It just isn't fair! The IG and Orks get the nice big super heavies for $170 but SM players have to shell out about $500 to get something equal (Titan Duh!) just because its from FW! When is GW going to get their act together and make a SM titan by themselves!?

@Dazzacopley Space Marines don't have Titans! Only the IG and Chaos 'Guard field them. I agree with what yr saying tho dude, I love the models but i'd rather not have to mortgage the house just to buy a Thunderhawk or a Manta.

I just snap 'em off and replace them with wire. Just need to drill the right sized hole in the top of the aerial mount to get it to stick properly.

If you don't like it.... convert it. God be with the days when everything wasn't handed to you in plastic...

though I have some issues with the rules and the modell kit; why didn't they put in vehicle options in the kit (pintlemounted weapon, hunter killer etc) and the option to put a extra sponson pair?

and why does the rules forget about the hull mounted heavy bolters and the heavy stubbers the transport troops can use? they are not even named in the weapon list :O

check the data sheets in white dwarf. The rules for the crew's heavy stubbers and hull mounted heavy bolted are definately there. And I think the kit contains a lot of different options, I think you can build one of six different tanks with this kit.

well, not really, if you point it at a titan i think it can only take off one void shield per turn, (so its not really the titan killer its claimed to be) but its probably amazing against similar super heaviers with no void shields, stompa maybe?

There is a book that you can buy only from forge world and that one has the rules for the shadowsword( this is not something you can buy from a hobby store) and the rules say for the shadow sword's volcano cannon not the warlords version "Volcano cannon range 120 S D AP 2 Special ordnance1, 5 blast destroyer. Primary weapon." this is the Imperial armor Apocalypse book that u can only buy off of forge world to get this one.

I own both FW and the new GW baneblades, and the FW is way better detailed, and welded interlocking armour is always better than riveted.

The plastic baneblade should have lower armour and fewer structurepoints due to the way it's designed :P

Well for gaming purposes a baneblade is a bane blade in the model. The lower stats is like saying a space marine with heavy metal paint jobe gets better stats while a 3 color space marine gets the stats of a guardsman just because of the aperance.

But forge world still has better detail and also the stormsword whic is my fav baneblade varient. I don't know why I am such a plasma freak.

The Shadowsword is armed with a Volcano Canon, if you don'T have IA: apocalypse, I would simply take the profile of the Warlord Volcanon Canon as it is described in the Apocalypse Rule book

I like the Shadowsword an i am sure, i will buy some one. Great Model, GW. But in my opinion to place the sponsons in the middle of the side armour looks not so good. I will placed it rear of the tank, like at the old ForgeWorld Tanks. It looks simply better.

there are three places on each side for sponsons (front, middle, rear) you can put them wherever you want and cover the rest with armour plates.

My only nitpick is that the bipod on the shadowsword's titan sniper has been removed. This was my fave bit as it linked it in with a sniper so much for me, but then again I'm happy for just plastic vulcan mega bolters!
