@MrFlyingscotsman1 I understand the ships were damaged, but totally destroy them? I know they were weary and tired of running, but much was salvageable. And finding another planet that looked like earth, very plausible. It's mind boggling to think how big space is. There are up to 2500 stars visible to the naked eye at any given point on our earth, 5800 to 8800 total visible (telescope). Astronomers estimate 200 billion to 400 billion stars just in our Milky Way.
And it is estimated that there are hundreds of billions of galaxies. Hubble Ultra Deep Field captured an image with about 10,000 galaxies visible just in one picture. Makes me wish I had a ship with an FTL drive.
@hestermark They destroyed their ships because they wanted to "break the cycle". They believed if they started out with technology, their fate would have been the same as was on Caprica, as was old "Earth", as was Kobol. The whole "all this has happened before, all of it will happen again" thing is precisely what they were trying to stop.
@ComanderSev I can't agree totally. In the end, they open the theory that we're all hybrid's offsprings as they discover the remains of Hera that human scientists name Lucy...
@ComanderSev Earth is just a symbol, yes earth was destroyed by the wars and it was a cylon planet before but, the earth that "we" live on now, it's earth too!
@ComanderSev I dont think they found real earth. What they found was another planet looked like earth that was colonized by cylons and was nuked by war (i think reference to real earth), then they found another planet that looked like earth millions of years ago when man started to evolve. I COULD BE WRONG.
I just finished the last episode of bsg, thank you for this song, it's been stuck in my head since i first heard it, but was reluctant to look here for it in case of spoilers. Now i have it on repeat, beautiful :)
@aaronmb83 How Does the series end? Everything in the universe is one form or other of energy. That energy is what God would call music. Starbuck figures this out and saves the fleet.
@aaronmb83 , I actually hated it. They found earth. It was 'millions' of our years ago with groups of 'Homo Erectus' type beings. Everyone in the fleet decided to give up their technology, live on the earth, and send the ships towards the sun. Then it shows present day earth with Baltar and Six having a discussion while walking away from the camera.
@hestermark I, too, found the ending unconvincing compared to the rest of the show which was "hard" sci-fi. So they FINALLY got to their fabled earth and instead of landing their ships, setting up their own little society in peace with hospitals, schools ect. They just said "well, lets crash all our valuables into the sun and just all walk off into the land separately.. See ya!" They would have all died within weeks from harmless infections, starvation, or exposure. And they bred with cavemen??
@hestermark watch it again, they crashed their ships to sun cuz the ships were damaged and couldn't jump anymore because of the last battle with cylons.... what can they do with old, damaged ships?
@hestermark and gaius baltar & six were having a discussion 150 million years ago but they weren't actually gaius and six... they were the angels that helped them... angels which cannot age or die -.-'
so the ending tells that the god really helped them and that gaius believed in something real..
I was lucky enough to be an extra on BSG for a day, It was one of the most amazing days of my life. The show is my all time favorite. Just beautiful.
@T0mat0S0up The episode was called "Blood On The Scales" I was called Adama's Civilian Army on the call sheet. Fuck... there is a song that sounds just like this in BSG, but I can't find it! It has almost the same tune, but it's more upbeat and sounds more epic. Nice - it's the visual aesthetics of the show that hooked me. They've done something very spesh in developing the used future look. Easy to take for granted the battle sound in the musical score which this makes brilliant use of. Fraking great.

It's funny how this song makes everyone think of a different moment lol... Really proves how great of a score this is... Nothing that anyone posted connects to me why I think about this song... Simply amazing!
