Earlier this year, I traded an old car that's been sitting in my yard for 4 years for a used 18-volt DeWalt cordless drill and an impact wrench, 3 batteries, charger and the big leather case to carry it all in. The drill is a 3/8th inch, but the impact wrench is a 1/2 inch. My neighbor wanted the old car to fix up for his daughter, and he'd been watching me use a 4-way lug wrench to raise and lower the scissor jacks on my camper. The drill is great, but the impact wrench is fantastic. Merry Xmas
Don't forget to fill out the warranty if it came with one....i got the same drill and also the impact Dewalt with chargers for that price a year ago at home depot.........For 99 dollars that is a hell of a steal! also a lot of stores will match or beat other store prices....... AWESOME LARRY YOU DESERVE THAT DRILL!!!! WOO HOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've been shopping at Ace for years, but I tend to lean toward Home Depot because it's closer and quicker. I've just plain worn out my good old 18V cordless "noname," and I've drooled over the DeWalts, but no friggin' way at $200. Not leaving the house at all tomorrow (self preservation), but I'll be hitting Ace on Monday. I hope my local one has it, because that's a steal.
My local feed and seed joined up with Ace a few years ago and you're right, I don't get 10 feet into the store without someone coming up to me to help. I don't care if it's some weird fitting or lawn mower part they have it and know right where it is. Nice intro and exit.
@RedneckResponder Thanks. Still playing with the new editor. I'll have another new camera after the holidays and I will be trying it again on the HD thing.
I have the same drill, It came in the 4 tool combination set, Saw, Drill, Sawsall and Light. Had it 3 years,,all are still going strong. And I use them at work almost every day. One battery has died, the bad news is the damn battery cost 90 bucks. lol It will do the job.
@1880TimeTraveler NINETY BUCKS! GEEESH... LOL... This is the new disoposable world that we have been forced into. They make the consumables so expensive that you are better off just throwing it away and buying a new one. I'm keeping my old Makita as a back up LOL... Where ya been? Haven't seen any videos up from you lately.
@mobiltec Your right its a better deal to buy a new drill than replace one battery. and thanks for asking about my absence. well we had a real bad year in 2011, we lost a grandson that lived in California. and then Kathys grandmother in Canada ( she raised kathy from age 4 ) had a stroke and Kathy spent 4 months up there. and is leaving to go back up on the 4th of Jan. But we are planning to get back out on the road this year. Hopefully we will be in you'r neck of the woods.. Thanks Friend.
Hate to piss on your parade old bean, (hopefully not, but) I think you'll be disappointed with the modern Dewalt tools. They used to be the best of the best, but since Black and Decker bought them they've gone downhill fast. I'm a Makita man myself and only ever had 1 tool let me down.
My brother who has been in tool/plant-hire all his working life, swears by Makita too and won't even stock Dewalt because he "knows they'll come back, nobody returns a Makita".
Ace Hardware is by far a better store then those gaint stores. As for the new toy, you made a great score there my friend! More smaller stores is what this country needs. Sometimes the best gifts are the ones we choose for ourselves my friend. Merry Christmas to you and Tabby!
