Yet another example of the couple dozen ways Enterprise could have been the crowning jewel of the franchise, and dropped the ball. The show was more than any of the others about furtive first steps and exploration on the edge of the possible- so why did we have a big-haired rock attack instead of something like this?
Can anyone believe we have done nothing more on the Moon or beyond? It's unbelievable and a national disgrace. To have stopped in 1972 is truly a national failure. To echo another poster here, we MUST go back and continue.
I was five years old when Neil Armstrong set foot on the Moon in 1969. I believe that event was the one thing that defined my life, and who I would become.
I spent over 15 years in the Air Force, what I did and where I served does not matter...
I am over fourty now. We should have been to Mars by now. We are not.
Just checking in two years later...
We might make it in my lifetime.
I've been blessed with the opportunity to witness 1 Apollo and 2 Space Shuttle launches in person. I hope I have enough life left to see a Mar's shot.
