What a different world Japan is. Barely any screams between songs, and such a uniform way of clapping at the end, but only at the very end, after the last note has been played. How strange. I like to be a part of lively audiences, I would hate to watch a concert there. And I think I would hate to perform there even more.
@JaveDMode Blame the organizers -- Nakano Sun Plaza is a HORRIBLE venue for live music. Overstuffed, tiny seating, no concessions, etc (I saw Echo & The Bunnymen there in 1988). Given their popularity in Japan at that time, a more intimate venue/experience would have given fans what they came to see, Robert up close.. Its not a perfect comparison, but look at Cheap Trick tearing up the Budokan in 1978, or Weezer at Fuji Rock in 2009. Give people a proper place to have fun, and they'll have it.
thanks, it sounds great ...quite different from lp.well...fascinating.always and forever ...discovered them with"friday im in love".then cure guided me through shifting years..that gave my shield.its energetic, full of power.love the basslines and the voice of Robert.
In fact I love these "grey" years of 83-84 , when the band was not a band anymore , after pornography, just Smith and Tolhurst , no album but very very good catchy tunes, The Walk, Let's go to bed, Lovecats, Charlotte sometimes,...next album, the Top (84 ?) still in this mood...the last of my beloved time with the Cure...
I so love this song!! Such a great melody that just blends so well with the unique voice that Robert has. Such a rockin song!! The Cure has truly stood the test of time!! Their music still sounds fresh today even 30 years later!! Such an awesome and amazing band!! Rock on forever Cure!!
This is the song I like to play, actually blast as loud as my speakers can take it, while in my convertible sports car with the convertible top down, winding through the country roads and enjoying the clear sky. When I'm at a red light and some 'rapper' looks at me confused & bewildered because they actually have 'heard tasterful music for the first time'...I look at them and smile and nod "that right asshole...The Cure & RS is God" eat my smoke!
the cure is awesome...that guys long drawn out maudlin comment was gay...and anyone who isn't a complete tool would've realized that i wasn't referring to the video or the band
Drummer is Andy Anderson, ironically this was his last show, he was fired after this concert by Robert Smith because he got into a fight with security guards...so reports state. Vince Ely filled in up until Boris Williams joined in the tour later on.
Lol Tolhurst and Porl Thompson are both playing keyboards in this track, Lol is the one with the curly dark hair.
This band and the band he had for the Disintegration tour are by far the best but the cool commitment he showed earlier on in his singing put this ahead of everything else.
TONIGHT!!! i simply cannot wait for LA's Cure arrival... <3

@njacd funnily enough, Lol was actually the one who made the drum beats for this song and he was the original drummer.

no, "concert" is London and Oxford in May. :)

I like how Lol used a small drum set with a pair of hi hats a splash and two crashes, and Andy has a huge set with a bunch of different cymbals.

he played only in "the top" album
but obviously i prefer simon
OISSELAtube 2 years ago
In fact, he didn't perform even in "The Top". He recorded only The Lovecats single.

and who is the drummer in "the top"?
OISSELAtube 2 years ago
[he played only in "the top" album]
Was this reference to Phil or Andy? If to Andy, then yes, Andy did drums, but if to Phil, then no, he didn't play on the album.
