mean jack to those of us who did. It comes down to this: it shouldn't have happened and those murderers should have gone to jail.

  • Firstly, I apologize for the language, caught me after a rough one. From my perspective, it was a case of American kids killing American kids, tragic.

  • We should all join together and go to the peace memorial at Kent State. Let us drink beer for our brothers killed and wounded in Viet Nam, Iraq and Afganistan. And then let us piss on that peace memorial and give it all the respect it is due. Semper Fi

  • you guys are a bunch of ignorant idiots.

The video is awesome and so are the song lyrics. I actually used this to teach my college U.S. History class about student activism and the counterculture. It helped a lot.

To all you who have to use swear words to express your feelings, you really are ignorant fools. Learn the historical context behind everything before you make stupid comments.
