  • Their drummer left and started his own band...The Motor City Rockers in the late 80's early 90's. My old band did a show with them and they did rock for sure! The rest of the band played off and on with a different drummer and they still play some here and there. Not sure if the drummer is ever been back with them, I think there was some bad blood between them.

  • Such a cool freakin jam.

  • They even appeared on Soul Train. I wonder what song was that, I'm very curious.

  • I think this is their best song.

They are playing in downtown Royal Oak tomorrow night for the free New Years Eve show, c'yall there!!

  • This is such a great song.

  • Detroit Rocks!

  • they still rock here in detroit !!they awesome

  • Que cancion mas volada ufff, full rock and roll para ir en un carro a 200 km por hora!

  • Did this song ever make the top 40 or hot 100 lists? I think this song may have been played before on some radio stations.

  • i play this to get the party started !!!!!

  • Maybe two tees in cassette, otherwise no errors I think.

  • @whirrrrr Just checking in. Hey and thanks for the spellcheck. Actually, Blaupunkt was the word I was not sure of the correct spelling and I still am. Too darn lazy to look it up.

  • Whoo hoo! Spring break cruising the strip in my brothers 320i playing this cassete on the Blaupunkt. stereo with the 80watt equalizer (sp?)

  • Great Rock & Roll tune!

  • Tremendo rock. Nunca pasara de moda sin duda.

  • They made some good rock songs. I went and got all their cds and they are all great.

This song in particular is one of their best.

  • Classics, classics, classics. Always the best.

  • I'd much rather hear this song on the radio much more than "What I Like About You". This song never gets old.

  • @azfan1014 Agreed! Killer guitar riff and great vocal melody!

  • Yeaaaa..... the Romantics!! love this song!

  • america's best party rock band of the 80's...pretty close.

    jctoronto

  • best band ever

  • I love this type of tunes.

  • Seriously fun music but, I`m sure most of the kids of today would disgree.

They don`t say bitch or whore even once and I think most the kids of today can`t relate. :)

  • @deeperwaterz

Actually, you sound like the typical kid of today seeking praise and claiming he's "different" from everyone else. You're pathetic...

  • @youbetterbelievehah <<< wah wah wah youtubes biggest baby has spoken blah ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

  • @deeperwaterz good thing i ain't one of those kids.

  • @deeperwaterz I'm 16 and I love this music T-T

  • They're not a one hit wonder. They were a very solid band.

  • You`re right they had many hits and toured extensively.

  • garage rock at its finest. good song!

  • Miss the fun 80's music. Love the Romantics! They seem so innocent compared to today's musical sewer.

  • BEST dance song.

  • YEAHHHHHHHH

SO GOOD MUSIC the momantics very good band

    alright now! ROCK AND ROLL

THE BEST ALBUM is "In Heat" 1983

  • great song :D

  • always loved this

  • Tremenda agrupación pionera de su epoca en el verdadero rock. Los extrañamos.

  • Su musica fue y será importante siempre.

  • A staple in my group's cover shows back in the 80s. We got to open for them a couple times back in these days. No, we didn't cover them. We played our own stuff. VERY nice guys and totally ROCK!

  • always a good one to get things moving

  • this is also one of my favorite Romantics songs the funny thing about it it also reminds me of Marshall Crenshaw also of the Detroit Power Pop era

  • Awesome Detroit power pop! love it!

  • Without a doubt, the BEST song on the album. Too bad that Talking in your Sleep was the more popular.

  • funny....i said the same thing about "when i look in your eyes" from their 1st album...its a better song than "what i like about you"

  • Heard this sond on Michigan Mondays on the WRIF the other night and decided I had to learn it. No tabs anywhere, but a million for What I Like About You. Anyway, I think I got it. Capo on 3rd fret, and use A7th chord shapes like playing in Open G. Let the 5 string ring. Simple, effective, JAM!!! Way fun to play along with!

  • I just saw the Romantics in Mt. Clemens, Michigan...I was hoping they would play this song..they opened up with it. IT KICKED SERIOUS ASS!..they were the best band of the Stars and Stripes festival!!

    Detroit rock and roll!!!!!!!!

  • One of(if not)the best Romantics songs, ever. A perfect song if there ever was one. Glad it didn't get turned into a "What I Like About You" clone that got played to death on t.v. and sports events. One thing is for sure,it sure beats the hell outta Talking in your Sleep. Ugh!!!

  • You can hear the MOTOWN influences. Very cool stuff TY for posting

  • THANKS UUUHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

  • LOVE this song!!!!!
