  • why dont u used tomatoes in it? I mean ughh..I made pulao last friday without tomatoes and it was really bad??...i thought I didnt put tomatoes...but u r also not using it??

then I m doubtful about how it tastes....

  • @hafeez587 Usually pulao is without tomatoes, but it all depends on everybody's wish, you try this recipe, you might like it,

  • @hafeez587 When u add tomatoes tomatoes to pulao or any other rice dish, u cant keep the dish for long. It'll deteriorate. That's why no tomatoes. Perhaps for the taste you could adjust with garlic, ginger, celery stalks n other veggies with richer taste. Celery is good!

  • hot... lol

  • isn't this the same as wat is called yakhni biriyani? its fantastically done. thanks a lot i have been looking for some easier method of doing this without going into squeezing the yakhni through a muslin cloth which is more time consuming.!

  • Yes deepanjana, you are right, this is same yakhni pulao without making a poutli of muslin cloth..

  • Ginger garlic paste turns green sometimes, it happens with anyone, it just means that there was some copper in the container where she blended or where she mashed the garlic and ginger, it has happened to me before, the color goes away after a while, it's perfectly safe to eat.

  • Thanks for explaining.

  • Hi, I was wondering is this different from pilaf from tajikistan or uzbekistan?(taste wise)

  • Hi i tried this recipe but it came out quite bland and it wasnt brown enough like urs wer would u be able to explain y. thanks

  • Hi SidAmina,I think the masalas were not enough, thats why the pulao became bland, plus the colour of pulao depend on the colour of fried onions.Try again & Im sure sec. time results'll be better.

  • thanks so much for the recipe. i like your 'text-book' style of explaining. Is the commentary and cooking done by the same person?
