i always loved the beauty in skuppy - caolm thru the storm(even in tdp an lp) - have 2 say, they never let me down.chk out devils in my details 2 double check!
No I was there for both tours. They never played it. I still am not sure what album is better though.. but they are the 2 best industrial albums hands down. Why did they water down thier sound after? It was a huge step back.
well, they signed to american recordings for process, and they wanted a more radio friendly sound. they broke up and dwayne died and they put it out in his memory. weird setting. i still love the process...everything after that is....meh.
@korndud Out of curiosity, have you checked out Back and Forth vol 7 yet? They were selling it at the Mythrus tour (and through Subconscious). It's a collection of their work between Last Rights and the Process, with a lot of Process-era stuff "pre-edit" (e.g., Candle, Amnesia).
Not only are you wrong about the 'watering down' of skinny puppy, you are also wrong about whether they played morpheous laughing or not: they played it on the TDP tour.
I have a bootleg from the Too Dark Park tour called "Heaven's Trash;" it's definitely on there.
I actually like the newer albums a lot--Mythmaker is probably my favorite Skinny Puppy album. It's a very smooth sound, but still very complex.
If I recall correctly, they just use a different approach now: they write a bunch of different "versions" of a song and have different people working on them.
I heard the "Heaven's Trash" bootleg and it sounds like the studio version. I did do some research and found on Litiny that they did play this song for some encores. I know they did not for the NYC show that I attended at the Ritz.
And I don't think it's a subjective argument about the "watering down" of their sound after Last Rights. LR was densely layered with samples and analog modular synth noises. The Process was a commercial effort and less chaotic. Ditto for TGROTR (Their worst record IMO). Mythmaker is more complex due to the glitch element yes. But still nothing compared to TDP and LR. And what happened to the darkness?
