What year was this lesson from? It can't be from 2002, when the Detroit DVD came out, because Zakk had his full, long beard & his vest had all the patches on it then. This had to be like in '98 or '99.

I think what it is that He just plays the songs as he knows em but when it comes to actually teaching them you can see he has to change the way he thinks about the solo so he can demonstrate it and he even makes some small mistakes when playing some of the licks at a slower speed.

Its a break from what he is used to.

As my guitar teacher tells me.

"One of the most challenging thing you ask a shredder to do is play something slow"
