I nearly cut off my right hand so I don't play anymore...sigh... I'd like these to go to someone who will enjoy playing them as much as I did.Let me know if you are interested. fingerstyle implies playing with fingers. I've never used a flat pick, nor clip on type fingerpicks, just finger nails and callouses.

I learned folk style, my own style. A lot of folk fingerpickers use a finger rest (I think called posting) to keep the hand securely in place above the strings. I guess you're classically trained if you think that's a no no, although I imagine some folk teachers discourage it as well..

@bsondahl with the electric guitar i also lay my little finger to rest. but that has a different reason. it keeps the hand in place and in that position you are able to very fast dampen the strings so the sound will be gone. it's a technique used in quite a few different riffs and songs.

Wow. that was great. i've never heard this song before until now. and my music teacher is making me play it at my school's christmas show (A HUGE crowd!!!!) in only a week! yikes!!!
